1 19 Linden Park, Rochester, NY (585) Fax (585) Tech Note #51 Title: Setting BIOS settings in Orion Motion Controllers Date: April 24, 2003 Orion motion controllers use a PC motherboard which have a number of BIOS settings which are required for proper operation of the controller. If those settings should need to be reset this Tech Note documents the correct settings. First, identify the board. A part number on the board between or near the ISA card slots toward the right side of the board identifies the motherboard. Removal of faceplates or Axis modules may be necessary to see the number. If the part number is MV035F use the settings in section MV035F below. If the part number is MV035 (without a revision) use the section MV035 below. If the board is identified as ESA use the settings in the ESA section. If it is some other part number contact Ormec for further assistance. Install a video card in the Orion and attach a keyboard and monitor. Apply power and press the Del key when prompted (or as power up is taking place) to enter the BIOS setup. In the Setup area navigate through the setup screens (blocks) and adjust the settings as listed For Boards labeled MV035F Standard Block Set Date/Time correctly. Set all disks as not installed.
