The combination of an extremely smooth SBS mount board, acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive, with just the right amount of tack and a heavy, easy to remove release paper makes ParaMount - Pressure Sensitive Mount Board superior to other "peel n' stick" products. Mounting is simple and easy, peel back the release paper about an inch, align the print with the edge of the mount board and slowly peel back the rest of the release paper while smoothing the entire surface to avoid trapping any bubbles. 12 Technical Information Hot Melt Adhesive - The "heat activated" hot melt which provides the adhesive for mounting the photograph is applied to 24 pt. SBS at our supplier's facility, which specializes in coating applications. In addition to specializing in coatings, the latest technology is utilized to deliver a consistent, smooth and flat product. The hot melt has a ph of and will not interact chemically with photographic emulsions. The hot melt is "heat activated at 200º - 210º and, depending on the size of the print and type of heat press, a dwell time of only seconds is required to adhere a photographic print. Pressure Sensitive Adhesive - The "pressure sensitive" adhesive which provides the adhesive for mounting the photograph is applied to 24 pt. SBS at our supplier's facility, which specializes in coating and laminating applications. To ensure ease of use, ParaMount - Pressure Sensitive Mount Board is supplied with a heavy duty 5 mil release paper and a high tack acrylic adhesive to achieve a quick and permanent bond. The acrylic "pressure sensitive" adhesive is specially formulated for the photographic industry and will not interact with photographic emulsions or digital prints. 24 pt. SBS - Backing Board - SBS (solid bleached sulfate) is an extremely stable substrate used throughout the printing and folding carton industries because of it's unique properties. SBS is virgin board utilizing bleached fibers from both softwood and hardwood trees, with about 80% coming from hardwood trees. When formed into a sheet utilizing Fourdrinier forming technology and matted into paperboard; these hardwood fibers form a smooth white sheet, ideal for high-tech packaging. SBS has an almost neutral ph value of Laminating Adhesive - The adhesive used to "buildup" the plies of ParaMount from Single Weight to another ply thickness; is a vegetable based, food grade adhesive product, that is extremely environmentally friendly. This product does not qualify as Hazardous Waste as determined by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Bevel and Paint - ParaMount Gold Bevel Board is five (5) plies thick ( 129 pt.) and beveled at a 40º bevel to increase the amount of the gold edge that will show and enhance the appearance of your presentation. The bevel and a small overlap on the face of the mount board are sprayed with an non-flaking metallic paint. Packaging - ParaMount - Mount Board Products are shipped in pre-packaged quantities depending on the weight of the mount board, please refer to the price list for quantities per carton. Each package of mount board is wrapped in poly coated paper to ensure that it remains clean and dry during shipment and storage. ParaMount products are shipped in "damage resistant" double wall corrugated cartons with "crushable" panels of expanded polystyrene to protect the product from damage during shipment and storage.
