4 Introduction These release notes contain information about new and changed functionality for BlackBerry AtHoc Networked Crisis Communication Release 7.3 (Cloud). Introduction 4

5 New in release 7.3 The following sections describe new and changed features in the BlackBerry AtHoc product suite. Alerts and alert reporting Alerts body length The alert body length limit was increased to 4000 characters. Authentication and security Restricted operator access to view users in alert reports Operator access to view users in alert reports was restricted. Operators who have a restricted user base cannot view information about users outside of their authorized user base, including in advanced reports, alert report summaries, delivery summary CSV files, or from the details tab of a sent alert. A banner indicates how many users out of the total number are accessible for an operator with a restricted user base. BlackBerry AtHoc management system Management system updates GPS coordinates for incoming alerts were added to the Live Map and Inbox for auditing and easy reference. Two new gateways (OEM Cloud Delivery Service East and West) were added to support digitally-signed s through OEM. The following pages can now be accessed from all supported browsers: Archive, System Health, Global System Health, Diagnostic Log, and System Jobs. The IIM Management page was removed. The WAM folder was removed. user move When using an set up with unique users, you can move a user between two sub organizations while retaining all user contact information and historical alerts. user move is available through User Manager or the the Import/Export process. Supported by the Mobile app, Desktop app, and Self Service. Automatically revokes operator permissions after movement. New in release 7.3 5

6 Import and export users When using an set up with unique users, you can now import users at the enterprise and add them directly into sub organizations. Additionally, any users available in the enterprise can be exported. Functionality changes and regressions Links to BlackBerry AtHoc documentation on the Help and Support page in the management console now point to help.blackberry.com instead of to PDFs embedded in the product. Character limits were standardized at 128 characters for organizational hierarchies, attributes, and distribution list names. Changes to user status are not recommended during publishing. Make sure to set the correct user status before publishing an alert. Characters in audio file names have been restricted. The following characters are unsupported: \ / : * < > & Integrated Weather Alerts IWA includes an option to copy map and geo-location information from an incoming weather feed to a triggered alert. IWA alert templates include a Message Type field that provides more flexibility in filtering data from incoming weather feeds. The available message types are: Advisory Alert Danger Outlook Statement Warning Watch Special IWA placeholders for alert content enable more use of information from the weather feed. The available special placeholders are: $FeedHeadline$ $FeedEvent$ $FeedDescription$ $FeedInstruction$ $FeedSenderName$ $FeedEffective$ $FeedExpires$ The IWA schema for processing weather feeds enables improved debugging. Weather alert rule records are included in the Audit Trail. Installation changes Converted ImageMagick to.net framework. ImageMagick is no longer required. New in release 7.3 6

7 Maps System live map GPS coordinates of incoming alerts were added for auditing and easy reference. Layer visibility is now based on permissions. Mobile app Mobile App 3.0.x Support for mobile app versions 3.0.x is limited. Mobile App Mobile app release includes these improvements: Support for Android O Support for ios 11 Registration performance improvements Mobile App 3.5 Mobile app release 3.5 includes these improvements: Added support for Dynamics for Android and ios. Added an option to deliver silent alerts. A new device option was added to BlackBerry AtHoc which enables alerts to be sent silently to mobile devices regardless of the severity of the alert. Increased alert body length to 4000 characters. Updated the registration user interface. The option to "Use another address" was removed. Now, when you tap "Send another confirmation" you are returned to the initial registration screen. Mobile app release 3.5 does not support ios 8 or Android OS version 4.x. Performance improvements Page load times Page load time for the New Alert page was improved. For a large organization (with more than 500 targeted alerts) without device targeting, the load time has improved from seconds to about 14 seconds. Page load time of Sent Alerts page was improved. For a sent alert page with 5000 alerts, load time has improved from 2 minutes to about 17 seconds. Reporting The number of calls in the system needed to generate an alert report summary were reduced, decreasing the database CPU utilization and resource allocation by about 50%. New in release 7.3 7

8 Security fixes ImageMagick was converted to the standard.net library. Self Service Self Service multi-language support Users can select a language other than the organization language when accessing Self Service. This includes any product text but does not include alternative translations for user attributes or devices. The following languages are now supported in Self Service: English (US) English (UK) French (France) French (Canada) Spanish (Spain) Spanish (Mexico) Dutch (Netherlands) German (Germany) Italian (Italy) User data management improvements Users can no longer save a mandatory Org Hierarchy without a value. When selecting the organizational hierarchy for a user, if the attribute is set as Mandatory, the value must be something other than the root (/) selection. Group search and Org Hierarchy selections were updated to a tree-style. The selectors for Org Hierarchy, groups, and distribution lists folders were updated to a more user-friendly interface. New in release 7.3 8

9 Resolved issues The following issues were listed in past release notes as known issues and have been resolved in BlackBerry AtHoc Release 7.3. Description Notes MSI upgrade to CP1 does not complete unless an SDK user, AtHoc Administrator, and IWSAdmin users exist. In the User Manager, if you do an advanced search on an organizational hierarchy, all nodes below the highlighted node are selected. When creating an alert with a targeted mass device, an error message about empty custom text is displayed on the Review and Publish page when the Pre-recorded audio option is selected. No error message about empty custom text should display when the pre-recorded audio option is selected. Able to save an attribute that does not have any value even when the check box attribute is mandatory. Unable to publish results-based targeting (RBT) from an alert which has a targeted personal device and a mass device with the custom text option selected. When an incoming mobile alert is forwarded from the Inbox, the Type field value should be "Other" but is blank. On the Alert Rules page, when you scroll down to the bottom of the page and then go to a new page, the scroll bar remains on the bottom of the page. Logo on desktop pop-up is grainy. When accessing the BlackBerry AtHoc globe logo on a Mac desktop app (version 1.6), an "ASP.NET SPS Module" error displays The "Self Service My Device Info Updated On" attribute displayed in the User Activity section is not updated when device information is updated in Self Service. Select an image with a width of at least 80 px. Suggested image size is 80w x 72h. Select a GIF, JPG, or PNG type image. Resolved issues 9

10 Known Issues This section lists known issues in BlackBerry AtHoc releases. The following table describes issues that were first noted in version 7.3. Subsequent tables in this document list all other known issues, organized based on the product version that first exhibited the issue. 7.3 Alerts and Alert Templates Reports Delivery of alerts on a phone device using the TAS (AtHoc Cloud East) gateway trims the alert body. The Distribution List advanced report does not show users who were moved after the alert was sent and are no longer in the organization. Ensure that alerts sent to TAS have a combined character count of less than 3000 characters. The Distribution List advanced report is filtered to show current members of distribution lists. Refer to other reports to view all users who received an alert There are no known issues for release Alerts and Alert Templates After pressing the browser back button on the new template page, the user lands on last surfed page instead of on template manager page. Known Issues 10

11 6.1.8 Patch 90 Alerts and Alert Templates Reports When hitting the back button in the place holder pick list, a "Leaving this page will cause unsaved data to be lost" message is not displayed. When the Security Policy for session timeout is changed, the Activity log and Inbox pages (SignalR) behave inconsistently Patch 89 Alerts Users Import/Export Videos attached to mobile events do not play in the BlackBerry AtHoc management console Inbox when using Internet Explorer 11. An error is displayed when a user search is performed with the following special characters:! { } ^ User list: Searching for users having special characters fail and display an "Error occurred while loading list" message. Users exported from German Organization still have Username in English. Export Mass Device web page dialog is in English on German Organization. In Internet Explorer 11, select Developer Tools from the Tools menu. Click the Emulation tab and select 10 from the Document mode pulldown. Known Issues 11

12 Maps Other Migration from a release 88 to a release 90 template displays broken breadcrumb in Location Summary of the map. Duplicate organizations do not have the same failover URLs as the original. In the Schedule section, date time issue on set date and time radio button. Regression > User Attribute > 'Clear for all Users' button is not enabled under 'Bulk Update Values 'section in edit mode for Multi-select picklist, Singleselect picklist, Check box, Text, Number, Memo, Date, Date-Time, and Geo location. In FireFox, the Results Based Targeting pop-up is not displayed when the bar chart is clicked in Delivery Distribution by Devices (Chart.) Patch 88 Alerts and Alert Templates Import/Export Delivery of alerts on a phone device using the TAS (AtHoc Cloud East) gateway trims the alert body. Escalation using multi-select picklist should target each user as per attribute order. Export to PDF file border extends to next page in case of Fill count Alert. SDK: Targeting severity based default delivery template is not supported. Known Issues 12

13 Maps Users Other User Import: Duplicate records in the import file do not get overwritten when creating the users for the first time. The picklist attribute created from the shape layer does not add to the count of user attributes. [UAM] The dates specified in min/max range for a datetime attribute are not reflected correctly in Self Service for a VPS where the VPS time is different than the system time. Disclaimer text on login screen should not expose the JavaScript code when the disclaimer text contains combination of ' and " quotes. This is only a case if duplicates are spread throughout the file, as the file is split into many pieces Patch 87CP1 CHF3 Users Other Import Users: Importing users with status-disabled through a CSV file shows the same users as enabled on UI. Safari - Login page: On clicking Access Smart Card and dismissing the pop-up, the Login buttons are disabled. Use the following values for the Status column: VLD, DSB, DEL. The Distribution List advanced report is filtered to show current members of distribution lists. Refer to other reports to view all users who received an alert. Known Issues 13

14 Self Service: Session Expiration: Clicking Save after session expiration does not perform any action on Edit Profile. Operator Password Change page: Clicking on Update when session is timed out, does not show session timeout message on the login page Patch 87 CP1 Alerts and Alert Templates Users Import/Export Firefox - The counter jumps from 54 seconds to 1 min while replaying the recorded audio. Safari - Placeholders: On creating a new placeholder, the first placeholder in the list gets hidden. Scenario quick publish to all connected organizations: The Review and Publish page does not show newly connected organizations. After granting an operator the System Administrator role in System Setup, you can no longer edit permissions for that user in their base organization. After changing the display names for attributes 'Username' and 'Display Name,' the User list does not show the changed attribute names. EUM Search: Search shows invalid results when the searched text contains closing curly brace. The alert will still go to all connected Organizations. This issue does not occur when editing the alert first. Keep all System Administrators in System Setup, or create the user in the home organization before granting System Administrator permissions. Known Issues 14

15 Upgrade Other When importing, the default date/datetime value for each imported user is 01/01/ :00:00 when no value is assigned in the CSV file. Import does not support commas (,) in a device display name. Import does not support attribute names with the period (.). If you stop a user import, the import does not halt right away. It stops with the next batch. Importing users updates the profile with changes for the geo location point, but does not update the displayed location name. Shape file upload does not have correct error message. Import P2 and SDK- MappingID uniqueness is not enforced. Import P2 and SDK- Error not shown for invalid picklist values. 87CP1 MSI upgrade does not complete unless SDKUser, AtHocAdmin, and IWSAdmin users exist. Browse - Play does not work the first time the user uploads the audio if the file is not fully uploaded. Mobile App: For an operator with restricted Distribution Lists (DLs), the available DLs in the advanced features do not match the operator s restricted DLs. Time Zone in PID 3 System Settings is misleading or wrong. GET-DISTRIBUTION-LISTS does not work for Administrator. Multiple active sessions for desktop client leads to an incorrect record for "response ignored by the system." Known Issues 15

16 Slow performance of Home Page with 500,000 users - Usercounts. There have been many improvements on the Home Page, but performance might be slow for 500,000 users Patch 87 Home Page The Home Page mini map shows the last 10 alerts. The expanded view shows all live alerts. Recently received alerts map does not focus on the shapes for organization alerts. The organization Home Page should show the total number of users without devices on all member (sub) organizations. If a device is disabled on a member organization, those users with the device in their profile are included in the count. Home Page shows only the 10 most recent alerts. Alert Templates, Publishing, Inbox, Sent Alerts In Internet Explorer version 9, the placeholders always populate to the left of the content title and content body. The operator cannot move the placeholders to the proper position to effectively use them in an alert. The Sent Alert Details view does not show the selected details for the phone, including Options settings. Alert templates (scenarios) can be triggered by an incoming alert, even if the template is not ready for publishing. When targeting mass devices with key option and regular end points selection, the Review and Publish page appends a comma (,) to the end point display name. For example:,ati_pole Known Issues 16

17 Forwarding alert does not forward response options. The Review and Publishing process does not validate on Targeting section's readiness when publishing the Draft Alert. Draft Alert: Unable to save the overwritten default value of the placeholder. (Firefox) Alert/Scenario > Personal and Mass Devices options: Should not allow applying the custom text input with length validation error. Placeholders at Org level cannot have same name as Placeholders at level. The Currently Online user attribute does not show up in the exported CSV. Call bridge under response option accepts more than the maximum character limit. User Management and Roles Known Issues 17

18 User Attributes: When a shape layer name is modified, the SP creates a new user attribute instead of renaming the existing attribute. Work around is manually running the SP: 1. Log in to AtHoc and navigate to Settings > Map and Layers > Shape Layers. 2. Click the Add a Layer link. 3. Enter a layer name. For example: Cities 4. Click the Import Data link. 5. Import a shape layer file. 6. Select the Predefined Zones check box and save. 7. Log in to the database server and run the following stored procedure exec dbo.utl_create_attribute_from_layer < provider id>. Where <provider id> is the 6-digit identifier for the organization in which this attribute should be created. For example Return to AtHoc and navigate to Settings > User Attributes. 9. Verify that the attribute with the layer name is created (attribute should be of type multi-select picklist). 10.Check the values for the attribute.the values (and the number of values) should match the number of shapes added in the imported shape layer file. Import Users: Import stops on importing users with only username column. Advanced Operator Manager role: an Operator with just the System Admin role cannot view the details of existing operators; throws no authorization error. USR_SEARCH_CRITERIA does not support! as a parameter. End User Summary: Should not count mass device endpoints as enabled users. Creating attributes from shape layer does not throw error if a custom attribute already exists of type non mufti picklist. The.CSV file needs at least 2 columns, including Username. Grant Organization admin roles to the System Admin on System Setup (3). Before uploading shape layer administrators should ensure layer name uniqueness to avoid this issue. Known Issues 18

19 General SDK Devices On running the SP to create an attribute from a shape layer, the attribute's names are incorrect when more than one shape layer exists. Users - advanced search does not work for 'Deleted' users. The Date and Time are not shown correctly in User Tracking reports. Group search pills have OR operations between them. Other search pills (simple, advanced) use an AND operation. SDK alert: no warning or error when publishing alert to disabled device. SDK: Telephony extensions (like Stop Calling options or Require PIN/Validation) are not applied. Default values are used. CR Hide IAC users from Mass Device manager. Reports and Tracking Mass Devices > Customize: When moving columns, an extra pop-up is displayed. Mass Devices Manager does not handle the case if ID is not the first column in the list. Mass Devices manager: In a customized view with a <mass device> column, details for all devices are displayed. Clean MSI: Out-of-the-box devices (aside from MIR3) appear as enabled with an empty device metastore on VPS (3,5,6). If you add the Organization attribute to Report Column Layout, the detailed users view hides the attribute when you click the pie chart. Known Issues 19

20 Import/Export Upgrade Apps Mobile/ Other Import/Export: Import fails when the file has only a Username column or when only the Username column is selected to import. SDK import: Date time attribute values after import get converted as per the VPS timezone. After upgrade: Alert templates with Emergency/ Secure set up for phone before the upgrade, no longer have the Select if the alert has no response options checkbox selected. Organizational logo does not propagate to the mobile app if there are file space and size issues. Confusing message on login page when the base URL for the system is not valid. 87 MSI fresh Installation on WinServer2012: fails to load the CSS when accessing IWS behind load balancer. Device Common name mismatches on new IWS instance breaks cloud upgrades. Always import Date- Time values in the system time zone. Open the alert template settings and select the checkbox. Keep logo JPG files under 1 MB Patch 86 R3 User Manager and Roles Known Issues 20

21 Incoming Alerts and Inbox Settings Other After disabling a mass communication user for an organization, a new user is created with the same user name when the Connect synch job runs. My Activity: On session timeout, selecting an alert does not bring up the details or show session timeout message. If you select the Advanced filter link in the Inbox, and then select Pending Reply, incoming alerts that do not have response options can appear in the list. In Security Policy, deselecting Allow Multiple Concurrent Sessions does not work. Disabling the desktop device in VPS leads to hiding of all the desktop delivery templates. Organization names with scripts are executed in the Organizations list view. Do not disable a mass communication user that is created for an organization. If you would like to disconnect, use the Connect Agreement Manager option. Allow Multiple Concurrent Sessions has been removed from the Sessions Settings section. The Organization name is controlled by AtHoc centrally, and is manually checked for issues Patch 85 R3 Alerts Publishing Event log errors are displayed when recurring alert templates are published. Known Issues 21

22 General SDK While targeting users with geo attributes, a script error is displayed when selecting an imported shape layer on the map. Operator's session timeout doesn't get applied to SSA map. Daylight saving test; Recurring alerts start time and end time does not match with the daylight saving times. SDK: MetaStore parameter not reported by SDK. Situation Map SSA map: Zoom to fit doesn't work for shapes (IE and Firefox.) When clicking 'All' in Shape layers, objects from KML layer are not displayed on the map. Deleted shapes get exported while exporting shape layer. Deselect all shapes, check All. The map refreshes and KML objects are displayed Patch 85 Import/Export User Import: Does not validate format for devices while importing. Known Issues 22
