How do I use my iphone or Android phone with the IP camera? Please see the section [5 App Setup]. How do I get my IP camera to send pictures to my ? The IP camera can send pictures to your when alarm is triggered and with fixed intervals. See section [ ] for alarm setup, and [4.4.2 Timed Capture] picture s with fixed intervals. How do I connect my IP camera to my wireless network? Please refer to section [4.2.3 Wifi]. Remember, the network cable must be connected until wifi has been set up properly. Is it necessary to make all settings again if the power supply has been disconnected? No, all settings are savede ven if the camera has been without power. Can I upgrade the IP camera firmware? Yes, you can. But only with firmware that has been approved by HomeSecure. See download section on and our retailers websitesja, det kan du godt. Men kun med firmware der er godkendt af HomeSecure og HomeAlarm. Se download sektionen på HomeAlarms hjemmeside for de nyeste firmware ( I have installed the search tool but I cannot find the IP camera in the overview? Make sure that your IP camera and your computer are connected to the same network. Both devices must be in the same IP address range. If you computer has IP address then your IP camera must also be in the xx range. The easiest way to make sure that both devices are in the same network, is the connect the computer and the IP camera to the same router with cable and set the computer to be allocated IP address automatically through DHCP on the router. 40
41 How do I configure port forwarding on my IP camera? Please refer to the section [4.2.4 P2P]. When I double click my IP camera in the overview in Search Tool, the browser opens on an empty page. What is wring? The IP camera and the computer might not be in the same IP address range. Make sure that your IP camera and your computer are connected to the same network. I.e. both devices mus be in the same IP address range. If your computer has IP address , then your IP camera must also be in the xx range. The easiest way to ensure this is to connect the IP camera and the computer to the same router with a network cable and set the computer to acquire IP address via DHCP from the router automatically. How do I find my computer s IP address? Click start on your windows computer and input the command CMD and then press [Enter] in the DOS prompt, you input ipconfig and then press [Enter]. How can I make my IP camera save images and video on my Synology NAS? Set your Synology NAS to run FTP service. Create a shared FTP folder with user name and password. Input the IP address, folder path, user name and password in the FTP settings on your IP camera. See [4.3.4 FTP] for more information. How do I make my IP camera save to my FTP server? Please refer to [4.3.4 FTP] for more information. Can more than one person receive streams from the camera at one time? Up to three persons can stream video from the camera at the same time. Please see [4.5.1 Video Parameters] for more information. How do I set a static IP address on the IP camera? Deactivate DHCP as described [4.2.1 IP] and input a static IP address that is unique on your network, Subnet Mask, Gateway and DNS I have connected my IP camera to my router and I can see video on my computer when I am logged into my own WiFi. When I try to connect from an external network, I cannot access the camera. What is the problem? Make sure that DDNS services are working on the camera. Also make sure your router is not blocking any ports. How do I save video and images from the IP camera? You can save images and video on the SD card for recording from browser and when alarm is triggered. When you use the App you can save snapshots on the phone, see more in [5 App Setup]. What is DDNS and why is it important? DDNS (Dynamic DNS) is a service that converts internet domain names to IP addresses. Thus, you do not need to know changing IP addresses to connect to the IP camera. You always have a fixed URL that will redirect to your changing IP addresses. 41
42 How much bandwidth does the IP camera need? It depends on the resolution and FPS as well as compression rate. Please refer to below table for a rough guide to minimum bandwidth for different image qualities: Compression Protocol Compression Rate M-JPEG MPEG-2 MPEG Resolution 352 x x x 576 FPS fps fps fps Bandwidth Required 1.5Mbps 4-15Mbps 10K-1Mb HomeSecure makes reservations for typographical and spelling errors. 42
