3 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 2 1 NEMO ANALYZE OVERVIEW Nemo Analyze is a front-line tool for benchmarking, troubleshooting, and statistical reporting of drive test data. It can be used on the field or in the office for immediate problem solving and report generation. Nemo Analyze supports the analysis of all major wireless technologies: TDMA, AMPS, cdmaone, GSM, HSCSD, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA, CDMA2000, TETRA, DVB-H, UMA, HSUPA, and TD-SCDMA, Nemo Analyze has a true database engine, combining the benefits of a heavy-duty database and a file-based analysis solution. The database engine provides outstanding scalability: data mining and the management of up to thousands of measurement files is possible. Nevertheless, the performance of queries that produce vast numbers of rows (e.g. plotting data on map) is outstanding compared to typical database solutions, matching that of file-based solutions. Moreover, Nemo Analyze functions exactly like file-based software from the maintenance perspective. Installing Nemo Analyze is easy, it runs on a standard PC, and needs no database administration. In fact, the user does not need to know anything about the database engine.

4 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 3 Nemo Analyze is designed to be the analysis tool for measurement files produced with the Nemo measurement tools: Nemo Outdoor, Nemo Handy, Nemo Q, and Nemo Autonomous. Nemo Analyze also supports measurement files produced by EADS TETRA/Tetrapol REMS. Parameters collected from the air interface by Nemo Outdoor and Nemo Handy are processed with Nemo Analyze. Nemo Analyze synchronizes and shows simultaneously the downlink and uplink data. Automatic upload of measurement files to the Analyze database is also possible. The measurement files first go into an upload folder, from which they are automatically uploaded to the database. What is more, a timer can be set for the upload to take place at any user-defined time of the day, even during the night. In addition, measurement files sent to Nemo Analyze from Nemo Handy are now automatically converted to the open Nemo File Format. Multiple layers in the same graph window offer a convenient way to compare two or more RF parameters simultaneously. Measurement data can be plotted on MapInfo maps. With the troubleshooting toolkit users can perform root cause analysis and quick drill-down to problem details. Reports can be used to make reports quickly and easily by simply following the instructions given in the windows. Reports display important overall statistics, such as, Call Success Rate, Handover Success Rate, and Frame Error Rate. The key features in Nemo Analyze are: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA, cdmaone, CDMA 2000, TDMA, TETRA, DVB-H, UMA, HSUPA, and TD-SCDMA supported Easy-to-use graphical interface for designing and creating custom KPIs without having to know any SQL. 6 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 5 2 WORKING WITH NEMO ANALYZE 2.1 TROUBLESHOOTING TOOLKIT AND DRILL-DOWN The troubleshooting toolkit enables the user to perform root cause analysis and quick drill-down to problem details. It makes troubleshooting fast, easy and scalable to handle vast amounts of data. The toolkit includes the root-cause analysis of voice calls, video calls, and UMTS RACH procedure. Failures, and the reasons of failures, are clearly pinpointed. It is possible to drill down to all various problems on network and application level. Drill-down utilizes the benefits of the database in full scale. Because the database does not process any irrelevant data in a drilldown, problems can be found and investigated quickly from vast amounts of data. Each individual failure can then be quickly investigated by drilling down to a user-defined time range of full event details around the problem event. Drill-down from a root cause analysis pie chart to a grid with all problem events caused by a selected problem cause.

8 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION BENCHMARKING Benchmarking with Nemo Analyze is easy and scalable to large data amounts, enhancing the cost and time efficiency of network operators. In Nemo Analyze it is possible make data comparisons among different operators, technologies, cells, IMSIs, polygon areas and time frames, conveniently showing the results in a single graph. Benchmarking can be done over large data sets (gigabytes of data) for KPIs, such as Voice call setup time, Ec/No, Rx Quality, and many more. Benchmarking can be performed quickly in the UI for a single KPI. There are also predetermined benchmarking report templates, in which KPIs from different operators, technologies, and time frames are conveniently compared and visualized in a single report.

9 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION KPI WORKBENCH Creating custom KPIs does not require any SQL knowledge anymore. Nemo Analyze s graphical user interface for custom KPI creation makes it simply a matter of dragging and dropping the appropriate parameters, correlations, operations (arithmetic or other) and sorting elements to the KPI workbench view and connecting them into a logical flow chart. As also the properties of each of these elements are customizable, the combinations are almost limitless. The KPI workbench is part of the troubleshooting toolkit.

10 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION STATISTICAL REPORTING Reporting in Nemo Analyze is based on Crystal Reports. The Crystal Report Viewer tool is embedded in Nemo Analyze. Reports include essential network and application performance KPIs as defined by standards specifications, such as, ETSI, ANSI, etc. Reports can be exported to PDF, Excel, etc., as in standard Crystal Reports. Nemo Analyze comes with default report templates. These reports include all essential KPIs. With Crystal Reports, users can create their own advanced reports based on custom SQL queries. Furthermore, Anite can also offer tailor-made reports.

11 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 10 Reports can be run over single files or multiple files and the source data for the report can be selected based on different attributes: time frame (e.g. last week), system, cell, measurement file(s), MNC (Mobile Network Code), area, or any combination of the mentioned attributes. Report generation can also be scheduled to occur automatically from a predefined folder, containing for instance new measurement files. Reports can also be generated through the Timeline view for samples of data.

12 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 11 In addition to creating report templates, it is also possible to run statistics over a single parameter directly from the UI. Statistics can be retrieved from a single file or over a folder with multiple files.

13 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION DATABASE ENGINE In Nemo Analyze, measurement data is stored in an SQL database so large sets of data can be easily stored, managed, and processed. File structure is maintained in the database. Thanks to that, performance of queries over measurement files is good regardless of the database size. The only limit for the number of measurement files in the database is the amount of free hard disk space. However, as the measurement files are automatically packed to take only 10% of the space they would otherwise require, a free hard disk space of 20Gb can contain up to 200Gb of measurement data. Measurement data (KPIs, signaling, etc.) are retrieved from the database using SQL queries. There are predefined queries for all parameters in menus so no actual database knowledge is required. For advanced users however, Nemo Analyze offers tools for creating custom queries. Also, the database has an open ODBC interface. This means that any third party SQL database tool can be used to retrieve data from the database. From the Nemo Analyze database users can easily retrieve measurements, e.g., from a certain week, and generate reports from these files to analyze the current trends in the network. With folder polygon selection, the user can select an area on a map with a polygon and search for measurements relevant to that area.

14 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 13 3 NEMO ANALYZE USER INTERFACE Nemo Analyze user interface is extremely flexible and versatile. The Ribbon bar as a combination of the menu bar and toolbar is highly usable and intuitive for the user. Users can create separate workbooks, for example, for UMTS, GSM, and inter-system data. Each workbook can still contain several pages and frames, such as, a map, layer 3 messages, decoded layer messages, idle mode data, connected mode data, etc. All workbooks and all pages inside the workbooks are synchronized. Nemo Analyze offers a wide range of readymade workbooks with pages for all relevant KPIs. Workbooks can also be scheduled to be run automatically on a predefined folder, containing for instance new measurement data. With the new Manual Layout Editor, the user can also manually create new custom layouts for workbook pages, each page consisting of any number of user-defined data views. All c ustom settings, such as workbooks, queries, layouts, color sets, KPIs, etc., can be imported and exported to enable sharing between colleagues. Ribbon bar You can switch among workbooks by clicking the tabs at the top of the window. Workspace displays the measurement files loaded to the database along with the BTS files, maps, data source files, and report templates. From the Parameter Tree you can load measurement data to be viewed in the various data views, e.g. by the easy drag&drop functionality.

15 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION GRAPHS The data views or controls are used to view and analyze measurement data. Windows can be adjusted and arranged to suit the user s working environment. Workbooks allow the organization of controls into different tabs for easier viewing. This is especially useful when there are several graphs and maps open at the same time. Nemo Analyze offers several methods for viewing measurement results, such as, line graphs, bar graphs, pie charts, surface grids and color grids. Color grid can be used with any two parameters and, for example, in a line graph there can be multiple layers, data from different measurements and/or queries, and user-definable x and y axes.

16 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION GRIDS Grids offer more detailed information on the measurement data. Grids can be used to display all sorts of data. Grid data is displayed in numerical format in user-defined columns and it can be saved as a delimited text file, exported to MapInfo format or exported directly to MS Excel. You can also use color sets to highlight certain data in the grid. The extensive search capabilities of Nemo Analyze make it also possible to search, for instance, textual values and decoded messages from grid data and limit the search, for instance, to columns selected by the user. The highlighted parameter can be filtered in, or filtered out to hide the parameter.

17 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION MAPS Nemo Analyze supports MapInfo raster and vector maps. It also supports MapX Geoset files (.gst) which enable the user to open several layers on a map and then save them all in a.gst file to be opened later on. All user-defined map settings, such as, the order of the different map layers and the zoom factor are stored in the.gst file. Base station icons can be displayed on a map. Also, a line from the test vehicle to the serving BTS can be drawn. When the measurement files contain positioning coordinates the measurement route is drawn on a map. Thus, it is easy to see the locations where events have occurred. Color Legends panel displays the parameter value ranges and the colors associated with them. Parameterbased route coloring. Nemo Analyze offers parameter-based route coloring. This means that you can observe the values of certain network parameters from the route coloring on the map. You can define which color refers to which parameter value. This way it is easy to spot the problem areas on a map. It is also possible to delta plot two measurements from the same route on map (i.e. route color based on the difference between two values). Also certain events can be shown as icons on the map. Furthermore, the map can display a base station overlay. With a user-defined BTS file, the map shows the location of each base station, the defined antennas with antenna directions, and even antenna apertures and cell identifying parameters. A line connecting the current location to the serving cell (sector) will be drawn automatically (in CDMA systems, even multiple lines can be drawn to active sectors). This provides a highly visual impression of the network operation. For example, it can be instantly seen if a call is connected to a non-optimal cell. Route coloring can also be used together with BTS files, the route coloring indicating the service areas and signal power of a selected antenna. With this feature, it is easy to optimize the service areas of single antennas. Maps can also be exported in a size defined by the user.

18 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 17 Area binning in statistical reporting enables the user to view statistics on a map. The bins show the average, min, max, std deviation, or count value of the parameter in each bin according to a color set. Area binning results can be exported to Excel

19 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 18 With polygon area selection it is possible to limit queries based on a user-defined area, i.e. by polygon area selection. For example, the results of a query can be limited to the user-defined part of a measurement route. In this case the chosen data view in which the query results are shown is a map, and only the user-defined area of the measurement route is colored with the color set.

20 NEMO ANALYZE 5.06 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 19 4 NEMO OPEN FILE FORMAT Nemo Outdoor produces measurement files in an open ASCII file format. Files can be directly imported to Nemo analysis tool Nemo Analyze as well as to various third party postprocessing/analysis tools. This is accomplished without any separate conversion or parsing of the files. Furthermore, measurement files from multiple test drives can be opened in Nemo Analyze as individual files and shown side by side or used in statistical quality survey report generator which saves the trouble of combining all measurements into one big and cumbersome file. A detailed description of the file format is included in the product user documentation. The file format description contains all recorded events and their parameters.

A portable engineering tool for measuring and monitoring the air interface of TETRA, TDMA, AMPS, cdmaone, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, CDMA2000, HSDPA, HSDPA 16QAM, HSUPA, TD-SCDMA, and UMA networks. Nemo Outdoor also supports DVB-H measurements. - with Indoor Option Nemo Outdoor is ideal for indoor measurements. Lightweight Tablet PC makes it is easy to carry and allows the user to plot the measurement route on a floorplan with a click of a pen. - with Multi Option Nemo Outdoor Multi enables benchmarking measurements on multiple networks and even on multiple technologies at the same time. Possibility to establish up to four simultaneous packet / circuit-switched data connections from test terminals. Nemo Q Nemo Q is a Symbian -based extremely lightweight and portable engineering tool for customer-assisted network problem solving in the air interface of wireless networks. Nemo Q supports measurements on GSM, GPRS, EDGE, and WCDMA networks.
