1 Rohmann Update Issue 2, June 2003 Elotest M2 The Elotest M2 can be delivered with a nylon protective holster, for use in dirty environments. Pouches are also provided for storage of probes and accessories. A folding non-slip stand/handle is another option available for retaining the M2 in a stable position on awkward surfaces. Additionally, a standard threaded insert is fitted on the rear of the instrument housing for attachment of a tripod or similar device. The picture on the right shows an Elotest M2 coupled into a Docking Station. The docking station provides a desktop station to charge the instrument Li-on battery pack, connect to a PC via an RS232 interface. The Docking Station can also charge a spare battery at the same time as charging the battery in the instrument. 2 Elotest IS In - Line Inspection For an economic solution to in-line inspection problems, the Elotest IS is a an excellent choice. It combines the eddy current performance of the well known Elotest B1 together with features applicable to an in-line system. The Elotest IS has a large and clear 240 x 128 pixel LCD display with a 9 -key membrane key front Panel. It is available with either 1 or 2 channels in the box configuration. If more channels are required, then a 19 rack version (MC) is available for up to 12 channels. The photograph above shows an encircling test coil connected to the Elotest IS, for inspection of bars or tubes. 3 Elotest B300 C-Scan Option The interpretation of eddy current Signals can be enhanced with the aid of the new C-Scan option now available on the Elotest B300 instrument range. For rotary hole inspection normal Rohmann hand rotors can be used or encoders can be fitted to the rotor for improved accuracy. A scanning frame can be used for hand held probes. No external software is required and the results are displayed on the 640 x 480 pixel colour TFT display. B300 C-Scan Display examples. 4 Elotest B300 Conductivity and Layer Thickness Measurement For further versatility the Elotest B300 can be supplied or upgraded with the Conductivity and Layer thickness option. It has an accuracy to +/- 1% of the measured value, +/- 1% IACS (or equivalant Ms/M). Simultaneously, a non conductive layer thickness value can also be displayed within the range of 1mm mm, on conducting substrates (not ferromagnetic).
