5 Chapter1 WebFOCUS RStat New Features WebFOCUS RStat is a statistical modeling workbench embedded in a WebFOCUS desktop product, such as App Studio. It allows you to perform common statistical and data mining tasks, and develop models that can be deployed as scoring applications on every platform. RStat enables data miners and Business Intelligence developers to collaborate with the same tools used to access, manipulate, or transform data, develop predictive models, and create and deploy scoring applications along with associated reports to any worker within their organization. RStat 3.0 offers many reasons to upgrade your current installation, including new support for models, export options, user interface enhancements, and more. This topic describes the new features for WebFOCUS RStat Version 3.0. In this chapter: Export File User Interface Redesign Export SVM to PMML Java Export and UDF Template Generation New Help Menu for ARIMA and Bayesian Network Select FOCEXEC Files Export File User Interface Redesign In the Export File dialog box, correct file extensions for each export type are now added automatically. Some of the features include: Enabling export PMML files in choices of'.pmml' and '.xml' extension Allowing users to select All to export all available types Hiding C or Java options when they are not available for specific models WebFOCUS RStat Release Guide 5

7 1. WebFOCUS RStat New Features Export SVM to PMML The Support Vector Machine (SVM) model can now be exported as Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML), as shown in the following image. Java Export and UDF Template Generation You can now export the following model types to Java: Ada Boost Binomial Regression Decision Tree Gamma Regression Gaussian Regression Inverse Gaussian Regression Linear Regression Logistic Regression WebFOCUS RStat Release Guide 7

8 New Help Menu for ARIMA and Bayesian Network Multinomial Regression Negative Binomial Poisson Regression Random Forest RStat generates a User-Defined Function (UDF) with each model that is exported from RStat as Java. You can customize the UDF to enable the Java export to work on any device that supports Java. The Java export name and parameters are dynamically entered in the Java UDF template. New Help Menu for ARIMA and Bayesian Network Select FOCEXEC Files Help has been added for the ARIMA and Bayesian models. Click the Help menu and then click Model to display the Help. For more Help, you can access the Using WebFOCUS RStat for Predictive Analytics PDF and online Help in the WebFOCUS Information Center. You can now load data into RStat from a previously written procedure. You can find the new option on the Data tab, listed as a new Source, as shown in the following image. 8 Information Builders

9 1. WebFOCUS RStat New Features Once you have loaded the FEX, click Run to run the selected FEX and load the data. RStat runs the procedure from WebFOCUS, and the data is displayed, as with the other options. WebFOCUS RStat Release Guide 9

11 Chapter2 WebFOCUS RStat Release Notes This topic describes release considerations for RStat 3.0. In this chapter: Graphics Compilation Configuration Modeling Graphics Compilation The following is a known issue related to graphics in RStat 3.0: When saving plots in the FancyPlot, ARIMA, Kolmogorov-Smirnov GUI (KSGUI), Density Plot and Bayes Factor windows, click the Save Plot button, select Save As in the File menu of the R Graphics window and select the desired output file type. The.wmf file type has been replaced by.emf and is displayed as Metafile in the output options list. The.svg format is no longer supported and this option has been removed. The following is a known issue related to compilation in RStat 3.0: When missing values in a data set are imputed or substituted via the Transform option, Java export of the following models fail to compile: Inverse Gaussian Negative Binomial Gamma Regression To avoid Java compilation failure, prepare the data by imputing missing values in WebFOCUS App Studio before uploading it to RStat. 12 Configuration Configuration Modeling The following is a configuration improvement in RStat 3.0: To launch RStat, you no longer need to elevate App Studio to run as Administrator in order to call into RStat. Previously, you needed to elevate your run privileges to Administrator, in order in run earlier versions of RStat. The following is a known issue related to modeling in RStat 3.0: If you are modeling data in RStat and you click outside of RStat (when RStat is not maximized), part of the model interface continues to display. As a workaround, you can collapse the dropdown list or select a model before clicking outside of RStat. 12 Information Builders
