13 European External Action Service Crisis Response & Operational Coordination Department EEAS CR & OCD is responsible for the activation of the EEAS Crisis Response System (CRS) that consists of: CRISIS PLATFORM EU SITUATION ROOM CRISIS MANAGEMENT BOARD EEAS CR & OCD plays a central role in ensuring both swift and effective mobilization of actors and instruments across the EU system as well as coherence of policies and actions throughout the various phases of crisis life cycle. Crisis Response Department comprises the following 3 Divisions: 1. Crisis Response Planing & Operations 2. EU Situation Room 3. Consular Crisis Management

There is clear added-value in working together, pooling resources and maximising the collective European effort on site. Support, complement and fasciliate the coordination of Member states actions in the field of civil protection with a view to improving the effectiveness of systems for preventing, preparing for and responding to natural and man-made disasters
