1 Dashboard: Overview, search and plan content and resources The Infomaker Dashboard gives you a common tool for planning, content creation and publishing workflows. The Dashboard gives you access to a number of tools to support your everyday digital worklife. There are lots of Dashboard apps available out of the box, and on top of that Dashboard is also open for your developers to create new apps and modules. What you see is up to you! 1
2 Dayparting your web sites and apps With Newsday planner you can control your newsfeeds and distribute your content over the day based on statistics and knowledge about when certain news, and specific content, is best received. Make sure you have a story breaking early in the morning, before lunch and when people get off work. The time slots are fully customizable so you can decide what times are important for you. You can also create a weekly planner instead of the daily planning. Re-planning is as easy as drag and drop from one slot to another. And of course, you can also see the most important metadata at a glance. Your readers expect you to serve them with relevant and correct news. A digital planning tool helps you get ensured that you are delivering this to your readers and you get a clear overview of all your planned publishings. -For us, this planning tool to help us focus our digital publishing has been a great help when it comes to improving the the entire workflow for our editors. 3 Curating your content using lists and editions There are different ways of planning content manually creating lists and story packages is one. Whether you are planning web sites or apps, Lists & Packages is for you. Algorithms are great, but sometimes you really want full control over your content, selection and order. When you need to curate the top news, the right now or the event list of your site, Dashboard lists is an easy way of doing that. A List is a standard object stored in Open Content, available for all your presentation solutions, like your web sites and news apps. A right-now list. Drop articles to any position of the list. Or change the order using drag and drop. Packages are digital editions, a selection of content. With a minimum of fuss editions can be created and published, delivering a beautiful reading experience in a familiar format with your typography and brand within the pre-packaged article template. Packages are built on lists, but also have their own cover, publishing date and time. This way you can pre-publish packages for your readers, for example every morning. Digital Editions are a great way to create a reading habit, especially with our push notification Dashboard app. Our Everyware and App Platform both come with built in support for Lists & Packages, but you can of course build support for it yourself too. 4 Control and administrate your metadata Dashboard Concept Admin is the administrative tool that will help you keep your metadata up-to-date and well structured. OC Concepts is a metadata structure, and one of the most important parts of that is of course how to use it. For the editor, but also for the developer as well as the end user. We have all of that figured out. Part of the structure is also the additional information regarding the actual concept short and or long description, links, etc, status, creator etc.. 5 Open for 3rd parties and your developers The Dashboard is an open environment where you can add 3rd party modules or write your own extensions. As as developer you are able to develop plugins that runs inside the Dashboard. You write the plugins in javascript using the React framework, and deploy them at any web server. Content suppliers, like TT Nyhetsbyrån, make their content available within the Dashboard. Infomaker have several modules available for the Digital Writer NewsML format, and we have examples of integrations with other services as well. 6 The Dashboard Q&A Some good-to-know info! What does it cost? Dashboard is usually part of our Production Universe. It has a simple licensing model. No upfront license or development costs. One monthly payment covers all: support, updates and hosting. No long-term contract period. The monthly fee depends of choice of functions and number of users. I want the Dashboard. How do I get it? To get started with Dashboard, we set up an onboarding project. The size could vary from really small to quite large depending of integrations needed, customization or perhaps new development needed. Do I need to install any extra backend servers? No, the Dashboard is delivered as a cloud service. Integrate the services you want to see in the Dashboard. If you need to create content you need our hosted content backend, Open Content. What if we have some really awesome ideas we want in the Dashboard? Love to hear that! We can help you to implement new functions or modules in the Dashboard. And if that is of value for the platform it could be developed as a joint venture project to be a part of the platform. How are upgrades to the platform managed? The platform continuously evolves with fix bugs, enhances and add new functions.
