2 After the installation is complete, you are ready to run AKCess Pro Server for the first time. Find the shortcut on your desktop for AKCess Pro and double click to run the program. The first window that will be displayed is the login window. In this example we will assume you are logging onto a remote server with the IP address Note: when selecting the Local machine option, you don t need to specify the login details. You ll get logged in with the admin account and password you specified at the setup. For a remote server login, enter your user name and password, and then click "OK". Wait until the system initializes. Updated until Version

3 After you log in to the AKCess Pro Server, you will be taken directly to the main interface of the application. If you re running the program for the very first time, a first-run wizard will start to show you the main areas of the application, but you may close it any time. Updated until Version

4 Let's take a look at the 4 main areas shown on the main user interface in a little more detail: Workspace Window This is the area in which you will view all your sensor, camera, and access control data. Multiple desktops can be created in order to streamline your workflow and easily access all your information at any time. Desktops can have cameras, graphs or maps dropped on them and can be detached by right clicking and choosing detach. All created workspaces are listed in this window; the first workspace is called "Desktop #1" by default. We will look at adding and arranging new workspaces in another manual. Updated until Version

5 serverexplorer Window This window is broken down into 3 tabs which will list all devices which have been added to AKCess Pro Server, as well as any maps which can be created within the program. For more information on mapping, check the Mapping manual. Help Window The help window will display various information about AKCess Pro Server when you click on a feature within the program. If at any point you're not sure what something does, look here! To open it, choose Help View Help menu option, or use the CTRL+H key combination. Updated until Version

6 Navigation Toolbar Using the icons in the Navigation Toolbar, you can access the different areas of the program quickly. You can also reach these areas by using shortcut keys (see below at the View menu). Updated until Version

7 Menu structure We ll go through a brief overview of the menu structure in AKCess Pro Server. Server menu Here you can manage your Workspaces, change user (Log Off) or entirely quit the program. View menu Here you can change some options for the user interface (running the program in full screen, show/hide the Navigation toolbar), view log files and access the different areas of the program (the Navigation toolbar has the same function). Note the shortcut keys after each command; these can make your work easier. Updated until Version

8 Settings menu This menu contains various system settings. Using the Device Configuration, you can change properties for devices associated with the AKCess Pro Server (for example DCU, SEC). You can modify the Shutdown Schedule, and change the program s language (if multiple languages are installed). In User Options, you can change your own user s settings, such as the logon password and address, some workspace preferences, the automated screenshot configuration, or alerting color settings. Tools menu Currently it only has 1 option, the Probe Manager: it allows you to upgrade and configure all AKCP devices in one place (that are associated with the AKCess Pro Server). We ll show you the usage of Probe Manager in another section. Help menu Allows access to the aforementioned help window, changing of the help language (if multiple languages are installed), and lets you restart the first-run tour again. You can view the program s version and build number in the About option. Updated until Version
