3 Quick Reference Guide MAIN DISPLAY SCREEN 1. On-screen Controls Use the mouse to access unit functions (see On-screen Controls and Indicators). 2. Image Area Live images are displayed here in the selected screen format. 3. Archive Indicates how much tape recording space has been used and how much is available. (This field only appears during background archiving). 4. Image Database Indicates the amount of used and available recording space. 5. Record This indicator is lit when the unit is recording images. On the front panel, this indicator is labeled REC. 6. Play This indicator is lit when the unit is playing back images. Changes to Pause when playback is paused.

4 Intellex Digital Video Management System On-screen Controls and Indicators (Cameras) Click to display a specific camera in the 1x1 format. The indicator for the displayed camera is lit. 8. Alarms Indicator This indicator is lit when alarm events have occurred, but have not been reviewed. 9. Play/Pause Controls playback speed and direction. 10. Alarms Click to display the alarm review 11. 1x1 Click to select the single window display format. Only one camera can be displayed at a time x2 Click to select the four-window display format. Up to four cameras can be displayed at the same time x3 Click to select the nine-window display format. Up to nine cameras can be displayed at the same time. 15. Status Click to display the unit s status 16. Seq (Sequence) Click to display cameras sequentially. 17. Full Scrn Click to hide the controls and display the current images full-screen in the selected screen format. Right-click the image and select Switch to Menu to display the controls. 18. Search Click to search the image database for specific video images. 19. Utility Click to access the Utility Options 20. Archive Click to access the Archive Options 21. Setup Click to access the Setup Options 22. Help Click to display help information x4 Click to select the 16-window display format. Up to 16 cameras can be displayed at the same time.

5 Quick Reference Guide MAIN SCREEN OPERATION To perform this action: Change the screen format Display system status Display cameras sequentially Log in Log out Shut down the unit* Generate an alarm* Clear latched alarm messages* Back up the image database* Restore archived images* Play archived images* Add, change or delete a user* NOTE: You must have permission from the system administrator to access items marked with an *. Do this: Click a screen format button (1x1, 2x2, 3x3, 4x4). Click Status. Click Seq. Enter your PIN. Click OK. Click Utility. Click Log Out. Click Yes. Click Utility. Click Shutdown. Click Yes. Click Utility. Click Generate Alarms. Select the cameras. Click OK to generate alarms for the selected cameras. Click Utility. Click Clear Latched. Click Yes. Click Archive. Click Back up... Follow the directions. Click Archive. Click Restore... Follow the directions. Click Archive. Click Play... Follow the directions. Click Setup. Click Security. Configure the record schedule* Click Setup. Click Schedule. Configure other unit settings* Review an alarm* Search the image database* Use the filters to search the image database* Play back images* Configure IntelleCord filters* Refer to Chapter 3 System Configuration in the Intellex Installation Instructions. Click Alarms. Select an alarm segment to review. Click Play. Click Search. Select the search conditions. Click Find. Refer to Chapter 3 Playback Operation in the Intellex Operating Instructions. Click a camera button. Click Play/Pause. Refer to Chapter 4 Intellex Setup Options in the Intellex Installation Instructions.

7 Quick Reference Guide 7. Playback Overlay Displays the name of the displayed camera, the image date and time and the alarm input or event (if any). Playback Controls and Indicators (Cameras) Click to play back images for specific cameras. The light indicates which camera is being played back. 9. Alarms Indicator This light indicates that alarm events have occurred, but have not been reviewed. 10. Play/Pause Control Knob Controls the playback speed and direction (see Adjust playback speed and direction on the next page). The unit displays the playback speed (1x to 5x) and direction (forward or reverse). 11. Alarms Click to display the alarm review 12. Play/Pause Click to play back images or to pause image playback. 13. Screen Formats Click to change the live display format. If in playback mode, the unit changes the live display format, but does not exit playback. If an optional live monitor is installed, the new format appears immediately. 14. Status Click to display the unit s status 15. Seq (Sequence) Click to display cameras sequentially. If in playback mode, the unit changes the format of the live display, but does not exit playback. If an optional live monitor is installed, camera sequencing begins immediately. 16. Full Scrn Click to hide the playback controls and indicators and to display the image area full Click the screen to display the playback controls and indicators. 17. Search Click to search the image database for specific images. 18. Close Click to close this screen and return to normal operation. 19. Tools Click to enhance the currently displayed image using the image enhancement tools. You can also print the image or save it to a diskette. 20. Help Click to display help information.

8 Intellex Digital Video Management System PLAYBACK OPERATION Turn the Play/Pause control knob clockwise for forward play- back or counterclockwise for rewind. Turn the knob farther to increase playback speed. The speed ( 5x to 1x or 1x to 5x) appears on the Play/Pause knob. In Pause mode, playback operates at a slower speed than in Play mode. To perform this action: Display the playback screen Review an alarm Search the image database Play back images Pause image playback Adjust playback speed and direction (Play or Pause) Enhance an image Print an image Save an image to a diskette Load an image from a diskette Close the playback screen and display the main screen Do this: From the main screen, click Play/Pause. Click Alarms. Click the alarm segment to review. Click Play. Click Search. Select the search conditions. Click Find. Click a camera button. If playback is paused, click Play/Pause. Click Play/Pause. Pause playback at the desired image. Click Tools. Use the enhancement tools. Pause playback at the desired image. Click Tools. Click Print. Pause playback at the desired image. Click Tools. Click Save. Insert diskette with image to load. Click Tools. Click Load. Click Close.
