2 Background the Client Audatex is a global provider of claims solutions, delivering deeper intelligence into the ownership lifecycle via technology innovation. Audatex has earned recognition for providing intelligent software solutions enhancing efficiency of automobile claims processing, recycling workflows and collision repair. They are the only American provider that accesses all data points pertaining to the complete vehicle owner lifecycle including the Dealer, Appraiser, Insurer, Maintenance and Repairer. the Ask Audatex has two mission-critical systems for managing business operations aimed at catering to customers. Shop Back Room Application A web application for the management of body shop operations Claim Watch A web application providing a real-time view of the repair status of vehicles The client was embarking on an initiative to create a new environment and consequently wanted to confirm application usage remained unaffected in the new environment, ensuring business continuity in the process. Moreover, Audatex wanted to ensure the two applications performed optimally in the newly configured environment to promote seamless services to its customers. The client was looking to join hands with an expert to develop a performance testing strategy, analyze application performance, and acquire key metrics when the number of users increased.

3 Solution Quadrant 4 developed the strategy and positioned Apache JMeter as the tool to execute the performance testing. Leveraging extensive Apache JMeter experience, Quadrant 4 measured the performance of the two applications across different with the following approach. TESTING Created seventeen test scenarios using Apache JMeter to analyze application performance RESPONSE TIME Captured response time against varying types of concurrent users, overall response latency against elapsed time, and server hits per second, for 10 and 25 concurrent users PERFORMANCE Captured performance of two applications when load is increased Shop Back Room application featured Technology APACHE JMETER 2.11 A 100% pure Java application designed to load test client/server software (such as a web application). It may be used to test performance both on static and dynamic resources such as static files, Java Servlets, ASP. NET, PHP, CGI scripts, Java objects, databases, FTP servers, and more. JMeter can be used to simulate a heavy load on a server, network or object to test its strength or to analyze overall performance under different load types.

4 Results For user loads of 25 concurrent users, shop backroom application handled 470 requests per second. For user loads of 25 concurrent users, claim watch application handled 350 requests per second. The System went live in the new environment without any outage or interruption in service to the existing users. Our client was able to confirm and benchmark the performance characteristics of applications in the newly configured environment and benefited from enhanced scalability and capacity planning for future loads and user base.
