7 About the Author Jesse Feiler has been a user of Macs and Mac software since the beginning in Through his consulting company, North Country Consulting (www. northcountryconsulting.com), he provides services to small businesses and nonprofits, with an emphasis on FileMaker and OS X. He is also the author of the MinutesMachine app for managing meetings. Active in the community, he has served on a variety of nonprofit boards and projects primarily in community development, the arts, and public libraries. The New York State Association of Library Boards honored him with an award for exemplary service and dedication to libraries in part for his role in bringing public access Internet to small rural libraries in upstate New York. Jesse has written extensively on OS X (and its precursor, Rhapsody), FileMaker, and Apple technologies, such as Core Data and Objective-C, as well as mobile devices and tools, such as Drupal. He lives in Plattsburgh, New York with a rescued greyhound, Rex, who has been absolutely no help on this (or any other) book.
