1 PRODUCT EOL/MIGRATION NOTICE # Date: November 11, 2015 Product: XTend 900MHz RF Modules and PKGs Notice: Effective November 11, 2015 Digi will begin the EOL and migration process for all XTend 900MHz RF modules and PKGs. This EOL is due to the market obsolescence of multiple critical components used in the product. To assist our valued customers, we will provide multiple migration options; a pin-compatible/over-the-air compatible lacement option, and a smaller XBee SMT form factor option for customers interested in reducing the footprint of their embedded design while maintaining XTend over-the-air compatibility. More details on this are noted below. All affected part numbers are listed in the table below for reference, along with part numbers recommended for migration. Samples will be provided upon request. All last time buy orders for existing XTend part numbers must be placed by March 31, 2016 and all orders will be non-cancellable and non-returnable (NCNR). The last time ship date for all orders will be May 31, Please work with your local resentative to schedule your last time buy orders as soon as possible. Last Time Buy (LTB) March 31, 2016 Last Time Ship (LTS) May 31, 2016 Recommendation: For XTend RF module customers; 1. XTend v.b A pin-compatible module in the same form-factor as the current XTend, which does not require a redesign for existing XTend hardware designs and is over-theair compatible with XTend modules. Note there will be new part numbers and certification IDs (FCC ID, etc.) for these modules. 2. XBee-PRO XTC A new XBee Surface Mount module with 1-Watt output power that is over-the-air compatible with XTend modules. This allows customers to migrate to the XBee SMT form factor, which is ideal for those interested in reducing the size of their design while maintaining OTA compatibility. With this form factor, customers will have the option to upgrade to new and improved XBee SMT modules in the future. Note there will be new part numbers and certification IDs for these modules.
