Introduction 2 Introduction From single-monitor security stations to massive command centers, Aventura's Client Workstation software provides the tools and flexibility to manage hundreds of video channels quickly and easily in any environment. A single Aventura Workstation can monitor up to 256 live video feeds simultaneously and drive up to 20 screens depending on hardware.

3 Client Workstation Software Overview PTZ CONTROL Intuitive gesture-based controls Graphical PTZ control panel Traditional joystick control fully supported Support for a wide-array of third party cameras DISPLAY GROUPS One-click camera display group creation Instantly jump between camera display groups Access display groups during playback and video backup VIEWING Screen configurations supporting up to 64 cameras feeds Camera salvo/sequencing in any screen configuration Instantly view any camera feed full-screen FLEXIBILITY View Live or Recorded Video from Multiple Locations Browser and Smartphone Support Virtual Matrix Switching Multi-Language Support

Introduction 4 Components Aventura CWS consists of 4 primary components: Live View When the software first starts you will be in the Live View interface. This screen enables you to view live video feeds from multiple sources, as well as control PTZ cameras. Additional features include video sequencing, various split-screen mode options, and user configurable display groups. Virtual Matrixing is also supported for CWS installations with Aventura's optional Decoder card. Live video feeds display icons indicating which cameras are recording at any given time, and the trigger-type for recordings in-progress (schedule, motion, etc). While in CWS Live View it is also possible to monitor the status of sensors and alarms in real-time. Playback Aventura's full-featured playback module delivers an incredibly intuitive ways to browse, search, and review video recordings. The video navigation pane allows users to quickly find the date, time and camera they are looking for. Powerful playback controls deliver the ability to speed up, slow down, and even rewind videos in real-time, while the Play List and Video Timeline allow users to quickly jump between videos. Downloading individual video files or backing up multiple clips by time, date, and camera is incredibly simple with the integrated video backup module and a convenient video download button for each clip in the Play List. Emap Take control with an Emap system that gives users an overhead view of the security network and offers a new level of situational awareness. Find cameras and preview video feeds by physical location instead of memorizing camera names. See sensor and motion alerts in real-time when and where they occur. The Aventura Emap module brings live monitoring into the 21st century, providing users with a straightforward security interface that makes immediate sense. Event Manager Track alerts, alarms, video loss, and other important system events in the Event Manager module. User access to settings screens, inbound and outbound network connections, and more can be sorted and reviewed in a configurable interface. Logs can be exported or selectively forwarded via . The system also allows administrators to log an acknowledgement for any recorded event, along with optional notes and even file attachments.

7 Client Workstation Software Getting Started Interface 1. Click Here to Browse this Manual from Any Workstation 2. Virtual Keyboard Access (type using the mouse) 3. Double-Click on Any Video Window to View FullScreen 4. Click a Tab to Change the Current Action Panel 5. Select Number of Live Video Panels to Display 6. Options Menu (also accessible by right-clicking on any live video panel)

Getting Started 8 Configuration On the System & Network tab of the Settings screen (accessible by selecting Settings from the right-click or options menu) there are a number of options which should be configured the first time the software is used. Recording Information Main Recording Drive: This is the local hard drive the client software will save any manual or scheduled recordings to. It is recommended to use a different physical drive or partition than the system drive (where Windows is located). When Drive is Full: If the local drive has filled with video the user has the option to stop recording until space is manually cleared or the software can automatically delete the oldest files to make room for new recordings. System Configuration Client Name: A unique name the client machine can be identified with on the security network. Server & Web Client Ports: Used for advanced connectivity. Sequencing Interval: Used when sequencing is active. The number of seconds each set of cameras is displayed before switching to the next set.

9 Client Workstation Software Device Configuration Use Matrix Decoder: Check this box if your system has a matrix decoder card you wish to use. Popup Alarm on Matrix: Check this box if a matrix decoder is in use and you want cameras associated with alarms to automatically appear on the connected analog monitors. Keyboard COM Port & Baud Rate: Set according to external device manual when using a PTZ Keyboard or Joystick. CMS Configuration If using one or more Aventura CMS (Central Management System) servers configure IP addresses and port numbers to match those on the CMS server(s). Once the IP and Port numbers have been entered the connection can be verified using the Test CMS button.

Getting Started 10 Connecting to Devices The Devices tab of the Settings screen (accessible by selecting Settings from the right-click or options menu) is where the client can be configured to connect to PC-Based or Embedded DVR or NVR servers as well as IP cameras. For users with a configured CMS (Central Management System) server, devices do not need to be added manually and will automatically populate when connecting to the system. Detect Scans the local area network for supported devices the software can autodetect. This is the simplest way of connecting to a new device. Add Allows a device to be manually added using the IP address, port, device type, and other relevant information. Edit/Remove For updating or removing previously added devices. Settings Clicking this button while a supported IP Camera device is highlighted will load a configuration screen for the device. This allows the user to change settings on the remote device without using a web interface or thirdparty software.

This is useful to quickly find specific cameras in a large surveillance system. Selecting Cameras Cameras can be viewed either by double-clicking on the camera name (this will place the camera video feed in the currently selected video window) or by clicking and dragging from the camera name to the desired video window.
