12 Some tips for internet creation Keep your design clean and simple 3-Click-Rule: (Users will stop using the site if they aren t able to find what they are looking for within 3 clicks) Users shouldn t feel like they are waiting for system response (eg: Put advertising during wait time) Lot of design help on:

13 Main steps for an Internet site Decide what to build on your site. Create a publishing site/subsites (use powershell script for site creation) Create a master page first.. (sample on Create Content Type(s), Page Layout(s) and custom field types if necessary Implement the Navigation (Use PortalSiteMapDataSource in SPD with the ASP.NET navigation provider control) Add/update the CSS file to fit your design Do not forget Browser use CSS in cascade You can hide the ribbon in CSS CSS Tools (Expression Web, SPD, VS2010, 3 rd party Web editors)
