1 Introduction The Vector is the exciting new style of loyalty unit from Maxgaming. It is compatible with our existing loyalty and card products including EzyBreak, MyCash, Win Rewards and Elevate. The main benefit for venues, aside from the sleek updated unit, is the ability to play graphic advertisements and patron notices in bright, sharp colours. 1.1 WiFi Connectivity WiFi enables a user to transfer or download data without the need for cables/wired connections. For the purpose of uploading advertisements and notices to the Vectors each venue will have a minimum of 2 or more Asus or Cisco wireless access points supplied and installed by Maxgaming. For security purposes no 3rd party wireless devices will be permitted. For more information please refer to the section regarding Vector Advertising. 1.2 Vector Unit Overview The Vector stands to replace the aging Gemini Card Reader unit with a touchable LCD screen and audio visual scheduling software. The unit has been developed by a long standing trusted supplier, Queensland based company QTRON. The shape of the Vector unit is taller than the existing Gemini Units. Some EGMs are being shipped Vector Ready however this means older EGMs will need to have additional metalwork installed prior to a Vector being fitted Basic Vector Components The Vector Unit consists of: Card Reader ( same reader as used in Gemini Unit) 11cm (4.3 ) LCD Touchscreen capable of displaying in-venue advertising (see future use chapter for video and animation) SD Card for data storage Ethernet Port Ribbon Cable connector to interface to Fibre Optic loop Multicolour LED surrounding Card Reader Speakers 2
1.3 Vector Hardware - Front View (Basic) A blue LED surround denotes that the Card Ready is ready. 1.4 Card Reader Surround Light Surrounding the card reader are multi-coloured LEDs. These will guide the player as to where to insert their card to begin a gaming session. As the LED s are multi-coloured the Vector can notify the patron if the card has been inserted incorrectly. While awaiting a card the light will display as BLUE. A correct insertion of a player card will turn the surround GREEN. 3
An incorrect insertion or invalid card will display as a RED light. While the light is displaying RED the patron will not earn rewards points and/or a SIMPLAY DRAW DOWN will not occur. Yellow light means the unit is offline. 1.5 Player Buttons (non Elevate) Standard Vector settings for player buttons will default to the following five buttons; these buttons are configurable upon install and can be changed to suit individual venue requirements. Please note that the numbers shown below are for reference only. These buttons work the same as the red buttons that appear on a Gemini unit whether for patron or gaming attendant use. Upon request to Maxgaming, the Simplay Drawdown and EZYBREAK buttons (4 & 5) can be disabled so as not to appear on the touchscreen. Buttons 1, 2 and 3 cannot be disabled as they are used for Attendant purposes but button 3 can show as blank (remove the MyCash reference). 4
Please note that the touchscreen has a timeout feature that can be enabled. If the buttons have not been pressed for a time the vector will display the main advertisement only. When the screen is touched again or a card is inserted the buttons will appear. 1.6 Speakers Currently the speaker will not be used by the venue. In the future the speaker in the unit may allow for player interaction, play a sound when events are noticed, alerts and promotional messages. In turn, the earphone jack will allow the patron to insert standard ear or headphones to hear these messages. 5
2 Troubleshooting a Vector Unit There is little interaction between a Vector Unit and staff on site. However, if requested, a staff member is able to restart the Vector this will not affect the EGM or bring down the loop connected to the Vector. 2.1 Restarting a Vector Unit Inside the cashbox of the EGM the staff member may locate the DropBox Unit (see picture). It s the go-between the Vector Unit and the fibre-optic based loyalty communications loop. The Dropbox Unit is supplied with two Green LEDs to indicate power to both Vector and Dropbox Units. It also contains a Power Switch to control power to the Vector Unit. Power to the Vector Unit is controlled via the ON / OFF Switch. Switch the Vector unit off, ensuring the LED goes out. Once the LED is black, switch the power back on. Close the cashbox and return the machine to a playable state. The Vector will go through a boot process and should return to normal status. If not, a call will need to be logged with Bytecraft as per normal fault procedures. If the dropbox cannot be found, locate the power cable via a grey ribbed tape coming from the back of the vector unit. If the tape cable can be disconnected and reconnected this will restart the vector. Alternatively, the power box (AC black box) inside the gaming machine can restart a vector. 6
3 Vector Advertising Requirements The Vector has a rich graphic interface allowing premium multimedia content for in house advertising using Banner or Splash modes. Please note, Vectors running Elevate software WILL NOT RUN Banner Ads. 3.1 Banner Ads Banner ads sit at the top of the screen and change every 20 seconds while the EGM is being played. Below shows two types of banner ads (circled at the top of the touchscreen): Banner Ad Specification = 480x50 pixels in png or jpg format only. 3.2 Splash Ads The Splash adverts will appear 20 seconds after the EGM was last active and also change every 20 seconds. These wil cover the whole touchscreen. Splash Ad Specification = 480x272 pixels in png or jpg format only. 7
4 Vector Advertising Server (VAS or EleVAS) The advertising to be used on the vector needs to be uploaded to the Vector Server. This is a box that looks similar to a site controller or management pc; usually located close or next to the Site Controller. The purpose of the server is to hold the ads for transfer to the vector unit. 4.1 Uploading Ads to Vector Server Ads are uploaded via Google Chrome. Please note that Vectors running Elevate software WILL NOT RUN BANNER Ads. Before advertising can be loaded onto vectors the following must be completed: 1. Install Google Chrome - this must be installed on a PC that is owned by Maxgaming or can talk to the site controller (or VAS). This is the only way to load pictures to a vector. 2. Create a Folder on the Desktop called Vector Splash and Banner Ads (see appendix for details). 3. Use paint to resize the ad and place it in the Vector Splash and Banner Ads folder. Open Chrome and type the VAS IP address into the address field. The IP Address will be 10.x.xx.13x/banner.php. These steps will be made easier in the future by creating a shortcut on the desktop (see appendix for details). The following screen should appear (without the Pictures): Select either the Splash or Banner button and click CHOOSE FILE. Find where the file is saved and click OPEN. You will be returned to the Vector screen. Click UPLOAD BANNER IMAGE and the picture will appear on the screen. If an error appears recheck the type of file and size restrictions for banner and splash advertisements Adding Attributes Attributes can specify that an advertisement will only appear on a certain floor, bank or position. Select the specific image and click ADD AN ATTRIBUTE: Choose via the red tabs at the top of the box: ALL -The image will be displayed on All Vectors at the venue. Floor - The image will be displayed on the Vectors assigned to that Floor. Bank - The image will be displayed on the Vectors assigned to that Bank. Position - The image will be displayed on the Vector assigned to a particular Position within a venue. 8
It is recommended that most ads are added to ALL POSITIONS: Once the attribute is added, clicking on the picture will display the settings: As new Vectors are installed to the venue or swapped out they will be assigned the attributes assigned to that Floor, Bank and/or Position. 4.2 Remove an Ad Delete any attributes on an Ad that is to be removed from the Vectors units but is to be stored on the VAS. 4.3 Delete an Ad Click on the picture to be deleted and at the right click DELETE IMAGE. You will not be prompted at this point. 9
5 Elevate Elevate gives Vector card units a new look and feel with a unique solution that integrates all Maxgaming s card based products. It changes the advertising screen into a touchscreen and enables patron s to interact with the Vector unit. 5.1 EleVAS A dedicated server is installed as a companion to the existing VAS to assist in the new functionalities. For more information refer to the VAS chapter. 5.2 Elevate Screen This is a basic Elevate on Vector Home Screen: If a venue has some or all of Maxgaming s card based products the screen may look like this: The buttons for Elevate are called Tiles and the tiles can be configured by Maxgaming based on active components at site. The order of the tiles onscreen can t be changed but they can alternate between long tiles that fit to the height of the screen or short tiles as shown above. If a tile is not required it can be hidden Card Inserted Screen 10
5.3 Downloading Ads for Elevate The process for downloading advertising is identical to the vector directions. It must be noted that BANNER ADS are no longer in use once Elevate has been activated. 5.4 Feature Tiles The Drinks/Service/Food tiles are all linked (or will be) to the paging system. A tap of these tiles will alert staff via pagers if installed Points Balance A patron can check their points balance at any time by pressing the MyPoints tile. With the new functionalities of the Elevate system patrons can now see ALL point types and in real time; as points balances will adjust while the screen is open MyCash A simple touch of the MyCash tile opens a menu where patrons easily interact with the MyCash system. They can perform almost all tasks that were previously only available via Kiosk. Opening accounts, changing PINs, viewing balances, editing Draw Down values can now all be completed from the comfort of their gaming chair MyLimit The MyLimit tiles allow players to set daily limits on their total spend without needing to move to a kiosk. 11
5.4.4 Win Rewards Win Rewards uses the My Points and My Vouchers Tiles. For more information please refer to the Win Rewards User Guide Barrel Draw At any time a patron can see how many tickets they have in a draw, previous winners of draws and see a draw in live action animation. 12

This will display the Server properties: At the far right of the screen click on the three horizontal lines to display the Chrome menu: Click TOOLS then CREATE APPLICATION SHORTCUTS to display the following screen: At this point you can tick each box depending on your requirements at a minimum click the DESKTOP option. This will assist greatly when adding new or removing old advertisements. 15
7.2 Creating a Shortcut for Picture Folder The desktop is the main computer screen where folders and programs can be located. The following instructions are for Windows 7 operating system. Windows XP and 2000 shortcuts are created in a similar way. At the desktop, right click to display a pop up menu: Left click on NEW to show the side menu and left click on SHORTCUT. At this point you need to find the folder where you will be storing the Vector pictures to be downloaded for advertising. Click BROWSE: By expanding the tree structure you can locate the folder. Click OK and then NEXT. 16
In this screen you can personalise the title of the shortcut. The default name is the name of the folder: Click FINISH and the shortcut will appear on the desktop Advertising Specifications Banner Ad Specification = 480x50 pixels in png or jpg format only.
