3 Legal status of IMANOR Public Establishment, a legal entity with financial autonomy Created under Law N concerning standardization, certification and accreditation - B.O. N 5822 dated 18 March 2010 Governed by a Board of Directors from the public and private sectors as well as from civil society Placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and the Digital Economy

16 Electrotechnical standardization The Moroccan Electrotechnical Committee (COMELEC) is established by decree of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and New Technologies of April 28, 2009 under the laws and regulations governing the Moroccan system of standardization. This committee aims to : follow the development of standardization in the electrical and electronics fields; take part in national standards harmonization efforts with the requirements of international markets in order to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the electricity sector; be the national link with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC); be a place of consultation for the development of national standardization in the electrical and electronics sector.
