It is recommended that you keep this manual handy for future reference. These safety instructions are to ensure the long life of your wireless gateway/receiver and to prevent fire and shock hazard. Please read them carefully and follow all warnings. 1.1 General Do not open the cover of the equipment since there are high-voltage components inside creating the risk of electric shock. Qualified Teq AV/IT service personnel, or authorized representatives must perform all service. Service performed by unauthorized personnel without prior approval will void the warranty. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer (responsible for compliance) will void the user s authority to operate the equipment. 1.2 Installation For best results, place the Wireless Gateway/Receiver on a flat, level surface in a dry area away from dust and moisture. Handle the Wireless Gateway/Receiver carefully. Dropping or jarring can damage internal components. Do not place heavy objects on top of the Wireless Gateway/Receiver. To prevent fire or shock, do not expose this unit to rain or excessive moisture. Do not place the Wireless Gateway/Receiver in direct sunlight, near heaters or heat radiating appliances, or near any liquid. Exposure to direct sunlight, smoke, or steam can harm internal components. To turn off the main power, be sure to remove the power cord from the power outlet. The power outlet socket should be installed as near to the equipment as possible and should be easily accessible. Make sure the outlet is properly grounded for safety as per local regulations. Do not pull the power cord or any cable that is attached to the Wireless Gateway/Receiver. If the Wireless Gateway/Receiver is not used for an extended period, disconnect the power cord from the outlet to avoid fire, shock, and loss of power. 1.3 Safety Guidelines for the Rack-Mounting of the Wireless Gateway/Receiver Never restrict the airflow through the equipments fan or vents. Normal operating ambient temperature is between degrees F. Connect the unit to a properly rated power circuit (110V / 220V). Reliable grounding should be maintained. 1.4 Cleaning Unplug the Wireless Gateway/Receiver power cord before cleaning. Clean surfaces with a dry cloth. Never use strong detergents or solvents, such as alcohol or thinner. Do not use a wet cloth or water to clean the unit. FCC / CE Notice This device complies with part 15 or the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. About the Product 2.1 Function The Wireless Presentation-Computing Gateway/Receiver is a wireless presentation system that connects Notebooks and desktop/towers with wireless capability to just about any projector or LCD/Plasma display for presenting high quality presentations. This plug and play unit has the ability to deliver real time computer screen at XGA to WXGA resolutions in 32-bit color on attached display. It is compatible with all kinds of operating systems including Windows Vista/XP/2000, Win CE 5.0 (and above), and Mac OS 10.4 (and above). It also provides a user friendly web-based administrating user interface for easy configuration and security setup. With its unique Plug-and- Show, 4-to-1 split screen for Collaboration mode, Conference Control mode WiD130 makes every of your presentation and meeting efficient and successful. Plug & Show With Plug & Show USB Token, wireless presentation becomes easy! Just link your PC/Laptop to WiD130 (through WLAN or wired network Ethernet), plug the token into a USB port, and in seconds, your screen will be wireless projected to the connected projector! There is no need to install drivers or download software or connect to the web like all other wireless video receiver manufacturer. Just use a USB memory drive (stick) to connect if it is not desirable to install the WPS application on client computer. Fast and Easy Application The connected computer s Wireless network card ( g NIC) or wired LAN connector is used to transmit video to WiD130 receiver. In order to transmit or send video from computer there needs to be a small application installed on the client computer. This small utility WPS is installed on client computer by directly downloading from WiD130 receiver under Windows operating system or use included utility for Mac OS. This WPS VideoPro utility is fast: 20 seconds to download and install. It is an application to be installed with any user privilege except guest. Unlike other manufacturers there is no need to install a conflicting driver or download software from web or install software taking 10+ minutes using CD too. Collaboration using 4-to-1 Split Screen Projection With this 4-to-1 split screen feature, up to four PC/Mac/PDA screens can be shown on display at same time to collaborate, side-by-side comparison, teach, compare and increase productivity. It is easy to switch from Collaboration to show full screen, just with a click without buing expensive video switchers or running complicated cables. PDA/Smartphone wireless Projection One does need to bring the laptop for business presentation anymore. Just connect your PDA or Smartphones with Windows Mobile 5.0 or above to WiD130 through WiFi, and show the screen full screen or as a part of 4-to-1 collaboration mode to any1 display. Conference control WiD130supports Conference Control function for easily moderating the conference. The conference moderator can control projection from connected PCs through a web-based control page. This function is specially useful in teaching environment in classroom at schools, colleges and universities. Installation 3.1 Hardware Mounting There are two ways to place the. The first way is horizontally on a surface, so it sits on its bottom panel. The second way is to mount it, using the included mounting kit. To wall mount the follow three simple steps: 1. Mount the bracket with the four included philips screws. Make sure the insertion holes are facing up, as shown in the above picture. 2. Remove the bottom or top two rubber feet from the bottom panel and insert the two included flat head screws. 3. Mount the by inserting the flat head screws into the wall mount bracket insertion holes. Teq AV/IT 4

Make sure your PC WLAN (Wireless or Wifi Network card) is enabled, and connect your PC with the available Wireless Network with SSID WPS or. Teq AV/IT 5

6 If you have more than one, be sure to assign different SSID s to each unit. See section 4.13 for instruction on changing your SSID. Connect your PC to the SSID of the you wish to control. Then open your internet browser (like Internet Explorer or Firefox) on any Windows based PC and browse the IP address to reach s home page. The default IP address of is , otherwise can be found on the lower left hand corner of the projector screen. For Windows operating system, click on Download Software, and execute the installation program. Make sure your personal firewall allows software to pass through and complete installation by following on screen instructions. Teq AV/IT 6

7 After install the program, WPS-VideoPro shortcut will show on the desktop. Use this to project the screen to attached display. For Mac OS, open AirPort icon and search for available Wireless Networks. Locate a network with SSID WPS or WiD130 and connect to it. For Mac Operating system use the software installation utility WiD130_WPS-Utility_for_MacOS_2008 _.dmg cannot be downloaded directly from WiD130, so it is provided on a USB-stick with the device. Check with your network or AV or Room administrator for that utility. If Mac OS utlity for WiD130 is not provided on USB-stick or network drive, contact Teq AV/IT at or support@teqavit.com Install Mac OS WiD130 utility on your Mac by double-clicking on WiD130_WPS-Utility_for_MacOS_2008 _.dmg file. Run that under Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) or 10.5 (Leopard) or higher and follow instructions on screen to install. To project the computer screen open application WPS or click on the icon. If you are unable to connect then Open DHCP settings in the AirPort setting (System Preference->Network->AirPort->Advanced->TCP/IP) Teq AV/IT 7

8 4. Operation 4.1 Client Utility After WiD130 s WPS-VideoPro utility is installed on Windows based PC or Mac OS based computers, follow below steps to get started. Double click WPS icon on your desktop to execute the program. The utility will search for automatically; if is found then the Login Code dialog box will be pop up on the PC screen. If not found it means WiD130 and the connecting client computer are on different network (LAN or VLAN)., it will display in the disconnected state and the Reconnect button will be shown for you to try again. Please make sure both WiD130 and connecting clients are on same network or VLAN. Searching for WPS box and when WPS () box is found and enter login code to start. When following WPS utility is seen on screen, press Play button in center to show full screen image. Press 1 through 4 to show in respective corner for Collaboration mode. Teq AV/IT 8

9 The default resolution for is 1024x768 so if connected computer s resolution is higher (up to 1600x1200) it will show following message to adjust computer screen size. Most instances Press Cancel so will scale or adjust itself rather than adjusting display settings of the connected computer. When more than one WPS box is found on your wired network, select IP address and click OK. If the computer is connected to different wireless device or if is not on same ip address range or subnet mask will fail to find WPS () box and show following message. Correct by connecting to network or putting on same network and then clicking the Reconnect button. 4.2 Login After the Login Code dialog box is shown, enter the login code to start presentation. You can see the login code shown at the top of the attached display screen. 4.3 Buttons and Descriptions After logging in successfully, you will see main User Interface of WPS application. 11 Open Video/Audio file for playback in Media mode Adjust Audio volume in Media mode Audio volume level bar for Media Mode Video time progress bar for Media mode While playing media (video/audio) the icon will be blinking Function menu to check status or go to Web utility for setup or Conference Control mode #.%$ /!%$ 4.4 Presentation mode # % When Play button or numbers are pressed around it, the desktop of computer will flicker momentarily and the screen will appear on remote screen. Whatever is present on primary screen of computer, will be seen on the remotely connected display. Then one can minimize WPS utility to continue working on other applications. To Pause or Stop presenting the screen to remote display locate WPS utility in toolbar and press Stop button once. 4.5 Media mode (Video-Audio playback) WiD130 allows to play certain video and audio files for full motion video at frames per second using provided WPS VideoPro utility. It supports video in MPG, MPEG, DAT, VOB, WMV9, ASF format and video in MP3 format. The audio is sent with accompanying video to WiD130 s Audio output stereo port through which one can connect powered speaker or amplifier. WiD130 does not transmit video played back through internet browser or any application like Windows Media Player, Quicktime, Real Player, Intervideo, Neroplayer for full motion video. Click to switch to Video Mode. Click to open the video file and select to play it. Teq AV/IT 11

12 * Supported Video Format: MPG, MPEG, DAT, VOB, WMV9, ASF, MP3, WAV. Then use Play button for Playback, Pause to freeze the screen and halt playback while Stop to end playing media file. Adjust the volume and monitor playback progress bar if needed. 4.6 Admin Web Page Click to open function menu and select Web Admin for the management web page. The web page detailed functions will be described later on in section 4. Teq AV/IT 12

13 4.7 Make PnS Token Click Make WPS Token to make a USB '0 Token, With this Token one can initiate any computer to present on attached WiD130 without installing the software utility. Please follow the steps with the wizard: Teq AV/IT 13

15 4.8 Magnifier Option Click Magnifier option to change the aspect ratio of captured video region with magnifier feature. This mode is only active if optional WPS-Magnifier utility is installed. 4.9 System Information Click Info to show system information. It includes product model name, IP address and other information. Teq AV/IT 15

16 4.10 WPS utility installation for PDA To project your PDA or Smartphone with Windows CE 5.0 or 6.0 operating system with WPS-VideoPro, please follow the steps: 1) Enable your WiFi and connect to WPS-VideoPro 2) Open the browser and enter Server IP address to download WPS ZoomPro client software for PDA version. 3) Install WPS-VideoPro client software. 4) Launch WPS-VideoPro software and enter the login code. 5) Start Projection. 6) Click to exit this program Mac OS Presentation Under Mac OS once WPS utility is installed, open up Airport (WIFi) utility to connect to WPS-VideoPro wireless or wired network. 17 1locate the WPS-VideoPro icon on desktop or open up program WPS-VideoPro from list of available programs. Double-click on icon or open program it to launch it. The application will find the WiD130 on same network as the connected Mac PC and present a screen to enter 4-digit code (if enabled) which could be found on the screen of connected display. 18 Once connected use Play to display connected Mac pc or notebook in full screen mode or press number 1-4 to show it on any of the corner for Collaboration mode. Press Pause to freeze the screen and do something else on connected Mac and Press Stop button to stop showing screen on display Web Management Make sure you are connected to the successfully. Open your web browser, the home page should be displayed automatically. If not, browse the s IP address as seen on the projector screen. The default IP address is Conference Control This function allows you to host a meeting smoothly without projector cable swapping with each participant able to show their presentation easily. Select Conference Control function. Enter password, the default value is trainer, and then press [Login]. Teq AV/IT 18

19 After login, you can see a User List on the screen which indicates all of users connected to. User List List of connecte d users to WiD121 will be shown here There are three columns, Computer Name, Play Control and IP Address. You can press Play Control button to control who is next presenter by Play button and Stop button. There are six buttons, including Play(Full screen), Play Top Left corner Split #1, Play Top Right corner Split #2, Play Bottom Left corner Split #3, Play Bottom Right corner Split #4 Stop Web Administration Click [Admin] and then enter password to login web page. 20 4.12 System Status Click [System Status], shows current system status. Versions: 1. Firmware version no.: Product firmware version number. 2. Software version no.: Windows client utility version number. Network Status: 1. IP addressip address of 2. MAC address. 3. Subnet Mask. 4. Default Gateway 5. Wireless MAC address 6. Wire MAC address Connection Status: 1. Projecting status: which is Waiting for projecting or Projecting 2. Total Users: It shows how many users are logged into Network Setup There are many kinds of operating configurations. Teq AV/IT 20

21 Default Configuration Network Setup The default setting of the is DHCP smart. When the is connected to a LAN that already has a DHCP server present, the gets an IP address assigned to it by the DHCP server. When the is connected to a LAN that does not have a DHCP server, the becomes the DHCP server on the network. IP Setup You can select obtain IP address automatically or Use the following IP address IP Address: The default value is Subnet Mask: The default value is Default Gateway: The default value is DHCP Server Setup You can select auto(enable/disable DHCP Server or Disable Start IP: The start IP address of DHCP Server. End IP: The end IP address of DHCP Server. Wireless Setup Region: default value is Worldwide. SSID: SSID string, max. Length is 32 bytes. Channel: to set fixed channel or Auto. The Auto means after powering on the, it will scan all of wireless channels and select the clearest channel automatically. WEP: you can Disable WEP or select one of 64bit or 128bit in ASCII or HEX string. Key: If WEP is enabled, you have to set key value according to WEP mode you selected. Gatekeeper Gatekeeper is designed for network security within. All Block: blocks Guest Users(through wireless) to access all office network(lan), All Allow: passes Guest Users(through wireless) to access all office network Internet Only: blocks Guest Users (through wireless) from office network (LAN) but still have internet connection capability. Apply: press button to select this mode Cancel: press button to abort action. Back: Back to Operating mode main menu Teq AV/IT 21

22 4.14 Projection Setup Click [Projection Setup] button Resolution: 1024x768 (XGA- Default), 1280x768 (WXGA) and 800x600 (SVGA) Color Depth: output with 16bit or 32 bit color depth. Screen Refresh Rate: This is VGA output refresh rate, provides 60 Hz and 75Hz to suit for different kinds of displays. Apply:Confirm and Save modifications Cancel: Cancel all the modifications 4.15 Change Passwords No password is required to download the WPS utility. Default password for admin utility is admin Default password for Conference Control mode is trainer However one can easily change through admin utility as follow Reset to Default Teq AV/IT 22

23 Click [Reset to Default] button to restore factory default settings. Apply: Confirmation and action. Another way to restore Factory Default Settings, Follow below procedures. 1. Power off the. 2. On the rear panel, press [Reset] button and Hold. 3. Turn on WPS box. 4. Wait for over 10 seconds and release the [Reset] button. 5. It will restore factory default settings. Warning: Do NOT upgrade firmware unless written instructions are sent by Teq AV/IT support staff Reboot System Click [Reboot System] button, to restart system Teq AV/IT 23

24 4.17 Logout (from Admin utility) 5. Troubleshooting Teq AV/IT is easy to operate, however if you are receiving error messages or connection problems please check here. Display Issues: A) Symptom: The quality of the image is not sharp. Checkpoint: If streaming wirelessly, check that the signal strength is Excellent or Good. This is verified by moving the cursor over the Wireless Network Connection icon in the lower right-hand corner of the system tray. a object or wall obstructing the radio waves. Checkpoint: If the displayed image appears to be cropped, change the resolution of the transmitting PC in order to avoid this. The display resolution can be changed/verified by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting properties. From the Settings tab the resolution can be changed/ verified. C) Symptom: The image or video displayed is slow. Checkpoint: The quality of transmission depends largely upon the transmitting PCs CPU performance. Avoid running multiple applications simultaneously while streaming to maximize the CPUs performance. If streaming wirelessly, check that the signal strength is Excellent or Good. This is verified by moving the cursor over the Wireless Network Connection icon in the lower right-hand corner of the system tray. The transfer rate may be slower in some operating environments depending on such factors as the location, radio signal conditions, and/or distances between transmitting PC and Wireless Receiver. WiD130 plays full motion video only using WPS-VideoPro utility s media mode or using Zoom utility. Connection Issues: H) Symptom: How do I change or verify the IP settings? Checkpoint: IP configuration is made through Windows or the Wireless Cards utility program. I) Symptom: Can the Command Prompt be used to check the IP configuration? Checkpoint: Yes, from the Start menu on your desktop, select Run. The Run dialog box appears. Type cmd. Next, click OK or press enter. A command prompt will appear. Type ipconfig and press enter. 25 The IP configuration should now be displayed. Also from the command prompt, the IP configuration reset. Type ipconfig /release and press enter to disconnect, then type ipconfig /renew and press enter to reconnect. J) WPS Application and Windows Firewall There are three types of firewall that could stop WPS application of WiD series from not playing video in Video Playback mode or computer screen in Presentation mode: Network equipment Firewall Windows Firewall Third-party software based firewall 1. Inbound: UDP 1047,1048,1049 TCP:1041 Outbound: TCP 443, 389, 3286, 8080, 21, Windows Firewall Please check the firewall in Control Panel->Windows Firewall If Firewall is OFF then there would not be problem in Video Playback. Third-party software Firewall If besides network (hardware) firewall and Windows firewall there is any software based third-party firewall like Zonealarm, Norton Systemworks, CA Internet Security Suite or McAfee Firewall, then please follow that software developer s documentation about allowing programs to safe list or adding exceptions to the firewall rules for WPS application. 6.
