3 Introduction Annual Progress Reports for Macquarie Research Centre (MQRC) are prepared, submitted and reviewed online via Research Master Network (RMENET) in the Integrated Research Information System (IRIS). How to Log In Go to: Use your OneID Username and Password (username is normally your staff number) Who should use this form Centre Directors and their assistants who would like to submit Annual Progress Reports for their Centres. This manual will help you to accurately input your data into the form and to submit your annual progress report through the online form in RMENET Before you start Ensure that you have an uninterrupted connection to the internet before login. Install a working web browser (current preferred browser: Firefox) Allow pop up windows for the IRIS website (i.e. Getting help In addition to this instructional guide, there are several ways to get help or find information to assist you: You will be greeted with the home screen. Go to the dropdown menu Projects >> My Project Requests. Creating a new Annual Progress Report (APR) After you have navigated to My Project Request, you can create an APR by selecting Create RPR >> MQRC Annual Progress Report. 4 System Navigations Once the report form is opened, you will be presented with several window panes and icons 1. Left hand side pane Reports, Page Comments, Help, Exit 3. Main Pane The main pane displays information and questions of the form. You may click on any of the active links without navigating away from your form. This is the navigation pane containing sections of the report form. There are two tabs visible in this left hand side pane: 1) Form This contains the hyperlink index to each section of the online forms. Also available, the option to expand or collapse the section tree of the form. It is advisable that you fill in the form sequentially. 2) Action Asterisk Any field marked with a red asterisk is a mandatory field and must be completed before you can progress. Help Icon Context sensitive help is available for some questions in the form by clicking the blue question mark icon. The Action tab contains action links to: Submit Click this link to submit your progress report. Progress Report Click this link to send pdf version of your report to yourself / other people. Delete draft Click this link to delete your report draft. 2. Right hand top pane This pane contains navigational icons, available throughout your application Next Page Icon This icon is displayed on the right hand bottom corner. This will take you to the next section. Clicking this icon will also automatically save the application Confirm or Cancel Icon table entry. These icon will be shown on the lower right hand corner on any subwindows appearing as a part of a Research Master will save when you move to the Next Page, but please also remember to Save as you go! These are, respectively: Next Page, Save, Application Comments 4
5 Completing new MQRC APR Section 1. Centre Information Enter the Research Centre Name here Personnel Details Only alternative contact and Centre Director s name should be listed under Question 1.2. As the creator of the form, your details will be automatically added to the project as Alternative Contact. Click on your name to change your position if you are the Centre Director. If you are not the Centre Director, you will need to add the Centre Director s name. Selecting the person you want from the list will automatically add him/her Note: When multiple entries for the same person appear always choose the one with MQ ID attached to it. Some of the fields are automatically filled in from the database. This is a read only greyed field. MQRC Project Adding Centre Director s name The most straight forward method for searching is to enter a MQ staff number and then use the magnifying glass icon to execute the search The search function is able to handle first or last name search. However depending how common the searched name is, the search function may take a while to load and could return too many results. If you would like to search by any other criteria, you can use the More Criteria hyperlink. Selecting this will open up an expanded view where you can search further details. Clear to clear all fields entered and Cancel to return. Reporting Period The default reporting period is 1 January to 31 December in the current year. Please change the reporting period, if necessary. Section 2. Activity Details Specifically for question 2.2 and 2. 4, you have the option to either provide the details under and boxes or attach a completed word template document which can be downloaded via the link provided within the eform, and also here: 2.2 Acitivites & Outcomes 2.4 Planned Activities 5
6 Submitting MQRC APR Your annual progress report will be automatically forwarded to the Research office upon submission. To Submit: 1. Go to Action tab on the left hand side 2. Click Proceed to Signoff After you have submitted your MQRC APR Once you have submitted your APR, you will receive an APR Submitted confirmation . You can keep track of your report s progress within RMENET. As your APR is reviewed, you will receive further notifications to let you know when: Your APR has been reviewed and finalised by Your submission is Incomplete and additional information are requested. Reviewing Comments A warning message will appear should you try to submit an incomplete report. You may want to click Expand to check which sections of your application are still incomplete. These are marked by the red question mark in front of the section as show in the example below. Comments (if any) from the and/or the Centres panel will be displayed under Section A: Review >> Comments Progress Report Progress Report link will enabled you to your progress report (or any of the attachments you have included) should you wish to a copy to yourself or other parties. Delete Application Delete Draft link will delete your current annual progress report draft completely. Note: Care should be taken as this action cannot be undone. The report will be completely removed from the system and unrecoverable. 6
7 Responding to Changes Requested on your application On the rare occasion where the and/or the Centres Panel request changes or additional information to your APR, you will receive an notification requesting additional information Access your APR by going to: to the dropdown menu Projects >> My Project Requests. On the left pane of the screen you ll see My Project Request (RPR) >> Amend under My applications. In there you ll see the report that needs to be amended: Click on the APR title to open the record. Make the changes required and remember to save your APR by clicking the save button 7
