3 ALMS Desktop Application 2 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1) Overview MetaOption LLC has developed the Attendance & Leave Management System (ALMS) for employees to mark their attendance by checking in and checking out on any workstation. It eliminates the need for making manual entry on paper and makes the attendance and leave maintenance process convenient. All the check in/ check out information is saved in web server, which can be accessed, using the ALMS web application. To know more about web application please refer the ALMS web manual. 2. PRODUCT FEATURES The central features of the ALMS application are: a) Auto or manual check-in and check-out b) View attendance log c) Export attendance log d) UTC time format based Date e) User Friendly Interface 3. BASIC REQUIREMENTS To develop and implement the ALMS system some software and hardware requirements must be met. The software is used for building the system and hardware is used for executing it successfully. ALMS is a windows application project and has used.net for development because it contains in-built class libraries. ALMS has used C#.net at front-end and SQL Server at back-end. The software and hardware requirements for ALMS are given below: 3.1) Software and hardware requirements OS : Windows XP, windows 7 or higher Tools :.Net Framework 4.0 RAM : 512MB or more Page 2 of 18

4 ALMS Desktop Application 3 4. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE Go to ALMS setup folder. ALMS_Setup -> setup.exe. Double click on setup.exe file. The ALMS Setup wizard screen will be shown. Click on the Next button Choose the program shortcut location and click on Next> tab. Select the installation folder and click on Next button. Page 3 of 18

7 ALMS Desktop Application 6 5. ALMS PROCESSES 5.1) Check In To check in right click on ALMS icon present on the system tray and then click on Check In tab. Check In Option ALMS app Icon On clicking on Check-In tab following window will pop up: Click here to check in Page 6 of 18

8 ALMS Desktop Application 7 Enter the following details for checking in: 1: Date and Time 2: Work Location 2: Reason for checking in. 5.2) Log in Login tab Click here to login Page 7 of 18

9 ALMS Desktop Application 8 Enter the following details in the pop up window: 1: Org Code 2: User Name 3: Password Note: Contact your system administrator if you have login problems. 5.3) Check out To check out right click on ALMS icon present on system tray and click on Check-Out tab. 11 ALMS Desktop Application 10 When you click on Attendance History following window will pop up: Attendance history details Attendance history would be displayed in order of most recent attendance first. Attendance History will display the following details: 1: Check-in date: The date on which check-in was done. 2: Check-in time: The time at which check-in was done. 3: Check-out date: The date on which check-out was done. 4: Check-out time: The time at which check-out was done. 5: Time Span: Duration of time spent at work. 6: Day: The day on which check-in was made. 7: Location: The location from which check-in has been done. 12 ALMS Desktop Application ) Screen Capture Screen capture feature shows the status of screen capture on your system. If ON is displayed in front of it, it means this feature is enabled on your system and if OFF is displayed in front of it, it means this feature is disabled on your machine. This feature can be enabled or disabled only by the administrator or super administrator. Screen capture status Page 11 of 18

13 ALMS Desktop Application ) Quit If you want to exit the application, right click on ALMS window and click the Quit tab. Quit tab On clicking the Quit tab following window will pop up: Enter check out reason and click on OK to Quit. Page 12 of 18
