7 SOLID AND CLEAR, HOT OR COLD. INMOULD TRANSPARENT GRAPHICS Transparent graphics are applied the same way as solid graphics but allow the colour of the plastic underneath to show through. INMOULD GRAPHICS are applied inside the mould before the moulding process begins. They can be applied to moulds at virtually any temperature, from cold to very hot, saving time by eliminating the need for pre-heating or cooling the mould. By the end of the process, our graphics are fully moulded into the product and sit ush with the surface of the plastic. INMOULD SOLID COLOUR GRAPHICS Once the moulding process is nished, the opacity of the solid graphic is so dense that it prevents any show through from the plastic underneath - even when a white graphic is applied to black plastic. QUICK AND EASY APPLICATION INMOULD Solid and Clear Graphics are supplied pre-coated with pressure sensitive adhesive. Simply peel off the anti-stick backing and apply to the mould surface. 11 INMOULD GRAPHICS CASE STUDY CLIENT STALLION PLASTICS, PALMERSTON NORTH, NEW ZEALAND PROJECT LOVE NZ RECYCLING BINS, WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL THE CHALLENGE IN 2007, WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL EMBARKED ON A NEW INITIATIVE FOR KEEPING THE CITY CLEAN WITH ITS LOVE NZ RECYCLING CAMPAIGN. A KEY COMPONENT WAS A NEWLY DESIGNED RECYCLING BIN FOR EMPTY DRINK CONTAINERS TO BE INSTALLED IN PUBLIC AREAS THROUGHOUT THE CITY. EACH BIN NEEDED BRANDING AND A CLEAR SET OF INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE IT. THE SOLUTION Charged with producing the moulded plastic bins, Stallion Plastics needed a highly visible and more durable graphics system than standard sticky labels or screen-printing. The company turned to PSI Brand, whose inmould graphics system is well proven for withstanding the wear and tear of public use and the destructive effects of constant exposure to the weather. Its multi-layered clear coating is also resistant to the chemicals used for cleaning the bins. The bright green Love NZ branding and instructional graphics on the new bins are a vibrant, ever present reminder of the need to recycle. 12 POSTMOULD GRAPHICS CASE STUDY CLIENT HUSTLER EQUIPMENT, HASTINGS, NEW ZEALAND PROJECT BRANDING A RANGE OF IMPORTED HORTICULTURE PRODUCTS THE CHALLENGE HUSTLER EQUIPMENT, A NEW ZEALAND MANUFACTURER AND SUPPLIER OF AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT, WAS LOOKING TO BRAND A RANGE OF IMPORTED SPRAYERS. THE PLAN WAS TO IMPORT JUST A FEW SPRAYERS INITIALLY, SO THE COMPANY COULD GAUGE REACTION AND GET FEEDBACK FROM DEALERS. THE GRAPHICS SYSTEM FOR BRANDING THE FIRST SHIPMENT OF SPRAYERS NEEDED TO BE QUICK AND EASY TO APPLY, AS WELL AS STRONG AND DURABLE TO REINFORCE THE COMPANY S POSITION AS A DEPENDABLE SUPPLIER OF HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTS. THE SOLUTION PSI Brand ful lled the requirements on two fronts. First, we provided an application kit and some sample POSTMOULD labels for the team at Hustler to see just how easy it is to apply graphics to an existing rotomoulded product, using the application video on our website. We then produced an economical short run of Hustler graphics that enabled the company to brand its rst trial shipment of sprayers. The dealer trial was a success and the new Hustler sprayer has since been launched in New Zealand, complete with PSI Brand POSTMOULD graphics.
