2 ASME-PC Connect overview ASME Personnel Certification (ASME PC) is excited to announce a new on-line application and certification maintenance program. This new program will make securing and maintaining your certification with ASME PC easier and more efficient. This brief tutorial is an overview of the steps one would follow to complete and submit their application for ASME staff review and the subsequent steps which will lead to full certification. After a candidate has been accepted into the requested Level and Methodology, they will be issued an acceptance letter which outlines the steps to make an appointment and execute their Written Exam at a Prometric Testing Center of your choosing. Candidates will be notified of their performance. If successful, a candidate will be guided via s to execute their Practical Demonstration Exam (PDE) and if successful how to maintain their certification. If a candidate is not successful, retest options will be outlined via s to the candidate at the various testing steps. As is the primary channel of communication, it is important that a candidate use a stable address to ensure they receive important information as they progress through and subsequently maintain their certification(s). It is also important that communications are not blocked by spam filters. Candidates should add Asmepcconnect@learningbuilder.com to their contacts and make the same recommendation to references which will be approving work history, Qualification Cards and training. When appropriate, certificate holders will be issued a notifications that it is time to renew their certification(s) should it be something in which they are interested in maintaining. There will also be periodic notices to update/maintain mailing address, address, etc. Updating your personal information for mailing and contact purposes: You will be able to log into ASME-PC Connect anytime and edit your personal administrative data, such as address, physical mailing address or telephone numbers. It is recommended that applicants verify their data after engaging the Begin button which opens their respective application. Engaging the My Account tab will present you with the data ASME has associated with your application. The My Account tab is located in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Please review and should you need to modify the data, please use the update link located in the instruction set for this page. Should you need to change any of this data, you will be asked to provide your sign on information again ( address and password) as a security requirement. You will be presented with a Manage My Account screen. For your changes to be reflected, you will log out of the Manage My Account system and log-in again to ASME-PC Connect which will refresh your data. On this screen you will also note a My Library and My Communications tab. It is under these tabs you will find a listing of the communications sent to you as a user of ASME-PC Connect. 2

3 Overview of the ANDE UT Level III Provisional new application process The ANDE UT Level III Provisional program is a transitional program which will assist ASME in launching the full ANDE UT Level II and Level III programs. This is a timed program which will be available for a transitional time frame. It can lead to full ANDE UT Level III certification should the applicant successfully meet the requirements of this transitional program. For a complete overview of the ANDE program, please refer to the ANDE Applicant Information handbook. Prospective candidates must purchase their examination at ASMEPCLLC.org. Please use ANDE Application Process and Testing to purchase and initiate the certification process. 3

4 By selecting the appropriate link, you will be required to log into ASME s shopping cart to provide a secure on-line payment. Once ASME has processed your order, you will be issued an within 24 hours providing a link and instructions to log into ASME-PC Connect: Here is the login screen for ASME-PC Connect: Completing the ANDE UT Level III Provisional application: When you initially log into ASME-PC connect you will be presented with the application(s) you requested. All you will need to do is select the Begin button. You will then be presented with the application which will need to be completed, some data will need to be verified by references and once all is completed formally submitted to ASME PC for review. As you enter data and submit it for either a reference review of final ASME review, the button will be grey and labeled Awaiting Review. Below is an image of the application: 4

5 You will need to select the orange Document Education button under the Education block and complete the data as required: 5

6 Please note that you will need to upload an image of the actual diploma for the level of education you are citing. Once you have finished entering the data, please engage the Submit button to save the data to your application. Next you will need to document your current NDE certification by selecting the orange Enter Certification button. You will be prompted to enter data to document at least 5 years of actual certification should your current certification have an expiration date in the future: 6

7 There are several certifying organizations listed in the pull down list. Should your organization not be listed, please use the Other option. You will be required to upload an image as proof of your current certification. Next you will need to document your work experience. To being, please select the Add Work Experience to start to enter your work experience which must total at least 60 months. You may engage the Add Work Experience button as many time as necessary to document the 60 months requirement. 7

8 Once this data has been entered, please click on the Position Details tab or the Next button to enter your Position Details. 8

9 This data will need to be verified by the reference you have identified. Once you hit the submit button, the reference will be sent an containing the data you have entered above and asked to approve it or decline the data. As ASME- PC Connect uses as primary form of communication, please inform your reference that an will be sent to them and to ensure their spam filter does not block s from: You may engage the Add Work Experience button as many time as need to thoroughly document your work history. You will be notified by of their response(s). Under the Documentation Required section of the application, there are three required uploads: 1. ANDE Photo: the candidate is required to upload a clear photo (jpeg file) of a recent headshot, no more than 10 years old. This file should be sized equal to or less then 40k comparable to a normal passport photo requirement (2" x 2"). Please use the naming scheme of lastname, firstname. 2. ANDE Vision Certificate: a candidate is required to upload a validated annual employer approved eye examination results document. This validation must be reported on employer letterhead and clearly detail the signature/contact data of the individual who is validating these results. Please refer to ANDE-1 Standard, section for the definition of an employer and section for an overview of the required items which must be covered by this employer based eye examination. 3. NDE Training: the documented experience should encompass a broad base of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code examination/inspection activities. 9

10 Once all of the data has been submitted both by the candidate directly and having some data out for review by the identified reference, the application will look like this: Notice the differences in the button labels. Those requirements which require a reference s approval are appropriately labeled. In this example, the two items requiring feedback are the Work Experience and the NDE Training Provisional. The candidate will be notified by when the reference has reviewed the data submitted and either approved it or disapproved it. The will instruct the candidate to log back into ASME-PC Connect and if all of the data is approved, the orange Submit Application button will be available: 10

11 Submitting a completed application Once you have addressed all of the requirements outlined above, you will be instructed to log back into ASME-PC Connect and engage the orange Submit Application button. 11

14 Once you click this button, you will be asked to accept the terms and conditions for this examination: If accepted, you application status will be changed to under review: Once you have formally submitted your application for review, you will be issued an stating your application is under review and that ASME will notify you within 30 days. If you application is approved you will notified and issued an ANDE UT Level III Provisional credential package. If your application is deemed in sufficient in meeting the requirements, ASME will begin a dialog to possible resolve the insufficiencies or terminate the application process. 14
