Scroll down 10 lines. 7. Return to the WORKING-STORAGE SECTION by using the LOCATE command. 8. Display the COLS line. 9. Use the RESET command to delete the COLS line. 10. Find the total number of occurrences of the character string "WS-". 11. Find the total number of occurrences of the character string "WS-". 12. Turn HEX mode on. 13. Turn HEX mode off. 14. 6 4 Editing Create a member named COMPRESS in the partitioned dataset named.jcl. 2. Copy into COMPRESS the member JOBCARD, which already exists in the JCL dataset. 3. Change the first seven characters of the jobname, and the value in the NOTIFY parameter, to your userid. 4. Insert the following lines after the JOB card: //STEP1 EXEC PGM=IEBCOPY //SYSIN DD DUMMY //SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=* //SYSUT1 DD DSN=xxxxxx.TSO.COBOL,DISP=SHR //SYSUT2 DD DSN=xxxxxx.TSO.COBOL,DISP=SHR //SYSUT3 DD UNIT=SYSDA,SPACE=(TRK,(2,2)) //SYSUT4 DD UNIT=SYSDA,SPACE=(TRK,(2,2)) 5. Terminate EDIT, saving the data you've copied and entered. 6. Edit the member in dataset. 7. Change the PROGRAM-ID to SAMPLE. 8. Change the AUTHOR to TEAMx, where x is your team number. 9. Repeat the 14th and 15th lines, then change the new lines to read as follows: Comment line 1 Comment line Delete from the program all references to EXTRA-FILE. 11. Move the LINKAGE SECTION and place it after the WORKING-STORAGE SECTION. 12. Find all occurrences of the character string "CDP". 13. Change all occurrences of "CDP" to "XYZ". 14. Find all occurrences of the character string "XYZ". Does the number of string found match with the value from step Find the last occurrence of 140-PRINT. 16. 7 5 Editing Shift the next three lines x columns to the right, in order that they will be properly indented under the IF statement that has been inserted. 2. Terminate EDIT by pressing PF3. 3. Examine the statistics in the Member Selection List. 4. Create a new member in. 5. Enter in employee data in the following columns: ITEM POSITION SSN 1 NAME 10 DEPT 50 SALARY Insert a few records. 7. Delete a record Use the block delete to delete a few records Undo the deletes. 8. Repeat a line 3 times. 9. Copy the top line to the bottom line. 10. Create a MASK with a template for the above data format Use the template Remove the MASK. 11. Shift all the lines two characters to the right Shift all the lines two characters to the left. 12. Turn on the ruler before a line Remove the ruler. 13. Display the profile. Is NULLS turn on or off? Remove the profile. 14. Find a SSN but only search in columns Change all BERG to BURG. 16. 8 6 Examining Output 1. Submit and compile a program using the JCL supplied by the instructor Examine the compiler listing. 2. Select option The Outlist Utility Panel will be displayed. 4. Select option L. Your job name, job id and the status of your will be displayed. 5. Repeat step 4 if necessary, until your job has finished executing. 6. Enter your job name and select option blank. 7. Your output listing will be displayed. 8. Find the section of the listing that begins with the heading "ERROR MESSAGES." 9. Split the screen. 10. Edit on the second screen. 11. Correct all of the errors in the source program. 12. Use =X on the bottom screen to terminate leaving only the compiler output listing displayed on the screen. 13. Use PF3 to end the browse display of the outlist. 14. Select option D. 15. Your output will be deleted. 16. Recompile the program. 17. If necessary, repeat steps Use PF3 to end the browse. 19. 9 7 Dataset and Library Maintenance 1. Create a library Select Option 3.2; this will bypass the Utility Selection Menu and bring up the Data Set Utility Panel Set the ISPF LIBRARY to Press ENTER. The Data Set Information Panel will be displayed again Press PF Select option A. Set ISPF LIBRARY to xxxxxx.test.cobol Press ENTER The Allocate New Data Set Panel will be displayed; the data from the Data Set Information Panel is retained Press ENTER. The new dataset will be allocated. This technique of using information from one dataset to allocate another dataset with the same characteristics is a common practice. 2. Copy selected members into it Enter =3.3 and press Enter The first Move/Copy Utility Panel will be displayed Select option C Set the FROM ISPF LIBRARY to Press ENTER The second TO Move/Copy Utility Panel will be displayed Set the TO ISPF LIBRARY field to Press ENTER A selection list will be displayed. Select the two members SAMPLE and SKELETON by entering 'S' in the selection column Press ENTER. '*COPIED or REPL will appear in the name column next to both of the selected member names. Create a dataset uid.claims.data with the following characteristics: STORAGE CLASS : 5 Primary Tracks 10 Secondary Tracks Sequential Dataset (QSAM) with no directory blocks Fixed block (FB) Record Format 100 byte record length Default block size 4. Rename uid.claims.data to uid.claims2.data. 5. Given the dataset information option, what volume is the dataset stored on? 6. Use the LISTDS command, confirm that it is a PO dataset. 7. Edit the PDS and add one member called MYMEMB. 8. Rename the member to MEMB. 9. Print the MEMB to a LIST dataset. 10. Delete the member MEMB. 11. Delete the dataset Press PF3. Rename and delete members Enter =3.1 and press Enter The Library Utility Panel will be displayed Set ISPF LIBRARY to Press ENTER A member selection list will be displayed Rename member SAMPLE to MBR203XN Delete member SKELETON Press ENTER 'RENAMED' and 'DELETED' will appear in the name column next to the corresponding member names Press PF MEMBERS PROCESSED' will appear in the upper right hand corner of the Library Utility Panel. 13. Display Data Set Information and delete dataset Enter =3.2 and press Enter The Data Set Utility Panel will be displayed again Verify that ISPF LIBRARY is set to Press ENTER Examine the Data Set Information display. Since the member SKELETON was deleted, the number of members should equal Press PF Select option D Press ENTER. Read the CONFIRM DELETE panel, making sure that the DATA SET NAME field is filled in correctly. It should be Press ENTER 'DATA SET DELETED' will appear in the right hand corner of the Data Set Utility Panel SYS-ED/COMPUTER EDUCATION TECHNIQUES, INC. (: 11.3) APP B: Page 10

List the catalog Enter =3.4 and press Enter The Dataset Management Utility Panel will be displayed Enter your userid in the NAME Level field Enter field Press ENTER A listing of the catalog will be displayed Use PF8 to scroll down through this listing. The dataset, was deleted in step 4 and should not appear in this catalog listing Delete the listing Enter =1 and press Enter. 15. Browse in order to assure that a load module has been created Create a dataset uid.mystuff.data with the following characteristics: STORAGE CLASS : 5 Primary Tracks 10 Secondary Tracks Partitioned Dataset (PDS) with 30 directory blocks Fixed block (FB) Record Format 80 byte record length Default block size 16. Use the COPY utility (3.3), to copy all members from that start with D into uid.mystuff.data. 17. Use the COPY utility (3.3), to copy the dataset into a single member in uid.mystuff.data Ignore any truncation message. SYS-ED/COMPUTER EDUCATION TECHNIQUES, INC. (: 11.3) APP B: Page 11
13 8 Command Procedures and Dialogs 1. Code a procedure which accepts: 1.1. A positional parameter with a JOBNAME A keyword parameter with a userid; the default should be the userid. 2. Using the supplied information, code the CLIST to generate: 2.1. A JOB card with JOBNAME A NOTIFY that uses the userid. 3. In addition to the JOB card which has been generated, create a STEP card: //STEP10 EXEC PGM=IEFBR14 4. Submit the job using the CLIST. SYS-ED/COMPUTER EDUCATION TECHNIQUES, INC.
