4 4 Section 4a Energy Performance Certificate For solar PV customers with an installed capacity of up to 250KW only Opus Energy Ltd are required to check energy efficiency requirements for every solar PV installation up 250KW, including extensions, with the exception of stand-alone systems. A stand-alone system is installation not attached to a property and the energy generated is not used to condition the indoor climate for example heating and cooling systems. PV installations requiring an accompany EPC must achieve an EPC level of D or above to receive the higher rate tariff, provided the multi installation tariff does not apply. If an EPC cannot be issued for the building to which the PV system is attached then it is the responsibility of the generator (owner) to provide evidence. One option to demonstrate this could be a document from an EPC assessor which confirms it was not possible to obtain an EPC on the relevant building and the reasons why. This must be submitted to us with all the information OFGEM require. All applications for new solar PV installations (including extensions to existing installations) will need to be accompanied with the attached declaration forms. Please note: if you do not have a relevant EPC document the lower rate tariff will apply. Please provide the EPC unique reference number EPC date of issue? This assessment is final, once submitted a further EPC cannot be submitted with the expectation of receiving the higher tariff. EPC date of completion has to be on or before commissioning of the installation. Section 5 - Generator accreditation The generating station must be accredited to one of the following schemes to be eligible for FIT payments. Generation equipment up to 50KW in size must be MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) accredited (excluding anaerobic digestion units). Please indicate which scheme the generating unit is accredited to: MCS serial number (You must include a copy of your MCS accreditation certificate in order for your application to proceed.) You must not sign this form and send it until you have had the equipment installed and commissioned. For example, if you are installing solar PV, the panels must already be in their final, permanent position, have been connected to the electricity supply by an MCS or equivalent registered installer and the meter must be fitted and operational. Audit checks are in place to monitor for scheme misuse and you may be prosecuted if fraudulent activity is found to have taken place.
