1 Page 1 of 9 Operation Manual for Shekel PC Scale Software Shekel Scales PC Scale software is designed to gather data and display data as units of weight on the PC Scale monitor. Location of software : C :\Program Files\ShekelPC Hardware communication from the scale to the PC is by comm. Cable and RS232 port. Shortcut for the software is the icon (Fig. 1) ShekelPC.lnk Fig.1 Main Window When the main window opens the message C ommunication will appear And if there is no communication then the message No Communication will appear (Fig. 2) Fig.2 Enter the File menu and select Properties (Fig. 3) Fig.3

2 Page 2 of 9 Communication When Properties is selected from the File menu a new window will open (Fig. 4) Fig.4 Click the Communication tab (Fig.4) and select the communication parameters according to requirement. Shekel default is as follows: Com 1 Baud 9600 Parity None Data Bit 8 Stop Bit 1 Next select the type of Protocol required. In order to read the weight transmitted from the scale click the box next to Get weight from scale (Fig.4) Click on the button Save / Close to save the selection (Fig.4)

3 Page 3 of 9 Fig.5 Main Window When the weight appears in the main window it means that communications are working correctly (Fig. 5) To stop transmission of data to the file or to the Data Base click the Stop Communication button. Clicking the drawing pin button displayed on the bottom left hand side will enable the weight display window to be displayed on top of all other windows.

4 Hot Key Page 4 of 9 To activate the Hot Key click on Hot Key Enable tab (Fig. 6) Activation of the Hot Key enables definition of any key on the keyboard as a Hot Key. Pressing on the Hot Key enables weight display t appear in any application or on the monitor. When enabling the Hot Key it is important to select either Key or Timer. Additional parameters can also be selected, such as: Separate Char Date / Time Start of String and End of String If the Timer is selected then the exact time interval of when weight will be displayed can be chosen. Click on the button Save / Close to save the selection (Fig.6) Fig.6

5 Page 5 of 9 Write to File To activate writing data to file click on Write to file tab (Fig. 7) This key is activated when it is necessary to save the weight data to the file. It is possible to store the file anywhere in the computer. Additional parameters can also be selected: Space ;tab; comma; dash which will separate the Date and Time (selected) and weight. If Timer is selected instead of key, the data is transmitted and written to file according time parameters selected. Click on the button Save / Close to save the selection (Fig.7) Fig.7

6 Write to Data Base Page 6 of 9 Fig.8 To activate writing data to DataBase click on Write to DataBase tab (Fig. 8) This option is activated when it is required to write data to the Data Base. Data can be stored under a selected code and/or Product name. To add a code name click on the Add/Change button. A window which will enable definition of codes will open. (Fig. 9) Add a code num ber and the name of the product on separate lines. The information will be automatically saved when existing the window by clicking the x in the upper right hand corner. If Timer is selected instead of key, the data is transmitted and written to file according to time parameters selected. Click on the button Save / Close to save the selection (Fig.8) Fig.9

7 Page 7 of 9 String Format To activate String Format click on String Format tab (Fig. 10) This option enables selection of the weight format and how it is sent to the computer. It is necessary to define how many digits appear on each side of the decimal point. It is also possible to define whether the intial digit will be preceded by a zero; a space or none. Click on the button Save / Close to save the selection (Fig.10) Fig.10

8 Page 8 of 9 Print out of report from Data Base. Select File/DataBase/Report from the menu on the main window. Fig.11 Select the required parameters and press Print. If there is no data the following window will appear. If there is data the window for Print Preview will appear if the Yes button is selected a print preview will appear on the screen. Select the required parameters and select Excel and the report wll be printed as an Excel file.

9 Page 9 of 9 Deleting Data from the Data Base Select File/Database/delete When this window appears select the required parameters and press Search In the Delete window the requested parameters will appear. To delete the parameters press either Delete Group or Delete Row. A window will appear asking if the user is sure he wishes to delete, and either yes or no should be selected.
