Where specific brands have been requested by teachers, that is what is required for that subject. It will be the student s responsibility to replace items as needed. Items not listed (e.g. Homework Diary, Text Books) will be supplied through the College. A Combination Lock for student lockers will be supplied by the College. A fee of $30 will be charged (similarly to our text book hire) if the combination lock is not returned at the end of year. Two magazine holders are very useful for organizing books in lockers. 4 Information Technology Requirements Years 9-12 St Andrews Lutheran College operates a parent owned BYOT Bring Your Own Technology environment in the Middle and Senior Schools. Under a BYOT program, students are able to connect a technology device of choice to the College WIFI and access electronic College resources. Allowing students to choose their preferred device enables them to work with technology they are already familiar and comfortable with. It also encourages greater responsibility of their device. As BYOT allows students access to the same devices at school and at home, it can extend learning opportunities to times and places outside of the classroom. It is compulsory for all students to bring a device to school for educational use. The College s IT device pathway for Middle and Senior School is listed below. Year 7-8 Parent owned and managed 1:1 ipad Program Year 9 Transitional BYOT Program ipad is still the preferred device, however there is an option to upgrade to a device of choice Year BYOT program Students are able to bring a device of their choice to school to use for educational purposes Microsoft Office 365 is provided free to students to use on their own device. Microsoft OneNote (which is part of the Office 365 suite) is a compulsory install on all student devices as this forms part of the College Learning Management System. Note: Devices marketed as bgn probably do not support the required standard. Advertised battery life of at least six hours 128 HDD minimum The following software is available for free through the school. Please see IT Helpdesk for assistance. Microsoft Office 365 suite (including Onenote) Adobe Suite Not compulsory, (the following subjects may require this IPT, Art, Prac Tech) Internet Browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 or later or Google Chrome 60 or later or Mozilla Firefox 50 or later Safari 10 or later PDF Viewer (Adobe PDF Reader recommended where possible) Headphones or earbuds are required for some online tasks.
