5 Instructions for use Setting up your KitSound Link System requirements Android 4.1, or ios 7.0 Router Wi-Fi n, with WPA2-PSK encryption (AES) ADSL or optical internet connection For multi-room or High Resolution playing, 5 GHz multimedia router (speed > 600 MBps) is highly recommended Download the AllPlay Jukebox app from Google Store (Android) or Apple Store (ios) Connecting your Link with your browser 1. If your router does not have a WPS button, open the Wi-Fi settings on your device and look for the Wi-Fi network KSlink xxxxxx-aj (xxxxxx will change depending on your device serial number) 2. Select and connect to this network 3. When you open the browser, you will be automatically redirected to a login page. If not automatically directed there, simply go to: Connecting your Link to your wireless router 1. Install your unit in a cool dry place, where it can wirelessly connect to your router 2. Connect the supplied power cable to the DC IN (3), and to a 5 V / 1 A USB output mains adaptor. The LED indicator (2) will be red 3. Press the power ON/OFF button (1). The LED indicator (2) will fl ash yellow, and you should wait for one minute for the Link to fully wake up 4. When the LED indicator (2) starts fl ashing white, the Link is ready to connect to a network 5. Press the WPS button on your router, and the WLAN button (6) on the Link at the same time. The LED indicator (2) will fl ash white quickly 6. When the Link has connected to your wireless router, the LED indicator (2) will be solid white 4. Create a zone name for your room, eg. lounge, bedroom, kitchen 5. Select your network name, and then enter your network password 6. Click on Connect, and your Link will search for the network and then connect 8 9

6 Using the KS Link 3. Select Music on this device, and the songs from your device will be displayed Before you begin, ensure that all your devices and speakers are connected to your Wi-Fi network. Playing music from your smartphone or tablet 1. Open the AllPlay Jukebox app, and wait for the Link to be displayed 2. Select the audio device on which you want to play 4. Add the songs you want to the playlist 5. Press the circle button to add more songs [continued...] 10 11

7 [...continued] Using the KS Link 6. After selection, you can choose to play immediately (Now), after the song currently playing (Next), or at the end of the list (Last). Pressing Clear deletes the playlist In the AllPlay Jukebox app, you have six navigation options: << Last song Multi-room operation Multi-room needs two or more devices, up to 10, which must all be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. To play High Resolution audio, your router will require a 5 GHz band. We recommend only using two devices when using High Resolution audio. >> Next song /> Play/pause Display volume ON/OFF Upper bar Lower bar Time display and selection Volume settings Note: If you have several devices connected to your home network through AllPlay Jukebox, you can build a common playlist. Note: If you have several speakers connected to your home network, you can play different songs in different rooms

8 1. Press the device banner at the top of the AllPlay Jukebox screen AllPlay Jukebox settings 2. Press the Group button. Select the audio devices you want to group, and then press Done Here you can alter The name of your Link by pressing Device name at the top of the screen, and inputting a new one Restart the app or a device Check the signal from the Link Check the IP address assigned to the Link by your router Assign a password to a device See if there are any updates available for your Link 3. Select the group to operate as a single speaker 4. When you press the volume button a new screen will appear so you can alter the volume for each speaker separately. You can close this screen by pressing the volume button again 14 15

9 Direct mode 1. Press and release the DIR MODE/RESET (7) button on the rear of the Link 2. The LED indicator (2) will fl ash white rapidly and then stay white. This will take at least 30 seconds 3. Search for Wi-Fi device and select KSlink or the zone name you have given to the Link 4. Open the AllPlay Jukebox app and play directly 5. To return to network connected mode press and release the DIR MODE/RESET (7) button Note: A long press of the DIR MODE/RESET (7) button (more than 5 seconds) will activate factory reset, clearing the network name, password, and name. DLNA router operation 1. Connect your DLNA device to your router. The Link will accept DNLA audio devices such as DLNA controllers, servers, or renderers 2. Open your DLNA controller application and wait to see the several DLNA devices connected to the network displayed. 3. You can now play a song from a DLNA server on the selected renderer Spotify connect A better way to listen at home Spotify Connect lets you play Spotify through your home speakers or TV, using the Spotify app as a remote. You ll need a Spotify Premium account to use Spotify Connect. If you don t have it, just go to for your free 30-day trial. 1. Connect your device to the same Wi-Fi network as your device running the Spotify app 2. Open the Spotify app, and play a song 3. Tap the song image n the bottom left of the screen 4. Tap the Connect icon 5. 10 Care for your Link Please DON T Get the Link wet Drop the Link as this will invalidate your warranty Open up the Link. 11 Troubleshooting I cannot connect my device to my router Make sure that you wait at least a minute after turning on the Link before trying to connect your audio device to a router Reset your device, and wait for one minute If the audio device has already been connected to a different network, you will need to rest the device Try to connect your device using a browser on a computer (see Connecting your Link with your browser) I cannot see my device in the AllPlay Jukebox app Make sure your device is connected to the same network After opening the app, wait for one minute and then search for the device If this does not work, reset the Link and turn your device off and on Some songs cannot be played The Link does not support the WMA format, so you will need to convert these tracks to MP3 Some songs purchased from online stores have restricted rights and so cannot be played I cannot see my PC network Windows 7 and above: check that you have allowed your PC to share content on your network I cannot play songs from the network Check that you do not have an active fi rewall which can block streaming Please visit: for latest details on supported radio and streaming services. 12 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS As with all radio systems, the performance greatly depends on your environment; the distance to the router, the layout of your home, and the materials your home is constructed from can all influence the performance of your system. It is recommended that you place your router near the centre of your home, and not at one end. It may be necessary to add a PLC system to conduct the internet signal to the router. This product is suited for this purpose within all EU countries. The traffi c on your home network is also very important. For example, if you watch videos online, your router bandwidth may not be large enough to carry your music to your speakers. Please do not attempt to open this product. There are no user serviceable parts inside, in particular if your product has an embedded, non-replaceable battery, do not attempt to access or remove the battery as this may cause personal injury and will damage the product.
