8 T28 Navigation Horizontal Adjustment Keys are Below the Display Left Horizontal Key Right Horizontal Key Horizontal Adjustment Keys Move the Cursor Left or Right Enter a Menu Line with the Right Horizontal Key Exit a Menu Line and Save the entry with the Left Horizontal Key. Activate the multiple times until the cursor has moved all the way to the left.

11 T28 ph Manual Mode Before Starting a Calibration put the Transmitter in Manual Mode 4-20 ma Output HOLD Function Enter Manual Mode Magnetically activate the Right Horizontal Arrow key An M will appear in front of the % Output The T28 output is now under manual control Exit Manual Mode Magnetically Activate the Left Horizontal Arrow Key Move to the Diagnostic Screen Magnetically Activate the Down Arrow Key

13 T28 ph Calibration, Zero Point The 1 ph Screen allows Zero Point Calibration (ph 7) or Standardization to Grab sample Place the sensor in ph 7 buffer Start the Calibration Magnetically Activate the Right Horizontal Key If ph 7 is not displayed use the Key to move the cursor to the insertion point and use the or to adjust the value. Accept the Calibration when the mv reading has stabilized Magnetically Activate the Left Horizontal Arrow Key Each Activation moves the Cursor one slot to the Left When the Cal line reappears the Calibration has been Saved

14 T28 ph Calibration, Standardize Start a Standardization Magnetically Activate the Right Horizontal Key Adjust the ph value to agree with a Grab Sample Use the Key to move the cursor to the insertion point use the to adjust the value Largest Digit first Accept the Calibration when the mv reading has stabilized Magnetically Activate the Left Horizontal Arrow Key Each Activation moves the Cursor one slot to the Left When the Cal line reappears the Calibration has been Saved Scroll down to the Cal Line by Activating the Key

15 T28 ph Calibration Cal is the mv offset in ph 7 buffer Most ph sensors are designed to read 0 mv in ph 7. If the Cal value is greater than 60 mv replace the electrode The Cal value is the actual mv reading, ignore the 60 mv replacement note above if a solution other than ph 7 is used To reset the Cal value to the factory default, 0 mv Use the key to enter a line Scroll down to the 2 ph Screen

16 T28 ph Calibration, Slope The 2 ph Screen is the Slope Calibration Screen, mv/dec Place the sensor in ph 4.01 buffer ph 4.0 recommended but any solution greater than 2 ph units away from the Zero point calibration value can be used Start the Calibration Magnetically Activate the Right Horizontal Key If ph 4 is not displayed use the Key to move the cursor to the insertion point and use the or to adjust the value. Accept the Calibration when the mv/dec reading has stabilized Magnetically Activate the Left Horizontal Arrow Key Each Activation moves the Cursor one slot to the Left When the Cal line reappears the Calibration has been Saved

17 T28 ph Calibration, Slope Cal is the mv/ph Slope Most ph sensors are designed to read 59 mv/decade of change Calculated from the two Calibrations, 1 ph and 2 ph Values below 50 mv/dec indicate the sensor needs cleaning or replacement To reset the Cal value to the factory default, mv/dec Use the key to enter the Cal line, it automatically resets Scroll down to the Output Screen

18 T28 Output, 4 ma Set Up The default 4-20 ma Output setting is 0-14 ph To Change the 4 ma setting Magnetically activate the Right Horizontal Arrow key Use the Left Horizontal Arrow key to move the Cursor to the digit to be changed Use the Up Arrow key to adjust the value Save the New 4 ma Setting Magnetically Activate the Left Horizontal Arrow Key Each Activation moves the Cursor one slot to the Left When the Cursor has returned to the position _4 the setting has been Saved Scroll down to the 20 ma line using the Down Arrow key

19 T28 Output, 20 ma Set Up To Change the 20 ma setting Magnetically activate the Right Horizontal Arrow key Use the Left Horizontal Arrow key to move the Cursor to the digit to be changed Use the Up Arrow key to adjust the value Save the New 20 ma Setting Magnetically Activate the Left Horizontal Arrow Key Each Activation moves the Cursor one slot to the Left When the Cursor has returned to the position _4 the setting has been Saved Scroll down to the Trim and Units Screen using the Down Arrow key

20 T28 Trim and Units Screen The Trim C Line allows the Temperature Sensor to be Calibrated (trimmed) If the Displayed Temperature of the T28 does not agree with the Known Temperature in the process then Adjust the Trim C Line Magnetically activate the Right Horizontal Arrow key Use the Left Horizontal Arrow key to move the Cursor to the digit to be changed Use the or Arrow keys to adjust the value until the correct Temperature is displayed Save the Change Magnetically Activate the Left Horizontal Arrow Key Scroll down to the Units Line using the

21 T28 Trim and Units Screen The Unit Line allows the display of C or F Magnetically Activating the Right Horizontal Arrow key toggles between C and F There is no entry into the line it just toggles back and forth Return to the HOME Screen Magnetically Activate the Up Arrow Key 9X Exit Manual Mode as described earlier

23 T28 Dissolved Oxygen Calibration The 1DO Screen is the Zero Point Calibration. The Dissolved Oxygen sensor must be in a zero oxygen environment. Start the Calibration Magnetically Activate the Right Horizontal Key Accept the Calibration when the mv reading has stabilized Magnetically Activate the Left Horizontal Arrow Key Each Activation moves the Cursor one slot to the Left When the Cal line reappears the Calibration has been Saved Scroll down to the 2DO Screen using the Down Arrow key

24 T28 Dissolved Oxygen Calibration The 2DO Screen is the Span Calibration Typically an Air Cal (100%) Any known O 2 environment can be used (8.25 ppm) Start the Calibration Magnetically Activate the Right Horizontal Key Enter the DO value Use the Key to move the cursor to the insertion point use the to adjust the value Largest Digit first Accept the Calibration when the mv reading has stabilized Magnetically Activate the Left Horizontal Arrow Key

Calibration (MAX) Scroll down to the MAX Screen MAX is the Measurement Range Typically Sensor Value x 2.5 Set the MAX Value Magnetically Activate the Right Horizontal Key Use the Left Horizontal Arrow key to move the Cursor to the digit to be changed Use the or Arrow keys to adjust the value until the correct value is displayed Save the MAX Magnetically Activate the Left Horizontal Arrow Key When the Cursor is below the M the MAX value has been Saved

Calibration (Pct/ C) Scroll Down to the Pct/ C Line Temperature compensation Most solutions vary % per C Enter and Adjust the Pct/ C (optional) Magnetically Activate the Right Horizontal Key Use the Left Horizontal Arrow key to move the Cursor to the digit to be changed Use the or Arrow keys to adjust the value until the correct value is displayed Use the Left Horizontal Arrow Key to Save the value Scroll up to the Dry Screen using the Up Arrow key (3X)

27 T28 Cond. Calibration (Dry) Dry Cal Sets the Zero Point The Cond. Sensor must be dry and in air Start the Dry Cal Magnetically Activate the Right Horizontal Arrow key An asterisk and diagnostic number will appear The Diagnostic should trend towards 75 When the Asterisk disappears save the calibration Save the Dry Cal Magnetically Activate the Left Horizontal Arrow Key When the Cursor is below the D the Dry value has been Saved Scroll Down to the Buffer Screen using the Down Arrow key

Calibration (Buffer) Buffer Input is the Span Calibration Use a Calibration solution (most accurate) or Resistor value = Cell constant / Conductance Ω = 55/conductivity value in Siemens Enter a Value and Start the Calibration Magnetically Activate the Right Horizontal Key Use the Left Horizontal Arrow key to move the Cursor to the digit to be changed Use the or Arrow keys to adjust the value until the correct value is displayed When the Asterisk disappears save the calibration Save the Calibration Use the Left Horizontal Arrow Key to Save the value
