1 CAA Alumni Chapters Websites - Admin Instructions Welcome to your new chapter website! You may locate your new website on the landing page for our Alumni Chapters Program which lives at alumni.berkeley.edu/community/alumni-chapters/join. IN THIS TUTORIAL 1. Login 2. Admin Home Page 3. Accessing Website Content 4. Editing Website Content 5. Saving Content (don t forget to hit save!) 6. Adding and Social Media Links (recommended) 7. Adding Subpages (optional) 8. Adding Chapter Leaders (optional) - Coming Soon 9. Adding Documents (optional) 10.Adding Promo Area (optional) 1. LOGIN Go to alumnichapters.berkeley.edu/user in your web browser Enter your address and password, then click Log in Note: The ALL CHAPTERS link on the right will take you to the Alumni Chapters Landing Page Note: The CAA Logo will take you to CAA s main website

2 2. ADMIN HOME PAGE Once logged in, you will have access to your landing page and additional chapter pages (aka subpages). 3. ACCESSING WEBSITE CONTENT You can access your website content in several ways. From the admin screen, click on Chapter Content at the top. You will be directed to a list of your pages like this:

3 4. EDITING WEBSITE CONTENT To make changes/edits to any of your pages, click on the name of the page in blue (e.g. landing page or any of your subpages) in the View column: Once you click on the name of a page, you will see the View version of that page as an admin:

4 From the View screen, click on the Edit tab to make edits: Alternatively, from the main page ( Chapter Content ), you can go directly to the edit tab by clicking on edit next to the name of the page (e.g. landing page or subpage): 5. SAVING CONTENT When finished editing, always save your changes before exiting or hitting your back button or any new content will be lost. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the green Save button.

5 6. ADDING AND SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS Click on your Chapter Landing Page, and click Edit. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Connect With in the toolbar. You ll see a field to insert your chapter s main address (required) and fields to insert various social media URLs (recommended). Every field with content will populate social media icons on your homepage. Those you leave blank will simply not appear on your website. 7. ADDING SUBPAGES Once you add subpages, they will be listed on your chapter s homepage in the More menu.

6 To add a Subpage go to the top black bar from anywhere when logged into the administrator backend and click on Add Content, then Chapter Subpage. The Title you set will populate in the More menu on your chapter's homepage (above). To add content to a subpage see instructions for 4. Editing Website Content. ** Please note: We are working on changing permission rights for your added subpages. In the meantime, please chapters@alumni.berkeley.edu and we will publish your added subpages for you. 8. ADDING CHAPTER LEADERS ( COMING SOON) In the future, you will be able to list all active chapter board members on your site if you choose. This feature is not currently functional ; we will update you with more information as soon as possible. ** For now, please refrain from clicking Add Content, then Chapter Leader. 9. ADDING DOCUMENTS Add documents to your homepage and subpages by clicking Chapter Content, then the page where you d like to upload documents. Click Edit and scroll to the File Attachments section. Scroll to Add a new file and click Upload. Files must be less than 25 MB. Allowed file types: txt pdf doc docx zip. Remember to save your work!

7 Files will populate as clickable links at the bottom of the page where they ve been added. 10. ADDING PROMO AREA The promo area on your website allows you to feature a particular event or service on your front page. Click on your Chapter Landing Page, and click Edit. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Promo Area (under Connect With ) in the toolbar. Add a Title, URL, Image and short Blurb to describe the event or service that you d like to promote. Note: Image files must be less than 25 MB. Allowed file types: png gif jpg jpeg.

8 The completed promo will be featured at the bottom of your front page. We ll continue to update this document to provide you with clear and simple instructions on how to update and edit your new chapter website. Good luck and Go Bears!
