Minimum investments in measuring and control technology to optimize building operation suffice to rapidly and sustainably realize considerable energy saving potentials. Kieback&Peter automation systems link power supply systems such as CHP, photovoltaics, storage systems and energy distribution with metering and consumption estimates to form a comprehensive system. Building automation and control serves as a basis for the integration of real estate properties into an energetic neighborhood development regardless of the energy quality of the building shell. Devices for sustainable energy savings A combination of the en:key room sensor and the en:key valve controller represents a low cost smart heating solution. Devices communicate using the EnOcean wireless protocol. Devices that use this ISO wireless standard can be easily integrated in system solutions. Short radio protocols do not generate harmful electro smog. Information exchange between the room sensor and the valve controller is protected by special communication technology. The room sensor and the valve controller are self-sufficient and are powered without the need for electrical wiring or batteries. They are completely maintenance-free. They provide their own energy by energy harvesting and using energy sources in the direct vicinity of the installation location. 3 / 8

6 en:key Self-Sufficient Individual Room Control MD10 Valve Controller The valve controller is screwed on to the radiator valve like a conventional thermostat valve head. It has a rotary knob with a scale 1-5. As on other radiator thermostats, users can set the desired comfort temperature for the room. The thermostat insert on the valve controller controls the room temperature by opening or closing the heating valve. Motor-driven stroke movements enable the valve controller to adopt the economy position and thus supply the room with heat in a particularly energyefficient way. The valve controller is supplied with power by the integrated thermoelectric generator that uses the thermal energy of the heating water to generate electrical energy. A high-quality internal energy storage unit stores the energy and provides the valve controller with power as required.
