2 Streamline Your Workflow with EDIUS Pro NLE Software Import Edit Output EDIUS Pro provides simple, streamlined and responsive controls for importing media into a project. EDIUS Pro capturing modes not only include industry-standard options for batch capturing and scenedetection, but also allow editors to perform three and four-point edits of footage from an external VTR and place them directly onto the timeline.to provide easier integration of EDIUS-based editing systems into any production environment, EDIUS Pro supports import and export of BVE5000, BVE9100, CMX340 and CMX3600 EDL files. With EDL support and the timeline reconstruction features, EDIUS Pro offers strong offline editing support, regardless of the video format being used. Using the realtime Video Layout Tool, resolution changes can be previewed and output instantly. Featuring keyframed animation capabilities within both 2D and 3D spaces, TitleMotion Pro can produce polished, broadcast titles within minutes. TitleMotion Pro titles can be created and stored within the Bin window, or created directly from the editing timeline. VST Audio Plug-in Support In addition to the included audio filters, EDIUS Pro can make use of any third-party audio effects that make use of the Virtual Studio Technology (VST) interface standard. This allows any number of additional realtime audio effects to plug into EDIUS Pro for more sophisticated audio editing. Output a Variety of Formats in Realtime Grass Valley EDIUS Pro software not only provides realtime mixed format editing, but also realtime video output directly from the timeline. Operating solely with OHCI FireWire controllers, EDIUS Pro can deliver constant realtime DV output. When combined with any Canopus realtime editing hardware, EDIUS Pro can also provide realtime output to a number of other video formats, ranging from uncompressed analog SD and HD, right up to HD-SDI. When outputting video from the EDIUS Pro timeline, all aspect ratio conversions between 4:3 & 16:9 video, frame rate conversions including NTSC & PAL, and resolution conversions between standard & high-definition video are processed in realtime. Content created with EDIUS Pro can also be switched from HD to SD and vice versa. For example, EDIUS Pro can automatically upscale a mix of SD MPEG-2 and DV footage for playback in HD resolutions. EDIUS can also downscale an HD project that features HDV clips and output in DV, all in realtime. Realtime output not only provides instant results to tape or video monitors, but also delivers any video in the format required.

4 Broad Video Equipment Connectivity and Control EDIUS Pro software provides complete compatibility and support for OHCI FireWire-equipped PCs. Although EDIUS Pro is designed to work offline and independently of any video hardware, its support for IEEE 1394 OHCI FireWire controllers provides editors with connectivity to HD devices, such as the HDV cameras and decks manufactured by Sony, JVC, Canon, and Panasonic DVCPRO HD* VTRs, such as the AJ-HD1200A, as well as all standard FireWire-equipped SD decks and cameras. * DVCPRO HD compatibility requires the EDIUS Broadcast upgrade. Export to All Widely Used Formats Upon completion of a project, EDIUS Pro offers export support to all widely used file formats and mediums with ProCoder Express for EDIUS. Built with the same high-speed, high-quality encoding and media technology found in Canopus ProCoder 2.0, ProCoder Express for EDIUS exports to QuickTime and Windows Media, as well as to MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DV, HDV and more. With ProCoder Express for EDIUS, any project can be exported and burned directly to DVD from the timeline, complete with chapter points.
