Typographical Conventions The following kinds of formatting in the text identify special information. Installation of SiteBuilder v for Windows requires the following software installed on your computer: Windows2003 Server Internet Information Services 6 MS SQL Server 2000 or higher; If your server does not meet the requirements above, you should either install them yourself (if you have the necessary permissions) or contact your provider and ask to install them. Hardware requirements. In order to install SiteBuilder v.0.5 the following hardware should be present: RAM 256mb 30 Mb HDD space for SiteBuilder installation (+ 1 Mb per User's web site) (minimal) CPU Celeron 1,7 Ethernet 10 Mb

7 7 C HAPTER 3 Installation The installation procedure of SiteBuilder v for Windows is a very simple one. Prior to installing SiteBuilder make sure that your computer answers technical requirements described in the System Requirements (see page 6) chapter of the current SiteBuilder Installation Guide. The steps of installing SiteBuilder v for Windows are described below: 1) Download SiteBuilder v installation package to your computer. 2) Access the folder, containing SiteBuilder v installation package, using Windows Explorer. 3) Double-click on SiteBuilder v installation package. This action initiates its installation process. 4) After reading SiteBuilder Installation Wizard welcome message, click Next. Figure 1: SiteBuilder Setup. Initiating Installation. 5) On the next step of Sitebuilder Installation Wizard you should select destination folder for SiteBuilder, i.e. folder that will contain installed version of SiteBuilder v Usually default folder is c:\program Files\SWsoft\SiteBuilder but you can select another folder by clicking Browse...

8 Installation 8 Also you can change different port for running SiteBuilder v By default it is port If you require to use another port click Change Port, enter new port number in the command line provided in the Port dialog box and click OK. After you have specified the path and port number click Next. To complete the installation, click Finish.

10 Installation 10 Initial Configuration Open the link (the name must correspond to the one you have specified in DNS settings) in a browser window. The initial configuration screen will be displayed: Figure 4: Initial Configuration Screen In the initial configuration screen, specify the following settings: Language - Select the language for the administrator interface. The list of available languages depends on the language packages included into the distribution package. DB type - This field displays the type of the database used for SiteBuilder's internal purposes. In this release, this is the MySQL database. DB name - Enter the name of the database. DB host - Specify the name of the host, i.e server where the database is stored. Typically, this is 'localhost'. If you use the database located on another server or you connect to the external database through a non-standard port (the standard port is 1433(TCP)), enter the address as 'host:port'. DB Administrator Name - Specify the name of the database administrator. The default name is 'root'. Change it if necessary. DB Administrator Password - Enter the password for the database administrator's account. Skin - Select the skin for the SiteBuilder interface. Path to temp folder - Specify the path to the temporary folder, which will be used to store SiteBuilder temporary files. Make sure that the temporary directory you specified is available for writing. The default path is /usr/local/sitebuilder/temp/. Path to the log folder - Specify the path to the log folder, which will be used to store SiteBuilder logs. Make sure that the temporary directory you specified is available for writing. The default path is /usr/local/sitebuilder/log/.

11 Installation 11 SiteBuilder repository path Specify the path to the SiteBuilder repository, which will store the templates and other service files for the SiteBuilder application. Once you have configured all the settings, click OK. The installation script will create and populate all necessary tables. After this, the installation program will create (or overwrite) /include/config.php file with new parameters. If the process of installation completed successfully you will see the login screen to the Sitebuilder administrator's panel. Getting Started Thus, you have installed the following SiteBuilder components: The administrator's panel, which is accessible at: On the login screen to the administrator's panel, enter the default administrator's login 'root' and the default password 'sitebuilder'. Please, change the default password on the Root Account page of the administrator's panel immediately after SiteBuilder installation. Trial site mode, which is available at: Regular site mode, which is available at: and A trial web site is a site with limited functionality. Trial sites cannot be published. They are created by users who use SiteBuilder for the first time. Trial site has a time-life of 30 days. After this period of time trial site is terminated. So it is highly recommended to make this trial site into regular web site during these 30 days. A regular web site is a site with a full functionality that can be published. The SiteBuilder administrator can assign trial sites the status of regular sites. The trial site mode brings you directly to the first wizard page. From this page, users can create their web sites for the first time. After they create a trial web site, the site files are saved in a temporary storage you have specified in the initial configuration screen. Each trial site is assigned a site identifier. These temporary sites become available at After the installation, you can add sites, configure the SiteBuilder settings and plans.
