1 Creating, Removing and Modifying Users in the DVR This guide will show you how to add users, modify users, and delete users on the DVR so other people can log in and provide them or block them from accessing any and all menus and functions of the DVR. In just a few steps you can create a user who will have access to the DVR itself as well as through internet and phones. Step 1. Right click anywhere on the DVR screen with the mouse plugged in to the DVR. When the context menu comes up like below click on Main Menu The DVR will ask you for a Username and password. Defaults are User Name: and Password : or User Name: admin and Password: admin Enter the proper information and then click Ok. This will take you to the Main Menu.

2 Once in the Main Menu click on the Advanced button. This will open the Advanced Menu as seen below. Now click on Account. This is where you can add, delete, and modify the usernames and passwords on your DVR

3 Add User This will create a new user which you choose the settings and privileges for on your DVR. Modify User Here you can change the access any user has. You can grant more privileges or take them away as you see fit. Modify Password Here you can change the password for any and all users on the DVR. You do not even need to know the original password just enter and confirm the new password here. ****If you ever lose, forget, or misplace the password and can not get in to your DVR call us or us support@cctvsecuritypros.com and after confirming that you are the owner of the DVR we will get you a master password to get you in to modify the password***** Add Group/Modify Group Here you can create or modify groups. Groups give an automatic set of settings to a user. Use these to make a bunch of new users quickly with the same options. If you are just making one or two new accounts we recommend just keeping them as part of the admin group and choosing what options they have one by one.

4 In the Add User window enter your new user name and password and confirm the password. We recommend the password to be 8 characters or less because our PSS software has a limit of 8 characters.. In the Authority box, there are numerous options for you to enable or disable based on your needs. Below is a list of what each option does. *****By default when you create a new user the only option disabled is User Account. If you make a new user and do not put a checkmark in the User Account box (see above image)***** Once you finish inputting the information click Save at the bottom of the screen. You have now successfully set up a new user.

5 Authority List Definitions: Control Panel Allows access to menus. Shutdown The Device Allows user to shut down the device using the button on front of the DVR. Monitor Allows user to watch live video. This line will quickly disable or enable all channels. Monitor CH_1, CH_2, etc. - Allows watching of live video on the channel number. Replay Allows user to watch recorded video. This line will quickly disable or enable all channels. Replay CH_1, CH_2, etc. - Allows user to watch recording of specific channels. Record Allows access to Record menu. Backup Allows user to backup recordings. Hardisk Management / HDD Manage- Allows access to the HDD Manage menu. Pan/Tilt/Zoom Control Allows access to the Pan Tilt Zoom Menu. User Account Allows access to the Account Menu. Query System Info Allows access to system info including firmware version, build date, etc. Alarm I/O Config Allows access to Alarm Input Output settings. System Config Allows access to System Config menu. Query Log Info Allows access to the log information on the DVR. Clear Log Allows user to delete all the log entries. System Update Allows user to update the firmware on the DVR. Control The Device Auto Maintenance Allows user to set reboot schedules and auto deletion of recordings General Allows access to the General menu Encode - Allows access to the Encode menu Schedule - Allows access to the Schedule menu RS232 - Allows access to the RS232 menu Network- Allows access to the Network menu Alarm - Allows access to the Alarm menu Detect - Allows access to the Detect menu Pan/Tilt/Zoom - Allows access to the Pan/Tilt/Zoom menu Display - Allows access to the Display menu Default - Allows access to the Default menu Data Format Allows user to change the format of saved files. Remote Device On NVR and IP Systems only allows access to adding network cameras to the NVR/DVR Config Backup Allows user to backup DVR and NVR settings Video Matrix Allows access to Video Matrix Menu TV Adjust Allows access to TV Adjust Menu Text Overlay Allows user to edit the text that appears on live and recorded video. Color Setting Allows user access to change the color settings on the cameras. Depending on your version of firmware the selections might be out of order or have different numbers or might be named a little differently.
