The whole operation relies on the well established MA philosophy and is highly intuitive. Even if you have never used video before you will instantly feel at home with the MA VPU. Via four DVI-out connectors (MA VPU pro) you can control four individual outputs with one MA VPU. Thanks to the power of the MA VPU you can display all your videos also in Full-HD (1,080p) or HD (720p in case of the MA VPU basic). Furthermore the internal output synchronisation of the MA-Net2/MA-Net ensures the highest frame and DMX synchronicity. To scale your video to any size desired by your own imagination just use the valuable horizontal and vertical softedge blending, the keystone correction and enjoy expressive show designs you have never seen before. Size doesn t matter anymore. More than that the MA VPU offers a convenient 3D Keystoning functionality and enables you to fit your content to any 3D objects irrespective of size and shape. If there is a video running too fast or too slow, just use frame interpolation and smooth speed control to adjust the playback. Beyond that there is a myriad of functions, features and effects available like frame blending, colour booster, dynamic colour key, contrast, brightness, hue, saturation as well as blur, sepia, black/white, ocean and invert. All of them can be easily accessed and are self-explanatory in their use. Combinations of video and still images can be mixed and controlled, and JPEG images and standard windows bitmap images such as *.bmp as well as *.gif are supported. As MA Lighting uses Microsoft DirectShow to render the textures (pictures) it will need a codec to be able to read these pictures. 6 Get in touch Simple setup and monitoring via the 7 touchscreen Visual Output Control System Monitoring & Diagnostic The preview screen of the MA VPU plus and MA VPU pro offers a perfect overview of which content is send to each of the four outputs (MA VPU pro) or the two outputs (MA VPU plus). The MA VPU plus and MA VPU pro offer an efficient workload screen. By this users can see the current status of the whole showfile in the network. Connectivity Overview Priorising Fixtures Whenever needed the network screen gives a quick overview of all MA components in the network and their current status. This allows you to check the installed software versions or monitor whether all components are up and running. Thanks to the smart MA-Net2/MA-Net you can assign each of the connected MA VPU to do the output for your screens. If a MA VPU fails it is possible to easily select your backup MA VPU via the MA VPU touchscreen and use it instead. If you have no backup MA VPU you can select another MA VPU of your system which you think is not that important and assign it to a more relevant screen. Please also switch video output via a crossbar. 33

7 Shape your content Valuable features for your show 3D Keystone Correction Your content is ready, your MA VPU running but what about your screen? The MA VPU offers a professional solution to adjust projected images and videos to any 3D surface comfortably from the grandma console. Our 3D Keystone Correction function recalculates the image and shows it correctly aligned to the projection surface, whatever the projector s position. Additionally, the projection can be scaled across both X- and Y- directions to distribute the content precisely onto the canvas. This offers infinite creative possibilities: e.g. projecting the animated surface of your choice onto a ball is no problem with 3D Keystone Correction, and neither is displaying a video on a heavily bending or distorted canvas. Whatever the shape or size of the screen with 3D Keystone Correction you ll always be on the safe side. Pixel Mapper Because of the Pixel Mapper there are no limits to using LEDs in your design in every creative way imaginable. With the Pixel Mapper it is possible to display video content on any DMX- Matrix so you can put your LED-screens, LED-panels, LED-strips etc. everywhere on stage and can control them easily. While video on plasma screens or video walls is caught in a defined ratio, LED fixtures can use all kinds of measurements. The picture can also be aligned on pixels which don t have fixed aspect ratios. LED Video Projection LED Similar to the desk fixture types the attributes of the LED panels are defined in text files located in a folder of the MA VPU. LED fixtures can be easily created. The intensity and colour information of each video pixel is translated into DMX values and directly sent from the MA VPU to the LED fixture via Ethernet using Art-Net.
