3 Configuring the Dolby Conference Phone with Avaya Aura Platform 6.* 3 Information about this guide This is a simple, straightforward guide to configuring your Dolby Conference Phone for use with Avaya Aura Platform 6.*. This guide presumes an enterprise network environment. Avaya Aura Platform requirements This document provides instructions for an Avaya Aura Platform 6.3 environment. When instructions differ in Avaya Aura 6.1 and 6.2 environments, they are noted. Note: The Avaya Aura Platform (especially the Avaya G350 media gateway) does not support G.722 audio codec. Therefore, Dolby Conference Phones on the Avaya Aura Platform cannot be configured to only use this audio codec. For more information, see the Dolby Conference Phone Administrator s Guide. Prerequisites You will need the following information in order to configure the phone. Take a look at what is required and have that information available before you start. Read the appropriate Avaya Aura Platform documentation for information on specific network requirements. Note: Your local System Administrator or IT expert can provide these details. IP addresses You will need the following IP addresses: Primary Avaya Aura Platform server Secondary Avaya Aura Platform server Note: Network Address Translation (NAT) is not supported by the Dolby Conference Phone. Therefore, the Avaya Aura Platform servers should be on the same side of the organization firewall as the Dolby Conference Phones.

4 Configuring the Dolby Conference Phone with Avaya Aura Platform 6.* 4 Manual deployment overview A knowledgeable Avaya Aura administrator should perform manual deployment and configuration of the Avaya Aura Platform. The steps listed below are provided as a reference point only. For Avaya documentation, go to 1. Synchronize the Avaya Aura Communications Manager and Session Manager. 2. In the Avaya Aura System Manager, create a new SIP phone extension/account: a. Add an SIP user for each Dolby Conference Phone. b. Assign a communications profile to each user. c. Assign a session manager profile to each user. When completed, you can change the phone configuration file that you created to use the Avaya Aura Platform as the IP PBX server. Configuration parameters The following table maps the Avaya Aura Platform configuration to the Dolby Conference Phone configuration parameters. 5 Configuring the Dolby Conference Phone with Avaya Aura Platform 6.* 5 Creating a SIP phone extension account You must create a SIP phone extension/account for the Dolby Conference Phone. Required details to register the Dolby Conference Phone with Avaya Aura 6.3: Extension Number: Communication Profile Password: SM100 IP address/ FQDN: X.X To create a SIP phone extension: 1. Log in to Avaya Aura System Manager with the appropriate credentials. 2. Click User Management. 3. On the User Management page, click Manage Users > New.

6 Configuring the Dolby Conference Phone with Avaya Aura Platform 6.* 6 4. Click Identity to create an identity for the SIP account. a. Enter Last Name and First Name. b. Enter a Login Name (extension number@domain name). c. Select a Language and Time Zone preference. d. Click Commit & Continue. 5. Click Communications Profile to create a communications profile. Add a Communications Profile Password and confirm it.

7 Configuring the Dolby Conference Phone with Avaya Aura Platform 6.* 7 6. Create a Communication Address. a. Click Communication Address > New. b. Select Type > Avaya SIP. c. Enter the Fully Qualified Address details (extension number@domain name) from the drop- down list d. Click Add. 7. Add a Session Manager profile. a. Select the check box for Session Manager Profile. b. Select Primary Session Manager (SM 100 FQDN). c. If available, select the Secondary Session Manager. d. Select Application Sequences (origination and termination) with the CM details from the drop- down list. e. Select the Call Routing Home Location from the drop- down list.

8 Configuring the Dolby Conference Phone with Avaya Aura Platform 6.* 8 8. Add a Communication Manager profile (called a CM Endpoint Profile below). a. Select the check box for CM Endpoint Profile. b. Select the System and Profile Type from the drop down lists. c. Enter the Extension number. d. Enter the Set Type as 9608SIP or another appropriate number as directed by your local System Administrator. e. Enter the Security Code of your choice. f. Enter the Voice Mail Number and additional numbers, if available. g. Click Commit at the top left- hand side of the screen to save the additional information that you added. 9. Add the SIP Trunk details to the extension. Go to System Manager > Communication Manager > End Points > Manage Endpoints.

9 Configuring the Dolby Conference Phone with Avaya Aura Platform 6.* 9 a. Select the added extension and click Edit. b. Add the appropriate SIP trunk value to communicate with other SIP devices on the system.

10 Configuring the Dolby Conference Phone with Avaya Aura Platform 6.* 10 Registering the Dolby Conference Phone to Avaya Aura 6.3 Note: The following procedure uses the web user interface. 1. Log in the web user interface with the device IP address (for example, 2. Enter the default credentials: Username = admin Password = Select Settings > IP PBX Settings > Account. 4. Change the Account settings as shown: Display Name: Dolby Voice (but you can rename this to anything that makes sense for your organization) Extension Number/Address: Extension number (mandatory) Display Number: Extension number Transport Type: Auto (works with TCP and UDP) Secure Media: Mandatory Transport Port: 5060

11 Configuring the Dolby Conference Phone with Avaya Aura Platform 6.* Next, change the Server settings as shown: Primary Call Server/Outbound Proxy: IP address of Primary SM 100 Primary Server/Outbound Proxy port: 5060 If SM 100 subscriber is available, enter the details in the Secondary Call Server/Outbound Proxy field Note: Ensure you are adding the correct Primary/Secondary account details. 6. Update the credentials (these settings are mandatory for digest authentication): a. Enter the User Credential Name you created. b. Enter the User Credential Password you created. 7. Confirm the password and Save. If the information entered is correct, the phone registers with the Session Manager.

13 Configuring the Dolby Conference Phone with Avaya Aura Platform 6.* 13 Troubleshooting Check the following table for solutions to any issues you have with integrating the Dolby Conference Phone with the Avaya Aura Platform. Troubleshooting Issues with Avaya Aura Platform and Dolby Conference Phone Issue Unable to register the phone with Avaya Aura Session Manager Solution/Workaround Ensure the details of SM 100, extension, and communication profile password are entered accurately to register with Session Manager. On the phone, you can tap > and then Status > Network > Call Server to verify that the configuration process completed. You can also verify the realm configuration on the phone. Make sure it is set to * unless you are sure about the correct value for your system. Dolby Conference Phone is registered, but unable to call other devices on the network Check the SIP routing group configured on the phone from the Avaya Aura System Manager Web UI or use Avaya ASA to check the individual station details and ensure the phones are using the same routing group. Also check the following: 1. That the SIP routing group that phone is assigned to in the Session Manager (through Avaya Aura System Manager) can route the call to the destination routing group. Make sure (possibly though Session Manager logs) that the call is being routed correctly to the destination endpoint. The Session Manager traces indicate the SIP specific error response, which can assist in further troubleshooting. 2. If a Session Manager capture indicates that the Session Manager is able to route the call to the Communication Manager but does not get back any response from it, check the Communication Manager traces. Dolby Conference Phone is registered and makes a call. The terminating phone rings, but the call is disconnected immediately after the call is answered. DCP failed to dial the PSTN number Check the codec configuration on both ends and verify that both endpoints are configured to use at least one compatible codec. Check the codecs configured on the phone. Sometimes limited codecs are selected on phone, which are not compatible with codec selected on Gateway. Select the appropriate gateway codec on the phone to make the PSTN calls. Note: Make sure Avaya and the Gateway are set up to accept 711 and ilbc.
