3 Introduction This manual describes how to start up hand sets and configure corresponding extension number. Extension numbers VAKA with C10 supports up to 400 unique extension numbers ( ). VAKA's extension number is 99. It is advantageous to keep track of Gigaset base stations and hand sets in VAKA. Axema recommends that the first number corresponds to a stairwell or building, the second number to the floor number and the third number to the apartment. Multiple base stations If multiple base stations are installed they require a unique IP address. Configure one bass station and associated hand sets at a time. Document the installation in any system to differentiate the devices, for example: Setting Base 1 Base 2 Base Building/ Floor 1/0 1/1 1/ IP address Subnet Mask Standard gateway DNS server Registering a hand set 1. Supply power to the base station by PoE or traf. 2. Power up the hand set by holding the red phone button for two seconds. If the hand set does not power up, it requires charging. 3. Press the big middle button to enter the menu. 4. Select Settings - Registering - Register hand set - OK. Wait for the base station to show up. 5. 4 appears. The PIN is The hand set is now registered. Select the hand set language 1. Press the big middle button to enter the menu. 2. Select Settings - Language and scroll to the desired language, en with Select. IP address The base stations supplied from Axema is pre configures with the IP address To see the base stations IP address, press the blue button to call a hand set, in which the IP address is visible. If is displayed, no IP address has been registered and the base station has to be connected to a network with DHCP Make sure that the base station has been assigned an IP adress by calling a hand set again. Log in to the base station 1. Connect a computer to the base station using a network cable. The inlet is on the side of the base station 2. Enter the IP address of the base station in a web browser. The factory default is In the log in window, enter PIN and session language. The factory default PIN is The computer and base station has to be in the same sub net. 5 Change PIN 2. Select the Settings tab followed by Management - Miscellaneous. 3. Enter a New PIN, end by pressing Set. Change IP address 2. Select the Settings tab followed by Network - IP Configuration. 3. Enter the desired IP address, DNS must be entered. End by pressing Set. Add hand sets over the internet. 2. Select the Settings tab followed by Telephony - Connections, 3. Click on Edit on one of the six extensions to which the hand set should be configured to. 4. Enter the extension number in Connection Name or Number and Authentication Name. 5. Enter ax, followed by the extension number in Authentication password. For example, ax Click on Set to save. 7. 6 11. Save by clicking on Set. Sometimes a second click has to be made to save the last extension. The extension is saved when Status shows Registered. The extensions has to be entered in VAKA and each base station support up to six extensions. One extension can handle multiple hand sets. Register a name to an extension number 2. Select the Settings tab followed by Telephony - Number Assignment 3. Enter a name for the corresponding hand set. The name will be shown in the hand sets' displays. 4. Make sure incoming- and outgoing calls are only marked for corresponding extension number. Blocking internal calls 2. Select the Settings tab and then Telephony - Dialing Plans. 3. Check Active for all numbers that should be blocked from making internal calls. Configuring the C10 module 1. Log in to the VAKA software. 2. Select Settings - Intercom - Network & Connections. 3. Activate Allow the use of a local SIP server. 4. Click on Save. 6 (8) Manual N510 and C620H

7 5. From the VAKA main menu, select Users and select an organization group. 6. Enter the extension number in the phone number field. The organization group can be called from the name list in compatible readers or with B followed by the quick dial number or extension number. Factory reset Method 1 2. Select the Settings tab followed by Management - Reboot and Reset. Method 2 1. Disconnect power to the base station and remove the network cable. 2. Hold the blue button and supply power. 3. Hold the button until it starts flashing 4. Connect the base station to a DHCP server to assign it an IP address. Before you call technical support In order for the hand set to display that an incoming call is from the VAKA intercom, its number has to be added in the phone book. The factory default number is 99.
