2 Announcing the Introduction of the New TTR300 Series 3-Phase Transformer Turns Ratio test systems We are pleased to introduce this new Series of 3-Phase Transformer Turns Ratio test systems. The TTR300 series of 3-phase transformer turns ratio tet sets, utilises the field proven technology and methods incorporated in the existing Megger 3- phase TTR (p/n ), However several new exciting and state-of-the-art features in the field of onboard communications and data analysis/control tools are employed throughout this new 4-model range. TTR330 TTR320 TTR310 TTR300 TTR310 This new series of TTRs, consists of four distinctive models, each with its own unique; User Interface and Communications capabilities. Underlying these unique UI s and Comms panels, is a common Turns Ratio measurement circuit. Additionally, each model in the series utilizes the same leadset cables. This approach provides the user with maximum flexibility such that each unit is field upgradeable to any other unit in the series. Such an upgrade can be provided as a field upgrade kit (patent-pending) and can be performed in the field by the user, and all without compromising the units calibration. Page 2of 8

3 A short description of the unique features of each model TTR330. Features patent-pending PowerDB OnBoard, a powerful Windows based software application, embedded within the instrument, and providing the user with the ability to set-up and control the unit through an on-screen test form view. As such, the TTR30 is a forms based instrument. Further, with the optional PC based (full version) PowerDB software, these onscreen test forms are fully customizable by the user. The TTR330 also features two USB ports, one for printing completed test forms directly to a thermal paper USB printer (without the need for an external computer), and the other for storing data to an external USB memory device. Further, with the PowerDB Onboard feature, data analysis and historical trending can be performed in the field and without the need for an external computer. This unit features an 214mm full VGA bright color display and rubberised QWERTY keypad. Included with all units in the series, at no additional charge, is the new Windows based PC software, PowerDB LITE. This computer interface is provided via an Ethernet port and provides the user with the ability to perform remote-control testing as well as directly download data to a PC (for later analysis, trending, report generating, archiving, and/or printing). TTR320. Features a graphical ICON based view, providing the user with the ability to set-up and control the unit through easy-to-read on-screen icons. The TTR320 features an RS232 serial port, for printing of test results to a thermal 4 paper-spool printer, a USB port, for storing data to an external USB memory device. This unit features a 144mm full VGA bright color display and rubberized QWERTY keypad. Included with all units in the series, at no additional charge, is the PC based software PowerDB LITE. This computer interface is provided via an Ethernet port and provides the user with the ability to perform remote-control testing as well as directly download data to a PC (for later analysis, trending, report generation, archiving, and/or printing). 4 TTR310. Features an alphanumeric based view, providing the user with the ability to set-up and control the unit through easy-to-follow on-screen menus. The TTR310 also features an RS232 serial port, for printing of test results, to a thermal 4 paper-spool printer. This unit features a 145mm Black & White LCD display and rubberised numeric keypad. Included with all units in the series, at no additional charge, is the PC based software PowerDB LITE. This computer interface is provided via the RS232 serial port and provides the user with the ability to perform remote-control testing as well as directly download data to a PC (for later analysis, trending, archiving, and/or printing). TTR300. Features a remote-control black box test configuration, via the PC based software PowerDB LITE. This computer interface is provided via an RS232 serial port, and provides the user with the ability to perform remote-control testing and then either immediately, or at a later time, perform data analysis, trending, archiving, and/or printing). This unit provides all the functionality of the high-end TTR330, at a fraction of the cost. Common to each unit in the series, is a sturdy case (which is waterproof to IP54 when closed), and which features a removable lid. Also, each unit employs two large ruggedized H and X bayonet style metal connectors, with plenty of space between them to ensure easy attachment in the field. Also, common to all units in the series, are new standard accessory lead-sets utilizing large Ruggedized clamps (on the transformer end) as well as right-angle bayonet connectors (on the instrument end). All units in the range, also employ the panel-mount connector (for use with optional remote-test button cable, when testing with Load-Tap-Changers). Also included with this new range, is an enhanced transit case. This new transit case allows the user to operate the TTR instrument while it remains in the transit case. Further, the leadsets may remain connected to the TTR, while the transit case is closed and in transit. These two features provide the user with the ability to conduct their field testing with minimal set-up time (very important to users in cold climates). Page 4of 8

5 OBJECTIVE The introduction of the new TTR300 series provides us with the opportunity to establish Megger as an industry leader in bringing innovative solutions to the marketplace. Such innovation brings all the advantages of modern day communications technology and data analysis/control tools to the trusted TTR test methods and practices that have been employed by Transformer test technicians, for decades. Many of the existing competitors have made various small steps in this direction, however, none has even come close to providing the full-solution package as provided throughout our range. As an added bonus to all the new communications and control features, is ability to field-upgrade any one unit to any other unit in the range. This is the ultimate future proofing capability. The TTR330, with PowerDB OnBoard, will sit as the high-end premium tester in the range and will be offered to those users who desire to conduct testing via a forms based approach. The TTR320 may be offered to those users who cannot afford a TTR330 or who neither have the desire to conduct testing through an on-screen test form nor the desire to directly print their results on an 8.5 x11 paper sheet. The TTR310 may be offered to those users who have a limited budget and cannot afford either the TTR320 or TTR330 test sets, but do have a desire to perform standalone testing in the field. The TTR300 may be offered to those users who have a limited budget and cannot afford either the TTR310, TTR320, or TTR330 test sets, and are willing to conduct their testing via an external computer. Alternatively, the very advance user (such as in a Transformer Manufacturing plant), who may not have a budget constraint, may still choose the TTR300 over any other units in the range, as this user may plan to conduct all their testing in a remotecontrol fashion, and therefore, does not need a stand-alone test capability. 6 Having multiple units in our 3-phase TTR range, now provides our sales personnel with the ability to sell both up and down the range, as the specifics of a given opportunity dictates. The user should take comfort in knowing, no matter which unit they decide on purchasing, they will have the ability to field upgrade their unit, at a later time, to any other unit in the range. This patent-pending future-proofing feature provides us with a very powerful sales message as our competitors struggle to position their (limited) offerings against our full range. IMPORTANT! The new TTR300 series lead-sets utilize different connectors as compared to those on the existing TTR and, as such, the new-vs-old lead-sets are not directly interchangeable. However, Megger will be offering optional lead-set adapters so that, if purchased, then the user could use either lead-set on either machine. Also note, the RS232 port, as provided on the existing TTR, is provided on the new TTR300, TTR310, and TTR320 models only (not on the TTR330). The TTR330 interfaces with a USB printer and Ethernet to a PC and thus, has no need for an RS232 serial port. 7 Selling Strategy Target existing Megger TTR customers as well as securing new opportunities with electrical power utilities (Installation and Maintenance departments for both Transmission and Distribution), Testing companies, Large Industrial firms, Transformer Manufacturers, and Military equipment users. Point out that the same proven measurement circuitry of the existing Megger 3-phase TTR (p/n ) is employed, however, there are many new exciting features provided in the areas of onboard communications and data analysis/control. Begin by selling the TTR330 product o Cover the TTR330 product differentiators, including the PowerDB OnBoard capabilities (forms based viewing/control/print, in-field data analysis/trending). o The display is by far the best in the industry. It features an 8.4 inch, full-vga color screen. Highlight the exceptional ability to easily read the screen even in direct sunlight. o Also point out that the on-screen forms can be customized by the user (if they have purchased the full PC version of PowerDB). Customized forms are uploaded into the machine (from the desktop/laptop), via the Ethernet port, and show up in the list of available test forms in the instrument. o Data files (test forms) can be stored either internally in the TTR330 (up to 1000 test forms) or to an external USB memory device (for later saving into their PC (desktop or laptop). o A fully sealed and ruggedized QWERTY keypad is provided for the entering of alpha-numeric characters into the test forms, i.e. nameplate data, voltage ratios, tap information, as well as any pertinent comments/notes. o Via the built-in Ethernet port (and if the user has the full version PowerDB running on a desktop/laptop), the user can operate the TTR330 in a remote-control mode. Based on Customer feedback, sales person may then choose to sell down the range, as the situation warrants, pointing out the field upgrade (futureproofing) capability. Page 7of 8

8 Also explain additional other important features and benefits, including the fact it is weather resistant (IP54 compliant), with the removable lid closed. For added safety, a large Red/Yellow Emergency Stop (E-Stop) button is provided in the event of an emergency. The ruggedized leadsets provide improved features on both ends of the cable. On the instrument end, both the H and X leads feature large durable rightangle bayonet connectors, spaced sufficiently apart, that even the largest hand has plenty of room to secure each connector to the panel. On the far end, the clamps have been made much larger and more durable, as compared to those clamps used on the existing leadsets. Page 8of 8
