8 8 JAVA, WEB AND PHP SALARY SURVEY 2017 SURVEY METHODOLOGY THE 2017 REPORT IS A RESULT OF THE ANALYSIS OF 1,483 DATA POINTS, COLLECTED VIA THE FOLLOWING SOURCES: ,483 Pearson Frank Global Placements (over 6 months) Salary Survey Respondents Jobs Registered by Clients from Pearson Frank Total Global Data Source and Validation Techniques The global salary survey information was voluntarily self-reported by a total of 723 Java, Web and PHP professionals, spanning a wide range of job titles, industries, languages (frameworks) and geographic locations from 23 countries. Each survey response has been validated using robust statistical analysis automated data validation rules in order to be included in the final results set. Any data profiles that do not pass our validation rules and statistical analysis, or deemed questionable, incomplete, or duplicate were removed in order to provide meaningful results. Our internal teams have verified each Pearson Frank placement data point to ensure 100% accuracy with respect to base salary, bonuses, benefits, employer type, seniority, job title, technology and location. No data has been artificially aged, nor have any results been extrapolated based on general inflation adjustments, or general wage increase trends. For the purpose of the survey, we will refer to all data points as respondents.

Training opportunities for staff create long term, loyal and productive employees. 2 Technology is always evolving. Employees look for new challenges and exploring developing technology helps to keep staff inspired. 3 Ensure that you understand how valuable your employees are and consider promotional aspects if you feel they are earned. Most employees will be thinking of earning potentials, especially if they have been with the company for a significant period, so make sure they are reminded that they are an integral part of the business.
18 18 JAVA, WEB AND PHP SALARY SURVEY 2017 DIVERSITY SENTIMENTS ON COMPANY DIVERSITY 67% believed that different genders are equally represented within the company they work for. 45% agreed that there is an equal balance of male and female representation at the senior executive level. 58% believed that there is a clear maternity leave policy available in their company. 35% stated that their employer has plans in place to retain matureaged staff. 62% agreed that their employer has a workforce of various cultural backgrounds. 40% said that their company workforce includes people with a disability. 39% stated that their employer has clear policies in place to support people of different gender identity.
19 PEARSON FRANK 19 FEMALE RESPONDENTS OPINIONS ON GENDER SALARY AND WAGE EQUALITY When answering if they feel their salary is equal to that of a male doing the same role: 54% of female respondents answered Yes, and they believe that their employer pays men and women equally. 24% of female respondents answered Yes, but do not think this is the same for all their female colleagues. 22% of female respondents answered No, and believe men are rewarded greater despite being of equal skill and experience. No female respondents believed that women in their company are rewarded greater than men.
