Introduction to Leica TruView Global Access Point Cloud Data Anywhere, Anytime, on Any Device 1 INTRODUCTION Leica Geosystems updated TruView Global product line provides a new way to share TruView data. It enhances the data sharing features and user experience for more flexible deployment options. 1.1 HISTORY: Since the inception of Leica TruView, the core process for generating and sharing TruView data has remained the same. Users must have a Leica Cyclone project that contains multiple ScanWorlds combined into a single registration. Cyclone can also accept raw or registered data from many other sources. Users with data from mobile scanners (including Leica Pegasus series), handheld scanners, FARO scanners, Z+F scanners, and other systems or software can also import their data into Cyclone for the purpose of creating and sharing TruViews as a critical part of their scanning workflow and deliverables. Users publish TruView data sets using the Cyclone PUBLISHER module. The publishing process creates a SiteMap showing the layout of scanner positions in the project; the map s markers are hyperlinks to TruViews, a measurable 3D panoramic data set generated for each scanner location. Historically, once a TruView data set is published, users had several options for sharing the data. Post it to a website Access it on a local network or hard disk Pass a copy of the entire data set to others via memory stick, DVD, etc. Diagram of content access using tradition TruView IE Plug-in 3

SiteMap Once distributed by one of these three methods, all users access the TruViews in the same manner: installingthe TruView Internet Explorer Plugin and opening the TruView data in the Internet Explorer Browser. Therefore, historically, the only way to access TruView data was on a Microsoft Windows based computer, using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, and installing an ActiveX-enabled plug-in. 1.2 WEBSITE HOSTED TRUVIEWS (PRE TRUVIEW GLOBAL): One very common usage scenario for TruView data owners is to setup a website to host their TruView data. This makes it easy for users to access various projects via the web. This requires the data owner to create and maintain a website or outsource this service. Published TruView data is a simplified data structure, making it very easy to host the files on a website without special back-end software or virtual servers. This, however, leaves the entire management of this data and its website to the data owner, which can be difficult and time consuming or expensive to outsource in order to maintain a professional looking and working website. Creating data security with user logins only adds to the technical skillset required. 1.3 SOME THINGS DON T CHANGE: TruView Global introduces several revolutionary advancements, while many parts of the current process remain the same: 4 Data owners still Publish TruView data sets from Cyclone projects using Cyclone PUBLISHER. The publishing process with Cyclone PUBLISHER remains exactly the same. Published TruView data can still be used with the Internet Explorer TruView Plugin users can simultaneously maintain current workflows if that remains advantageous. 1.4 LOTS OF NEW THINGS TOO: With TruView Global, Leica Geosystems introduces a new way to distribute and allow access to TruView data sets, taking advantage of modern browser capabilities. Yet by not changing the Cyclone publishing process, TruView Global works for any existing TruView data sets (published last week or last year) and for all newly published data going forward. TruView Global adds new capabilities that greatly extend the accessibility and delivery of TruView data, including: TruView Client Plugin in Internet Explorer Providing a web or intranet portal for hosting your TruView Data. Providing tiered data security for projects with options for public access (no login) or user login, including different user level privileges. Allowing users to access and view the data from a wide variety of devices and browsers with no need to install a plug-in or app.

o Including Mac and PC computers, and ios (Apple) and Android tablets and smart phones. Allowing users to easily place markups for instant sharing with all other users. TruView Global provides users a complete environment for hosting and serving TruView data to a much wider audience, with better security, and a more professional presentation and interface. 2 TRUVIEW GLOBAL S NEW FRONT-END EXPERIENCE The new TruView Global end user experience is much the same as its initial release, but has also been greatly enhanced. The Same Features Users Know and Love: Users can still visit the data on an in-house network or on the Internet Users still have a SiteMap as the entry point to see the data Users still have a single pick on a scanner location to be launched into the panoramic, measurable view Users can still Jump from one scanner position to another by a single click on the scanner neighbor icons they can see in the panoramic scene Users can still measure and also make Snapshot markups to place dimensions, annotations, arrows, boxes and circles Users can still easily edit the format of the markups colors, sizes, etc. Users can still control the visibility of neighbor icons by using various filters New Capabilities: Users don t need to install any software or App Users can access the TruView data from any modern WebGL and HTML5 capable browser Users can access the TruView data from smart phones and tablets running either ios (Apple) or Android, or Mac OS machines, in addition to Windows based computers. A reactive/adaptive interface resizes and reorganizes depending on the screen size/device type Touch-enabled devices allow users to use touch control for zoom and pan operations, as well as all other command button picking, etc. Users are offered an auto-generated web portal front-end (no more site building and maintenance!) The web portal organizes the datasets into logical groups This Group is named UK and contains 3 Sites 5 The web portal provides alternate entry points to the data in addition to the traditional SiteMap, such as a list of ScanWorld names with thumbnail views.

Users' markups are now automatically added to the site with live syncing so other users can see the markups without the need of intervention o webmaster (as was the case before). 2.1 LOGIN CAPABILITY: Users are asked to login as a first step to entering the new portal front page. The TruView Global administrator(s) have complete control of user accounts (See the Back-End capabilities section for a complete description). Users can request a new account and can request a change in password 2.2 NEW PORTAL FRONT PAGE: Once logged in, users are presented with a new front page on the portal. The site administrator has organized all available sites into appropriate Groups, presented to the user on the portal front page. Clicking on a selected site (group) opens the Site Page, which starts by showing the active SiteMap, from which a user can select a given scanner position/scanworld to visit as a panoramic, measurable image. 2.3 THE SITE PAGE: Each published TruView data set includes a SiteMap. The Site Page opens to a view of the active SiteMap. Users select one of the scanner position icons(yellow triangles pyramids) to be launched into a panoramic view of that location. Users can also select an alternate view by selecting the Available Scans tab. 6

2.4 THE SITE PAGE S AVAILABLE SCANS TAB: By selecting the Available Scans tab, a user sees a listing of all available ScanWorlds for the site. The ScanWorld names may be relevant such as Room 1, Loading Dock Area, Floor 3 Lobby, etc. In this case it provides an alternate way to find the area of interest. 2.5 THE SITE PAGE S GEOTAGS TAB By selecting the Geotags tab, a user sees a tabular listing of all available GeoTags for the site. GeoTags are are tagged locations within the project. They typically have a hyperlink embedded in them to relevant data/documents/webpages, etc. Geotags can belong a category such as Electrical or Street Signs. Users can set a filter to show All categories or show only one selected category. They can also search and sort the GeoTags in the table. One of the columns in the table shows the number of scanworlds where each GeoTag is visible. Users can expand the field to show the list of scanworlds, sorted by order of distance to the GeoTag from the scanner location. By clicking on a selected scanworld, the TruView viewer opens that scanworld and turns and zooms the camera to the GeoTag. 7

2.6 THE SITE PAGE S SNAPSHOTS TAB By selecting the Snapshots tab, a user sees a tabular listing of all available Snapshots in the site. Snapshots are saved views within the project that can have markups like dimensions, text arrows, etc. These snapts are a primary communication method for users to leave behind notes and information for other users. Users can scroll through the pages of these tabular listings of the snapshots. They can also search and sort the Snapshot listings in the table. One of the columns in the table shows the number of markups on each Snapshot and users can expand the tabular listing to show all of the markups on each Snapshot. Users can also click on the Snapshot name and this opens the appropriate scanworld in the viewer and calls up the snapshot. 2.7 THE TRUVIEW APPLICATION: Once a user selects a scan position/scanworld to visit, they are entered into a panoramic view with many easy to use tools and features. Collapsible menu panel for full screen viewing Ability to create/delete Snapshots for placing markups o Markups include: lines, arrows, boxes, circles, text, and dimensions Ability to navigate to Snapshot views to edit markups Measurement tools for use in Pano mode Filters to control visibility of neighbors GeoTag/Hotlink creation and review o Navigate to available GeoTags/Hotlinks o Create/Edit GeoTags/Hotlinks 8

Sidebar panel can be collapsed or expanded. 2. List of synchronized markups. 3. Expandable controls for tools. 4. Geotags/Hotlinks visible within the panoramic view. 5. Neighbor scan position/scanworld. 6. The imagery is a full spherical panorama that can be rotated/zoomed/panned. 2.8 TAKING MEASUREMENTS: By expanding the Take Measurements tool panel, users are offered measurement capabilities. Measurements only show temporary graphics and are NOT a markup tool for leaving permanent annotations. The Markup tools provide a persistent dimensioning tool. Measurement tools are intended to be used in a real-time manner to allow analysis and measurement while providing temporary graphic feedback so the user can see what has been measured. The Distance Measure tool provides an absolute distance between two selected points, as well as the X, Y and Z offset values in the current coordinate systems. This assists in determining actual elevations, etc. even though the viewing mode is restricted to a panoramic model. The measurement values are provided in the user s selected format for units. The Angle Measure tool takes an input of 3 consecutive points to define two lines/vectors and returns the angle between them. These values are always provided in decimal degrees. 9

Red/Yellow line shows span of distance dimension 2.9 MANAGING NEIGHBORS: In the TruView panoramic viewer, Neighbors (nearby ScanWorlds) are represented by yellow triangle or pyramid icons shown in the scene. The icons are scaled by distance so that those farther away look smaller. Users can control the visibility of neighbors by using the filter controls found in the Neighbors menu panel. Users can set the Units used by the filters Users can use a slider to set the number of Max Visible neighbors Users can turn visibility of neighbors icons On/Off Users can control if the Label (ScanWorld name) is displayed Users can set a range of visible neighbors by distance using a (near/far) slider Users can set a range of visible neighbors by elevation using a (lower/upper) slider 2.10 GEOTAGS/HOTLINKS: 10 GeoTags/Hotlinks can be used to link points in the data to web links or documents/files. Users can author GeoTags in Cyclone and these are translated into Hotlinks during the TruView publishing process. Users can also create Hotlinks manually within the panoramic viewer after TruView data has been published from Cyclone. In either case, the Hotlink data is available to TruView users in many ways. Users can use the GeoTag/Hotlink menu panel to see a list of available Hotlinks from the current scan location. There are various actions the user can take: o The user can click on one of the Hotlinks in the list and the TruView panoramic viewer will turn the viewpoint and zoom to the location of the Hotlink

o The bottom section of the menu panel will also show the HotLink Meta data Tag/Index: (A unique identifier used to link to other data systems) Category: A groping that the Hotlink belongs to Label: The name/label shown to the user on the screen Link: a Hyperlink to either a stored document or a web location o The user can select a Category to filter the total list of Hotlinks to show just the links associated to a single category o The user can create a new Hotlink in the current scan location. Note: currently this only supports linking to an external web location. The user can click on a Hotlink in the viewscreen area at any time and a new browser tab will open to the linked document or URL. In addition to the GeoTag panel interface inside the viewer, GeoTags can also be accessed via the GeoTags tab on the main Site page. This allows users to review all GeoTags in the site from a tabular interface and jump directly to the appropriate scanworld and viewpoint. See section 2.5 above for a complete description. This concludes the section covering the Front-End user capabilities. Note: All graphics in the above section show the TruView Global portal interface on a standard PC Computer screen. All features work in a similar fashion on a Mac OS machine, smartphone, or tablet. 11

3 TRUVIEW GLOBAL S BACK-END ADMINISTRATOR INTERFACE The TruView Global platform provides back-end administrator capabilities for managing all aspects of the system. Administrators can control: Portals: Portals define the organization of the data into segmented communities of users and data. TruView Global offers multiple Portals in which administrators organize a single TruView Global ProjectVault Server to support multiple, segmented sets of data. One ProjectVault Server can support multiple customers data, securely segmenting the data into separate portals so each customer s users can only access their respective data. One TruView Global ProjectVault Server can host separate portals for different audiences, such as customers or persons associated to a specific project A portal has its own entry point with a unique URL A portal has its own managed list of users All users on a portal can see all the data on that portal All users will have administrator managed read/write privileges Each portal can have one or more SiteMaps Each portal can have one or more Groups and each Group can have one or more SiteMaps Therefore, one Portal can contain different projects or areas of a project but all users with access to that portal can see all of its SiteMaps User Login accounts : Users and their rights (read/write privileges) are administered within TruView Global. Project data: These activities are reserved to an Administrator account and not managed by the day-to-day project personnel. Administrators can create the various types of user accounts, including other administrator accounts. Administrators set the policies for the total system and the access rights for each individual user account. The day-to-day process of uploading projects to individual portals and organizing data into groups. This may be managed by several individual project managers, drafters, etc. Access rights to upload data are available to all Administrator accounts and the Power User account type (see Types of User Login Accounts) Server administration: These are IT type activities of managing the server configuration, doing backups, setting up servers, etc. These activities are not part of the day-to-day project related activities. These activities are reserved for Administrator level accounts. 3.1 TYPES OF USER LOGIN ACCOUNTS: Admin User Power User Login User Anonymous User Public Data Access Protected Data Access * * View Snapshots Create/Manage Snapshots 12

Users select a registered set of data in Cyclone and publish the data into a TruView data set using Cyclone PUBLISHER. A Cyclone PUBLISHER license is still required to create TruView data sets Published TruView data sets are still usable with the original Internet Explorer plug-in (the legacy TruView client) GeoTags in Cyclone are still published in TruView data set (as Hotlinks) 3D models in Cyclone are still published in TruView data sets The Sitemap method or the KeyPlan method of publishing data both remain available Any legacy TruView data sets (From Cyclone 5.4 and newer) can be used with TruView Global to harness all of TruView Global s additional benefits 4.2 MOVING TRUVIEW DATASETS INTO TRUVIEW GLOBAL PROJECTVAULT Once a TruView data set is published, the data needs to be prepared for TruView Global s data structure using the newest version of the Leica TruView Pack & Go application. 16

The TruView publishing process, from Cyclone to TruView Global. TruView Pack & Go does several things to get the data ready for TruView Global: * Pack & Go determines if there are any linked files in the GeoTags and harvests those files. o Copies of the files are collected and packaged with the TruView data set in order to be accessible from TruView Global when users click on the Hotlinks. * Pack & Go also collects any markup/snapshot information and includes it in the TruView data set. o With traditional TruView, the Snapshot/markups are stored locally to computer on which they were created. They are copied into the main data set to be portable and transferable to TruView Global. o Users have the option of creating markups on their desktop using the traditional TruView plugin. This can be done at any time after the data is published from Cyclone and before it is Packed. This allows users to Author markups that will be available for all users on the TruView Global portal. * Pack & Go creates a TVG file containing all the TruView data sets, markups, hotlinks, and harvested linked files. The TVG file is uploaded (via drag and drop) to the TruView Global ProjectVault by an Administrator or Power User. * A further conversion process runs on the ProjectVault Server to complete the process and make the data available to TruView Global users. 5 THE SYSTEM STRUCTURE TruView Global introduces the concept of a data server called the TruView Global ProjectVault. This data server also supports multiple entry portals for segregated datasets. Users install the back-end server, licensed as several different components. However, while being a sophisticated system, the purchasing and installation process is simplified while TruView Global comes in two configurations (options) for purchase: 17

1. The 10 User version 2. The Enterprise, Unlimited Users version 10 Users Version Unlimited Users Version Configurable Portals 3 10 Users Per Portal 10 Unlimited Multi-Portal Access for Users Admin Users Only Yes* Public Site Creation No Yes Extend to support 25 portals No * Administrators option for Power and Login Users Yes 5.1 TRUVIEW GLOBAL 10 USER VERSION CONFIGURATION The 10 User version includes: Configuration of up to 3 Portals Creation and management of up to 10 users accounts per Portal Administrator accounts have access to multiple Portals 5.2 TRUVIEW GLOBAL UNLIMITED USER VERSION CONFIGURATION The Enterprise level Unlimited User version has an enhanced feature set and includes: Configuration of up to 10 portals Creation and management of unlimited user accounts per Portal Configuration of Administrator, Power, and Login Users to see multiple Portals (optional per user) Ability to create Public Sites (see Section 6 for more information on Public Sites). o Note: Public Sites offer Read-Only access to TruView data by Anonymous Users (users not logged in to a User Account). Anonymous Users accessing Public Sites cannot create markups, hotlinks, or snapshots. Ability to purchase a 15 portal extension license to increase total portals to PRIVATE VS PUBLIC SITES AND ABOUT SECURITY TruView Global uses the term Sites as the top level organizer for a TruView data set. One Site has one SiteMap and a number of TruView panoramic positions. Sites can be organized into Groups. By default, all Sites are Private sites. Login users enter to the All Sites page at login to a Portal Login users can see all Private and Public sites on the ProjectVault of that Portal Administrators can set any given site to be Public o The ProjectVault Server must be licensed for Unlimited Users for access to the Public Site option o Even the Unlimited users version which can support Public sites, can be configured with a poilicy by the Administrator to disable the Public Sites feature, totally disallowing the configuration of Public Sites. Public Sites show a different icon at the left side of their listing 18

o See the diagram below This Site has been made Public and has a different icon Public Sites can be shared with Anonymous Users (users with no login name or password). To share a Public Site, the exact URL (address) of the site or a webpage with an embedded link to the Public Site, must be used. Anonymous Users never see the All Sites page Anonymous Users, using the provided link, start at a SiteMap page of the given site Anonymous Users are Read Only users. o They CANNOT see the markup tools o They CANNOT create any snapshot/markups o They CAN see pre-existing snapshot/markups (made my other User types with the appropriate privileges) o The CAN access the measure tools, which only create temporary graphics to show where measurements were taken o Anyone visiting a Public site can login at any time if they have a user account. 6.1 ABOUT SECURITY TruView Global uses industry standard methods of user login security. All non-public sites have all data protected behind session level security. This is the same technology used by banks, government, and enterprise organizations. * No web page or data can be accessed without an active, valid login * Copying a URL from a page during an active login session and sending it to another person will NOT allow that person to access that page. If they attempt to visit that page they will be redirected to a login page. * User logins will deactivate after a preset time if there is no activity * Administrator can deactivate any account at any time. * Only sites (sitemaps) that have been configured as Public sites are reachable by users without a login. * Administrators have control to: o Completely disable Public site capability of any give portal o Grant or disallow each individual Power User the right to create Public sites. 19

Access is via this unique address Indicates access of a Public Site SiteMap as seen for a Public Site by an Anonymous User. 7 DEPLOYMENT OPTIONS AND METHODS TruView Global consists of two components which are installed and licensed in one easy step: TruView Global ProjectVault o Provides the data storage and access capabilities o Comprises the entire server environment and includes all administrative tools and capabilities TruView Global Generator o Installed with TruView ProjectVault but licensed separately o TruView Global Generator is the component that accepts uploads of TruView Sites to the ProjectVault. TruView Global owners have several options to deploy their TruView Global system. In all cases, the system is deployed as a VM (Virtual Machine). Leica Geosystems provides various versions of preconfigured VM s which are simply Expanded onto available hardware, licensed and ready to run. 1. You may reference the TruView Global Deployment Options.pdf document for a layman s description of the options which is also useful/instructive for IT professions to understand and advise during the consideration process. 2. Once one of the possible deployment methods is chosen, there are in-depth, step-by-step instructions provided to support the various installation processes. For deployment, owners will decide upon three basic scenarios and choose from a few different VM offerings depending on preferences: Owners will decide if they will run the VM on computers they already own and have installed in their own business locations OR if they will utilize a Cloud Service such as Amazon AWS. 20

If owners choose to use their own in-house hardware, they will make the second decision: keep it as an internal access project (Intranet) or open a port through their firewall and make it available across the Internet. o Note:Regardless of Intranet or Internet configurations, owners can still control if a TruView Site is Public or protected behind a login name and password system. If the owner chose to use a Cloud Service they can choose: a simple cloning method on Amazon AWS, where Leica HDS has preconfigured an installation which is easily cloned to the owner s own VM contracted from Amazon. OR, the owner can configure their own VM on any available service/hardware they already have or will contract for this purpose. In most cases (except the pre-configured Amazon clone install) owners can chose VM technology from VMWare, Oracle or Microsoft, depending upon their IT department s preference, knowledge and experience. 8 PURCHASE OPTIONS AND TYPES OF LICENSES TruView Global has several licensed components with various types of licensing terms. At the top level is the decision between two basic product offerings: the TruView Global 10 User package, or the TruView Global Unlimited User package. Both packages include the same components, with the core difference being the number of users, although other differences exist. 8.1 TRUVIEW GLOBAL 10 USER PACKAGE: 21 The 10 User version is best suited for small organizations using TruView as an internal communication tool and only sharing with external customers, vendors or partners on a limited basis. The 10 User version will allow you to host unlimited Sites (Sitemaps), but is limited to 3 Portals in which to contain and/or group the sites. Therefore it is most useful when a single organization is accessing the data. The Portals can then be utilized to host 3 separate groups of users or 3 separate Sites/Projects. Another popular configuration is to have one Portal as a live project Portal, have a second reserved as a staging Portal (to test projects before they go live), and a third Demo Portal to demonstrate example data and/or deliverables to 3 rd parties. The 10 User version does not allow the Public Site option (which allows an unlimited number of Anonymous Users). The TruView Global 10 User package is ½ the price of the Unlimited User version. It is intended as a cost saving option, suited for companies with a smaller user base or to provide an easier technology adoption option. A seamless upgrade from the 10 User version to the Unlimited User version is possible through a simple purchase and installation of the upgraded license. 8.2 TRUVIEW GLOBAL UNLIMITED USER PACKAGE: The TruView Global Unlimited User package is ideal for users with a large community of users/projects to support. The Unlimited User version has the following enhanced features/benefits: The administrator can configure up to 10 Portals There is NO limit on the number of user accounts per Portal o More computer/server resources may be required for more concurrent users. o Leica HDS benchmarking has shown user connections require very little bandwidth; most default computer server configurations should work well with as many as 100 users. Public Sites. o Making a Site Public allows any number of Anonymous Users to view the site (in read-only mode) 15 Portal Extension license. The Unlimited User Package can accept a 15 portal extension license for a total support of 25 portals.

8.3 TRUVIEW GLOBAL PROJECTVAULT This product is sold with a perpetual license o A one-time purchase provides the product forever in the purchased version. This product is also offered with CCP (Customer Care Package) o CCP is a yearly maintenance/support/update fee. o Keeping CCP current is required to receive product updates, including new versions and features o Some bug fixing may be done for older versions, but keeping CCP current is the best way to maintain access to the latest technology 8.4 TRUVIEW GLOBAL GENERATOR This product is sold on a yearly term basis o During the year term, users receive all available product updates o During the year term, the product operates to allow the uploading of unlimited new Sites into the ProjectVault o When the year term terminates, users can no longer add/generate new sites to the ProjectVault o All uploaded/generated sites REMAIN ACTIVE within ProjectVault for the life of the ProjectVault server, even after the Generator one-year term terminates. ProjectVault is a perpetual license. All data uploaded to ProjectVault is available indefinitely (unless deleted by the owner/user) An active Generator license is NOT needed to access TruView Global data in the ProjectVault 8.5 PURCHASE OPTIONS Both the 10 User and Unlimited User versions of TruView Global are offered as a bundled offering for the first year. With the purchase of a single item bundle, customers receive both the perpetual TruView Global ProjectVault and the first full one-year term of TruView Global Generator. Additionally there is the CCP offering for TruView Global ProjectVault and also multi-year (one, two, and three year) renewal options for TruView Global Generator term licenses. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Q: Do you still need Cyclone PUBLISHER? A: Yes, TruView Global is a new portal environment with a ProjectVault that allows you to more effectively share new and existing TruView data created by Cyclone PUBLISHER. Q: Can you PUBLISH directly from Cyclone to the TruView Global ProjectVault? A: No, once you have published TruView data from Cyclone you must run it through the Pack & Go processor to prepare it for uploading to TruView Global Q: Is there an extra cost for TruView Global if you already have Cyclone PUBLISHER? A: Yes, TruView Global is a separate product that lets you host new or existing data created by Cyclone PUBLISHER. Q: What devices can users use to see TruView Global data? A: In addition to Windows based computers, users can access TruView Global data from Mac computersand smart phones and tablets (including Android, ios, and Windows Mobile operating systems).. For a complete detailed and updated listing of supported devices you can see The TruView Global Compatibility Matrix for Servers and Clients: Q: Is TruView Global a Hosted offering where I can/must place my TruView data on Leica Geosystems servers and pay for the service? 22

A: No, TruView Global is NOT currently offered as a hosted service. Users must buy the TruView Global software and install it on their own company network computer or configure their own a virtual server in-the-cloud via Amazon AWS or other online service providers. Q: If TruView Global is not a hosted service, where do I install it, what kind of computer, etc. A: The TruView Global ProjectVault can be installed in several different ways: For internal use only, users can install it on any server type computer on your company network. The installers are configured as VM s (Virtual Machines) so some IT infrastructure and understanding is essential. In this installation, anyone inside the company network can visit the TruView Global portal. Even if TruView Global is installed on your internal company network, it is possible to Open the network to the Internet. This allows anyone one the Internet to also visit the TruView Global portal. This requires (minimal) in-place infrastructure and knowledge, but it is common that companies will have what is required. For a pure Cloud based implementation, customers can contract/rent virtual computer space in the cloud from providers like Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure. In this instance, customers install TruView Global ProjectVault on these rented cloud based computers to make TruView Global available across the web. Q: How can I make TruView Global data available in an Unconnected (non-internet reliant) way so I can hand it out on a thumb drive or access it without need to connect to the TruView Global ProjectVault/Portal online? A: At this time you cannot do access TruView Global offline; however, You can still use the same TruView data with the Internet Explorer TruView client plug-in for offline access. Leica Geosystems has an offline portability feature in the feature roadmap for TruView Global. Q: Is there an API or SDK I can use to customize TruView Global or integrate it with other software? A: Yes, the TruView Global API is licensed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact your local Leica HDS representative and ask them to connect you with the HDS software management team for more information. Q: Now that there is TruView Global, does the old TruView stop working? A: No, you can keep using TruView exactly the same way you always have. The traditional TruView Internet Explorer plug-in is still available and still works with any data published by Cyclone PUBLISHER. However, data that is hosted on a TruView Global portal no longer requires the plugin. 23
