You can push, turn and press the controller. Display Controller Press : Switching audio/ video playback off /on Press and hold: Switching the display off Turn : Setting the volume Disc slot Ejecting a disc Loading a disc Display The display is located in the vehicle dashboard. It does not have any controls. Central control panel The central control panel is located in the front in the vehicle center console. It comprises the controller and the main function buttons. Main function buttons Controller Controller Push : Switching between the different menu areas. Push : Scrolling through a list page by page, or moving to a menu item. Push : Moving the map. Turn to the left or right : Highlighting a menu item and scrolling through a list item by item. Controller Press: Confirming a highlighted menu item. In the following descriptions, highlighting and confirming a menu item is combined into one prompt for action and referred to as selecting. 4

Action of the controller The icons,, and represent the directions of movement of the controller. The icon represents turning the controller. Each individual icon can be shown in white or gray. White icon: Pushing or turning as appropriate initiates an operation. You can now select further menu items. Push once, or briefly press. Audio settings In a main menu, select Settings. In the Audio Settings menu, select Balance/Fader. In the Audio Settings menu, select Treble/Mid/Bass. The Audio Settings menu appears, see the following illustration. Status display Menu item Surround Depending on the previous status, the function will be switched on or off. = function switched on = function switched off Saving the settings The system saves a setting automatically.the respective menus are automatically closed after a short time. HD Radio (TM) information HD Radio TM Technology Manufactured Under License From ibiquity Digital Corporation. U.S. and Foreign Patents. HD Radio TM and the HD Radio logo are proprietary trademarks of ibiquity Digital Corporation. The Driver Information System is able to receive standard analog FM/AM radio broadcasting as well as digital HD Radio TM FM/AM broadcasting. HD Radio TM is a technology to carry digital broadcasting as well as analog ones using existing FM and AM broadcasting frequencies. HD Radio TM reception is available in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. Switching to FM/AM mode and switching bands. Press. Tuning to a station via a search In the FM or AM Main menu, select Tune & Seek. Option 1: Briefly push. The seek proceeds upwards or downwards and stops at the next receivable station. Option 2:: Push or push and hold. The frequency increases or decreases. After releasing, the seek stops at the next receivable station. Tuning to a station via manual tuning In the FM or AM Main menu, select Tune & Seek. Turn. The frequency increases or decreases, depending on the direction of rotation. Tuning to a station via the Scan function To start the Scan function: In the FM or AM main menu, select Scan. The Scan function starts, a corresponding message is displayed. The Scan function will stop automatically, if the frequency from where it has been started is reached again. To stop the Scan function manually: Press. Storing stations Tune to a desired station. In the FM or AM main menu, select Presets. The presets appear. To select a preset: Turn until the desired preset number (here 6) is highlighted. XM Satellite Radio information Switching to XM Satellite Radio mode Press. Tuning to channels Tuning to a channel via the Tune & Seek menu In the XM Satellite Radio main menu, select Tune & Seek. The Tune & Seek menu appears. Tuning to a channel via the channel presets In the XM Satellite Radio main menu, select Presets. The presets appear. XM and the XM logos are registered trademarks of XM Satellite Radio Inc. XM Satellite Radio offers the reception of a wide range of programs, e.g. music, sports, news - all in digital quality. XM Satellite Radio is available in the United States (except Alaska and Hawaii) and Canada. To stop the Scan function manually: Press. Tuning to a channel via the channel list The channel list contains only channels you have subscribed. In the XM Satellite Radio main menu, select Channel List. The channel list appears. To tune to a channel: Select the desired channel. Tuning to a channel via the category list In the XM Satellite Radio main menu, select Category List. The category list appears. Going back to the category list : Currently tuned channel Channel number Channel name Select the desired channel. To go back to the category list: Press or select the menu item. Tune & Seek menu To tune to a channel: Turn. Option 1 to request the channel preset list: After tuning to the desired channel, push. Option 2 to request the channel preset list: After tuning to the desired channel, press and hold until the channel preset list appears. To store the channel: Select the desired preset. Storing a channel via the channel presets In the XM Satellite Radio main menu, select Presets. The presets appear. Currently tuned channel Preset number 3 To select a preset (e.g. preset number 3): Highlight the preset number 3. Option 1 to store the currently tuned channel in the preset number 3: Press and hold until the channel is stored. Option 2 to store the currently tuned channel in the preset number 3: Push. Storing a channel via the channel list In the XM Satellite Radio main menu, select Channel List. The channel list appears. : Currently tuned channel Channel number Channel name Channel list To store the currently tuned channel: Highlight the currently tuned channel and push. Disc slot Ejecting a disc Loading a disc Loading one disc Briefly press. The system will prompt you to insert a disc with the message Please insert Disc. Insert a disc into the slot. The system will load the disc and then play it. Loading more than one disc Press and hold. Insert the next disc only when prompted with the message Please insert Disc. Ejecting one disc Briefly press. The system will eject the last disc played if available. Remove the disc from the slot. Ejecting more than one disc Press and hold. Remove the discs from the slot one after another. Opening the DISC main menu At least one disc must be loaded. Press. If the system switches to AUX mode: Press again. Pausing/resuming playback In the track list, select the track currently playing. The system will pause or resume playback, depending on the previous status. = pause = play Selecting tracks/folders Selecting folders is only available for MP3 or wma discs. Folders can only be selected if the audio files were organized into folders when the disc was created. 13

To return to the video fullscreen display: Press. Options menu To switch the function on/ off: Select Scan. = function switched on = function switched off Video DVD/CD playback The video playback function is only available with the gear in P (Park). Switching to DISC mode and starting video DVD/CD playback At least one video DVD/CD must be loaded. Press. If the system switches to AUX mode: Press again. To set the brightness, color or contrast: Select Brightness, Color or Contrast and turn until the desired setting is reached. The system saves the settings automatically. Native video DVD menu The native video DVD menu includes the following functions: Returning to video DVD fullscreen display DVD top menu/dvd menu which is part of the DVD itself. Chapter list Selecting titles Switching subtitles on/off Switching audio track Switching viewing angle Depending on the content of the DVD currently playing, certain menu items may have no function even though they are displayed. Opening the native video DVD menu During video DVD playback, press. The native video DVD menu appears. Connecting an AUX device AUX main menu Press. If the system switches to DISC mode: Press again. Starting playback Connect an ipod mobile digital device or open the AUX main menu. Playback of the currently active track in the ipod mobile digital device will be continued. Opening the ipod menu During ipod playback push oruntil the content area is active (blue frame around it). With the content area active, press repeatedly until the ipod menu appears. ipod menu Navigating within the ipod menu Forwards: Select a menu item in the ipod menu. Backwards: Press. To play a track: Select the desired track. USB playback Starting playback Option 1: Connect an USB memory stick containing audio files. Option 2: Open the AUX main menu and, if necessary, select the USB stick as the signal source. Selecting tracks/folders Moving to the upper folder Folder : Track currently playing Track Highlighted track Track/folder list To switch to the next folder level up: Select. To open a folder: Select the desired folder. You will see the tracks stored in this folder. To play a track: Select the desired track. ipod and USB playback functions Pausing/resuming playback Highlight the track currently playing and press. The play icon or the pause icon shows the corresponding status. Skipping tracks forward/back Press or on the steering wheel. Fast forwarding/reversing Highlight any track and push once. To switch a function on/off: In the Options menu, select Random Track or Random Folder. = function switched on = function switched off Repeating a track and random setting (only ipod ) Random setting The random setting switches the shuffle song function of the ipod mobile digital device on or off. Highlight any track. To open the Options menu: Push. To switch the function on/ off: In the Options menu, select Random. = function switched on = function switched off Scan function (only USB) Highlight the track from which you want the function to start. To open the Options menu: Push. AUX source playback Connect an AUX (audio/video) signal source. If necessary, select the desired signal source in the AUX main menu. The AUX full-screen display appears. Start playback on the AUX signal source. To open the AUX main menu during AUX source playback: Press. To return to the AUX fullscreen display: Press. To open the Options menu: Push. To switch a function on/off: In the Options menu, select Repeat Track or Repeat Folder. = function switched on = function switched off Repeating a track Highlight the desired track. Mai :43 15 PHONE Pairing a mobile phone To use a mobile phone with the system, it must be equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology and with the following Bluetooth 2.0 profiles: Hands-free profile (HFP) Phone book access profile (PBAP) The Bluetooth feature on the mobile phone must be activated before attempting to pair or connect a mobile phone. To open the PHONE main menu: Press. If the system switches to INFO mode: Press again. In the PHONE main menu, select Connect Phone. The device list appears. Device list Select Register New Phone. The Bluetooth name of the Driver Information System is GENESIS, it is displayed under this name on the mobile phone. Bluetooth name of the Driver Information System Passkey Remaining time for entry of the passkey Start pairing on the mobile phone. When prompted, enter the passkey. Connecting a mobile phone After the system is switched on, it automatically attempts to reconnect with the last mobile phone connected. The following conditions must be met for this: The mobile phone is switched on and is within the system reception range. The mobile phone is still paired with the system. Bluetooth is activated on the mobile phone. In the Settings menu, BT Autoconnection is activated =. Settings menu Device list and pairing/ connection status To open the PHONE main menu: Press. If the system switches to INFO mode: Press again. Select Dial Number. The input menu appears. Input field with digits already entered Speller Enlarged display of the currently highlighted character in the speller Initiate a call Store number in the phonebook Delete the last digit in the input field Delete all digits in the input field Currently highlighted digit The input menu has two usercontrol areas: The area with the speller and the area with, and. To move from one area to another: Push. To enter a number: In the speller, highlight a digit by turning and press. The digit is entered and appears in input field. To initiate a call: From the speller, push and select CALL. To cancel a call: Press. Using the call history list In the PHONE main menu, select Call History. The call history list appears. To initiate a call: Select the desired entry. The mobile phone initiates the call. If the other party answers, the call is active and you conduct it over the hands-free unit. Accepting/rejecting an incoming call The call menu is displayed when there is an incoming call. Select Accept or Reject. When you accept the call you conduct it over the hands-free unit. Ending a call In the call menu, select END. XM NavTraffic information Licensing information XM, XM NavTraffic and the XM logos are registered trademarks of XM Satellite Radio Inc. Various examples are desrcibed in the following. Entering a destination via the address and house number In the Navigation main menu, select Destination. A selection list appears. In the selection list, select Address. The address input menu appears. Input progress display (in the example currently entered state/province) Hit list (empty if no address has been entered) Input field Predictive speller Confirm entry Delete all characters in the input field Delete the last character in the input field Menu item for entering the state/province Enlarged display of the currently highlighted character in the predictive speller Enter the address information (i.e. state, street name, house number, city). To enter a character: In the predictive speller, highlight a character and press. The character is entered and appears in the input field. To delete characters in the input field: Select (delete last character) or (delete all characters). To confirm an entry: If OK is highlighted, press. If prompted, select an entry in the hitlist. 22

After entering the destination Route calculation After the destination has been confirmed, route calculation starts. After the route has been calculated, you will see the map, route information and the Options menu on the right. Moving the map/setting the map scale To activate scroll mode: Push, or. If the map was previously in position mode, it will switch to scroll mode and the target crosshairs will be displayed. To set the map scale: Turn until the desired scale is reached. To set the map to the vehicle position: Press. The crosshairs disappear. The map is automatically set to the current vehicle position and is in position mode. Information on the current vehicle position Press. You will see an information display at the top, if the digital map contains corresponding data. General information Commands must be pronounced clearly in a quiet environment for voice commands. For saying a command, press on the steering wheel and await the signal tone. Help function (teleprompter) The help function provides an audible and visual help component, also referred to as a teleprompter. The help function can be activated at any time using the command Help, or it is automatically activated as soon as receives an incorrect voice input or command. Example FM/AM mode Switching to FM/AM mode Press on the steering wheel and say Radio after the signal tone. The FM or AM main menu appears on the display. The last selected station is played. Tuner mode help Press on the steering wheel and say Radio commands after the signal tone. The teleprompter is opened. You will hear all commands available for FM, AM or XM tuner mode. Example PHONE mode Switching to PHONE mode Phone commands can be used only while a Bluetooth mobile phone is connected to the system. Press on the steering wheel and say Bluetooth after the signal tone. The PHONE main menu appears on the display. Dialing a number Press on the steering wheel and say Dial number after the signal tone. Use the numbers 0 to 9 to enter the number. 26

Shift the gear lever to the position R (Reverse). The monitor will switch to rear camera view. The display in the vehicle may be different from the picture below. Red line Yellow line Green line The three lines, and are showing the following distances, each measured from the rear bumper: Red line = 1.64 ft (50 cm) Yellow line = 3.28 ft (100 cm) Green line = 9.84 ft (300 cm) Switching the rear camera view off The rear camera view will automatically switch off if the gear lever is shifted to the position D and the vehicle exceeds a certain speed. While the rear camera view is displayed, shift the gear lever to any position except R. The monitor will return to the normal view. 31
