Set GUI Mode: This block sets the GUI mode. Value zero is normal, 1=xor, and 2=trans. Clear Screen: This block is used to clear the display screen, and corresponds to message ID 0x426. The trigger is a function trigger in. The next output is a function trigger, to trigger the next block in a logic chain, or can be terminated using a terminator block. Up, Down, and Menu buttons: These blocks are used to trigger an event when the up, menu, or down buttons are pressed. The update is a function trigger, and the Asserted value is a Boolean. The Asserted value is one when the button is pressed, and the function trigger is enabled whenever a message is received on the Button Pressed Can Message, 0x42F. Just note that the Button Pressed Message is used for the Up, Menu, and Down buttons meaning the function call will happen for any of those three circumstances.
Draw Rectangle: The x0, and y0 are the starting points, and x1 and y1 are the end points of the rectangle. The line and fill color is 1 for black and 0 for no color with line color making a black outline of the rectangle and the fill coloring the inside of the rectangle. Draw Bitmap: The draw Bitmap function relates to the Draw Bitmap message. Bitmap number allows the user to choose between 5 pre-programmed symbols. Draw Prompt Select: The draw prompt select block uses four blocks to make an output. It will output either a display of up arrow, SEL, and down arrow in a row. This tells the customer to select up or down. You can also put custom text instead of select. The string # (a uint8 input) and intr_str (Boolean input) work together. The intr_str value determines whether you output the default display. When set to one the display will always show the default. When set to zero the text will come from the string # stored in the display. If you send the text for at string index 8 set string # =8 and intr_str=0 then the display would replace sel with for. If the string # is set to a string location which no value has stored it will default to showing sel. When the topbot (Boolean input) value is set to 0 the display will output the string on the top of the screen, and if set to 1 it will output the value on the bottom of the screen. The offs_v (uint8 input) is a vertical offset that moves the string down the page, so topbot must be set to 0.
Send String Block: The send string block works by using the String Transfer message. It sends the string information to the display; you can send 16 strings numbered 0 to 15. The string number denotes what string you are sending, and string value is the actual string to be sent in a matrix of uint8 values. Send Substring (page 0-2): Works the same as the send string block, but allows you to send the message in pieces. Draw String:
The Draw String block works off the draw string message. It takes the string information sent to the display using the Send String block and draws it on the display. The string # info tells the display which string to draw, it can store 16 strings, numbered 0 to 15. The x and y information is the starting location of drawing the screen. The font value changes the size of the drawing string. The larger the value gives a larger font size. Value 0 is 4x6 bits, Value 1 is 6x8 bits, and value 3 is 8x15 bits. The horizontal center and vertical center options allows the user to center the string, no matter what the x and y values are. It works such that when the horizontal and/or vertical center is 0 the x and y location determine string location. When the horizontal and vertical center are set at none, a zero value it will center the string. Vertical center centers the y-axis, while horizontal centers the x-axis. String Wrap will wrap the string that cannot fit on the line the string is at, to the line below. When this value is set to non-zero it will string wrap, when it is zero it will not wrap. Font line color will set what color the string is. It can either be white with a black ground, when set to value 0. Or it can be black with a white background, when set to value 1. Font fill color is superfluous and does not control anything, can be set to any value. Draw Vline: The Draw Vline block The draw vertical line block allows the user to draw a vertical line. The x value is the location of the vertical line; y0 and y1 are the starting and ending points. Line color is set to 1 to be black, and 0 for no color. Fill color does not control anything with this block. Draw Hline: The draw horizontal line block allows the user to draw a horizontal line. The y value is the location of the horizontal line; x0 and x1 are the starting and ending points. Line color is set to 1 to be black, and 0 for no color. Fill color does not control anything with this block.
Draw Prompt Next: The draw prompt next block uses four blocks to make an output. It will output either a display of up arrow, next, and down arrow in a row. Other useful blocks: Print String Block: The Print String block will format an incoming matrix of uint8 values to output ASC2 string values. You can select the number of input ports you want, and for each input port flat it as %s for a string output or %d for an integer output. Just note this block does not work with GCC 4.4 powerpc_eabispe, but works with all other compilers. This block is very useful for formatting numbers and characters to be used displaying objects on the screen.
String Format Block: This is a custom block that can be used with the print string block to format the string output so the send string blocks can be used. It is a simple trigger/ stateflow block that is available in the example model up on the wiki.
