2 Attention This document contains the system requirements for versions 5.8 & 5.9 of the iprova Suite. New developments may result in changing system requirements for iprova. 3 System requirements for the iprova server General Virtualization by means of VMWare vsphere of Microsoft HyperV The requirements listed below are per server, based on a dedicated web server and a dedicated database server. Both roles can also be combined on a single server; the minimal requirements then are: o Small organization: 2 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM o Medium sized organization: 2 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM o Large organization: 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM Database server 2 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM Windows Server 2008 SP2 /2008 R2 SP1 or Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016 SQL Server 2008 (SP3 or later) or SQL Server 2008 R2 (SP2 or later) SQL Server 2012 (SP2 or later) or SQL Server 2014 or SQL Server 2016 or SQL Server o Supported SQL Server editions: Workgroup, Standard, Enterprise. o (AlwaysOn) Failover Cluster and AlwaysOn Availability Groups are supported. Microsoft.NET Framework or later Application server 2 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM 1 GB free disk space for iprova program files Windows Server 2008 SP2 / 2008 R2 SP1 or Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016 Internet Information Service (IIS) Adobe PDF ifilter 9.0 (for full-text search through PDF files) Microsoft.NET Framework or later Microsoft Office 2010 or Office 2013 or Office 2016 (32- or 64-bits edition) (at least Word and Excel) The server cannot be a primary or secondary domain controller. Applying multiple web servers in a load balancing cluster is supported. Specific features of iprova require that outbound network traffic from the iprova server to the internet is allowed. If desired, outbound traffic may be limited to the specific addresses of the servers in the Infoland Cloud which will be used. Remarks Data storage on a separate file server/san is possible. At least 10 GB free disk space for data storage when starting; more storage may be necessary depending on the usage of iprova. Your organization is responsible for purchasing the required licenses for Windows Server, SQL Server and Microsoft Office. Your organization is responsible for the configuration of a proper backup and restore procedure. You can use the diagnostic tools available at support.infoland.nl/readyforiprova to perform a quick check if your current server(s) meet the system requirements for iprova. 3 Copyright 2018 Infoland

4 System requirements for client devices The iprova Suite is a web-based application, which can be accessed using a web browser on various devices and platforms, which are listed in the table below. Different system requirements apply per device type and platform. Detailed system requirements per device type are provided on the next pages. Device type Available iprova features 1 Windows PC Windows PC with MS Office and Internet Explorer, Edge, Chrome or Firefox All features of iprova are available. 2 OS X desktop Chromebook Apple PC with Safari Chromebook See type 1, with the following limitations: Editing documents in MS Word and MS Excel formats can be done in two ways: in the webbrowser via Office Online (Office 365 subscription required) or: in a compatible application, via manual download/upload. Editing of process flowcharts is not possible. Adding information to cases in itask via Outlook is not possible; this can only be done via the web interface. Designing print templates for use in idocument and iprocess is not possible. 3 Tablets Android tablets with Chrome ipad with Safari For certain tasks, Android & ios apps are available via Play Store & App Store. For other tasks, the webbrowser can be used as listed for type 2, with the following limitations: Certain application management features, which heavily rely on usage of the mouse for drag & drop, like designing forms in icheck and itask are not available on tablets. For devices of this type, certain features might be presented in a different manner or might be limited compared with devices of types and 1 and 2. 4 Smartphones Android smartphone iphone For certain tasks, Android & ios apps are available via Play Store & App Store. The iprova web application is designed for use on desktops and tablets. Using iprova on smartphones, which meet the system requirements mentioned for type 3, is possible, but is currently not advised or supported by Infoland. 4 Copyright 2018 Infoland

As an alternative, Office Online (requires an Office 365 subscription) can be used to edit documents in the webbrowser. Print templates can only be edited in the Word desktop app. Microsoft Excel The features listed below make use of integration with Microsoft Excel: Editing documents in Microsoft Excel format directly from idocument. In order to use these features, the following requirements apply: Microsoft Excel 2010, 2013 or 2016 (32- or 64-bit version) Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1, 4.0 or 4.5 (the Full Framework version) When installing MS Office, the feature.net Programmability support needs to be selected. As an alternative, Office Online (requires an Office 365 subscription) can be used to edit documents in the webbrowser. Infoland software to be installed on the client Type 2 - Apple Desktop You need to deploy the iprova 5 Office add-ins to all clients on which integration with MS Word, Excel, Visio and/or Outlook will be used. Infoland provides an MSI package for the deployment of the add-ins. 7 idocument editor In the idocument module, you can edit documents in HTML format inside the web browser. For this feature, idocument makes use of the Nimbudocs editor. Regarding the client, this editor only requires a supported web browser (see device type 1). However, the editor is divided in two parts: the part which runs inside the web browser (JavaScriptbased) and a back-end which is based on Java. By default, idocument makes use of an editor back-end hosted in the cloud by Infoland (located at The JavaScript part of the editor, which runs inside the browser, communicates directly with the back-end server. All clients on which the editor is used must therefore have internet access; they need to be able to connect with the back-end server in the cloud. The iprova aplication server does not need internet access for this scenario. The technical architecture of the editor is displayed in the diagram below: 7 Copyright 2018 Infoland

8 When your organization does not want to, or is not allowed to, make use of a cloud service for editing documents, we have an alternative solution. The alternative for the cloud service, is to run a copy of the Nimbudocs server inside the physical borders of your own organization. The technical architecture is then as shown in the diagram below: In this case, your organization needs to cater for a virtual machine In dit geval dient uw organisatie dus te zorgen voor een virtual machine (VMWare of Hyper-V) for the purpose of the editor.
