1 GMS ConnectWise PSA Integration Contents Contents... 1 Overview... 1 Prerequisites... 1 GMS Configuration... 1 ConnectWise Configuration... 4 ConnectWise Customer Configurations... 7 Verification of Reporting Information... 8 Overview ConnectWise PSA customers are now able to take advantage of a tight integration between SonicWALL GMS and PSA when upgrading to SonicWALL GMS This integration exposes SonicWALL GMS reporting data for use in the ConnectWise PSA Executive Summary reports. End users and clients are then able to view a combined report showing various statistics from ConnectWise and SonicWALL GMS systems. Prerequisites ConnectWise PSA 2010 Administrator access to ConnectWise Server Administrator Login access to ConnectWise Client SonicWALL GMS 6.0 with Service Pack 2 Administrator access to SonicWALL GMS GMS Configuration Scheduled reports must be defined on the SonicWALL GMS system for each appliance participating in the integration. The reports required for integration include the following: Bandwidth Summary Web Usage Top Sites Intrusions By Category Web Filter Top Sites Each report must be configured as a daily report with the archive to XML option. Additionally, the reports must be defined at a single unit level; group based reports are not supported.

To configure scheduled reports, follow the steps listed below: 1. Create a User on the SonicWALL GMS system that will be used for integration with ConnectWise.

Login to the SonicWALL GMS system as the User created in the previous step. 3. Select the target appliance from the tree control on the left side of the screen. 4. Click the Reports tab and navigate to the Configuration > Scheduled Reports screen. 2

3 5. Click Add Scheduled Report. 6. Provide a Name for the report, and select the options for Archive and XML. 3

4 7. For each report, expand the main category, and then select the sub-category report. Scroll to bottom of the screen and click the Add button. Note: If the main category checkbox is selected, ALL sub-category reports will also be automatically selected. SonicWALL recommends selecting only ONE sub-category per Report main category. 8. Repeat Steps 5 through 7 to add the remaining reports: Web Usage Top Sites Intrusions By Category Web Filter Top Sites Note: The four reports listed must be defined in separate schedules for the integration to successfully work. You can add additional appliances to the integration as needed by repeating Steps 3 through 8. ConnectWise Configuration Configure the PSA system by using the ConnectWise Internet Client program. Note that the browser version does not currently support the configuration of setup tables. Follow the steps listed below to configure the PSA to communicate with SonicWALL GMS: 1. Login to PSA using an Administrator account. 2. Navigate to the Setup > Setup Tables screen. 4

6 6. Enter the Username and Password for the SonicWALL GMS being used for the integration. 7. Click the Save button (purple diskette icon at the uppermost toolbar). The ConnectWise PSA system is now configured to communicate with the SonicWALL GMS system. To verify that all information was entered correctly, click the Test Authentication button on the Setup screen. If everything is configured correctly, the PSA software will display the XML results returned from the SonicWALL GMS appliance. 6

ConnectWise Customer Configurations After the integration has been defined and tested, configuration entries must be defined for each appliance inside the PSA software.

It is very important to use the same name for the Configuration that was used for the appliance node inside of the SonicWALL GMS. In this example, Bricks Inc. was used for the node name on the SonicWALL GMS, so the same name must be used for the Configuration entry. The remaining steps related to adding a new Configuration are outside the scope of this document. Please refer to ConnectWise documentation for further information. 7

Verification of Reporting Information After completing the steps previously outlined, the ConnectWise end user is able to view reporting information for their SonicWALL
