The USB driver has been signed for authentication. It was not put through the WHQL compliance program. d. Improved USB link robustness: i. Reset USB pipes on pipe errors ii. Retransmit Signaling messages in case of USB communication error iii. Restart USB connection on critical USB communication errors e. The call direction reported to Sense can be reversed by a setting in the Sense Box. This is good for when the PABX provides the master clock instead of the network. 4. Archiving 2

3 a. Workaround SQL Server Express 4 GB size limit by moving 80% of the database to a new database when the active database is reaching 3.8 GB (limit is 4 GB). Archiving and editing the comment field will not be available on the moved data. Database transactions might take a long time if many such databases are created. Activation of this feature is configurable. b. Database restore is available from a GUI menu. This operation actually results in a merger between the existing database and the restored one. c. Rolling database archive feature which archives in place of old archives and deletes the old archives. d. Put all scheduled archives of a particular date in one folder named after that day's date e. Backup the database to the local drive. Requires up to 20 GB of disk space with SQL Server Express. This database backup overwrites older backups and is intended as a fall back database backup in case there were no scheduled database archives. This mechanism is unrelated to regular scheduled archives. This is configurable using DBNumOffBackupsToKeep registry key. f. Removed the partial DB backups. g. The duration of keeping restored calls before re-deleting them can be set. 5. Sense Calls GUI a. Filters i. By partial called and calling numbers ii. By partial text from call notes b. Added a channel name column for Analog lines. This column can be preprogrammed to display a name or a number related to a certain channel number. c. Added support for the VLC media player. This player can be used for finished calls and for ongoing calls (using RTP). Using this player instead of the old player is configurable in the registry. VoIP recording of RTP only calls (calls without signaling data) must be disabled when using the VLC player. d. Added the Sense Box ID and Channel number columns to the Calls screen e. Removed redundant features: i. Tools->Options->Password tab. ii. CD/DVD burning tool. 6. Removed the 3 seconds call duration limitation from recording. Calls of any duration are now recorded. 7. OS a. Added full support for Vista 32 bit b. Added full support for Windows 7 32 bit c. The default data folders are in C:\ProgramData on new installations to Vista and W7 3

The destination audio path has been separated from the Sense Data path, so the final destination of audio storage can be on remote or temporary storage such as NAS, SAN, external USB etc. Pointing the folder to a network drive requires configuration of the user credentials and domain name. a. Added a GUI dialog to change this folder at any time. 9. Archiving to network drives on workgroup and domain networks by configuring domain name and user credentials of an existing user account on a remote machine. 10. When deleting, exporting, backing up, restoring, playing back, and on any error or problem, a descriptive comment is added to the call's comment field. 11. Added a DEMO mode that can run Sense without boxes or VoIP. 12. Expose the Sense version number in the API (See Developer s Guide). 13. Database a. Added support for a configurable database password to support strong passwords on Server 2003, Vista, W7 and domains. b. Changed the default database password in new installations. The installation password can still be overridden via the callrecorder.ini file. c. Configurable Database password. d. Set the default mode of database updates from VPS to Asynchronous. This dramatically improves database access reliability and robustness. A side effect of this is that IVRLLA events are no longer synchronized with database updates. VPS can be configured to work in the old synchronous mode. 14. Installer a. Select between Server only or Server & Client installations. b. Add a confirmation screen before uninstalling Sense. c. Collect the admin during installation for notifications. d. Prompt the user for the server machine name/address during stand alone Client installation 15. Alarms a. Removed the speaker beep which is not supported in Vista and W7. b. Existing alarms: i. Recorder device critical error. Restarting! ii. The telephone line is down. iii. Call Recorder connection error. USB bandwidth too low. iv. Call Recorder disk space too low. v. Call Recorder disk space too low, calls will be deleted. vi. Call Recorder backup disk is full. vii. Call Recorder failed to connect to database! viii. Call Recorder device number X is down! ix. The Call Recorder server is un reachable. x. ccess to destination drive denied. 5 xi. The Call Recording process (VPS) encountered a critical error and restarted! 16. Configurable features a. Start recording only after connection established b. Restrict the amount of RAM SQL Server can use. 17. Compatibility issue a. New Sense (VPS) versions will continue to support all previous firmware versions. Old Sense (VPS) versions prior to will not support firmware version and above. 18. Bug Fixes a. Bug: The Recorder Alarms service was not running properly. Fixed. b. Bug: If Sense (VPS) was stopped in the middle of calls, these calls would show as ongoing when Sense restarted. Resolution: On startup VPS updates these calls to have an error code. c. Bug: Huge audio files filled up the disk if USB connection to the box was interrupted during calls. Fixed. d. Bug: EFS folder on domain installations would expire and Sense would stop recording. Resolution: Remove the EFS property from the tmp folder when installing on domains. e. Bug: The uninstall link in start menu causes a reinstall instead of uninstall. Resolution: Removed the link. Sense can be uninstalled from the Add Remove Programs dialog. f. Bug: The schedules archives made during installation would schedule to run at the installation time. Resolution: Schedule these archive operations to run at midnight. g. Bug: The default client Installation path was not taken correctly from the CallRecorder.ini. Fixed. h. Bug: The start time of scheduled archives drifted from one archive to the next. Fixed. i. Bug: The SQL master database was not archived during database archives. Fixed. j. Bug: On small machines with a large database, archives and call compression operations would sometimes time out causing Sense failure. Resolution: The default database timeout has been increased and is now configurable through a registry key. k. Bug: Connecting more then 2 or 3 Sense Box to a PC would cause errors. Fixed. l. Bug: Called and calling numbers longer than 18 digits would not be displayed in the GUI or API. Resolution: The 18 least significant digits will be displayed. This fix requires a firmware upgrade to firmware In Sense all digits will be displayed. 5

6 m. Bug: Sense Calls installation failed if the Calls window was open. Resolution: Prompt the user to close the window and then continue installation. n. Bug: Update firmware dialog did not work properly. Resolution: Firmware can now be updated from the GUI. o. Bug: Login screen is displayed repeatedly in infinite loop when SQL Server is unreachable during login. Fixed. 19.
