Access Point WDS Configuration Device 1 Once you have logged back in, go to Network > Wireless > Click the edit button on the 5Ghz radio In order to obey the legal requirements for your wireless radio, you will need to set the country code to the country the radio will be operating witin. In the UK, all radios operate under the control of Ofcom. Radio use in the 2.4 & 5GHz bands are deemed to be Licence Exempt with the exception of BAND C. Band C (5.725 to 5.825GHz) requires registration with Ofcom under a light licensing scheme. While this band is still effectively licence exempt, Ofcom wants to keep a register of all FWA links and charges a small fee. Any user wishing to set up an outdoor link for FWA needs to apply to Ofcom for a site license; the licence is not hard to obtain and is only 50 which includes registration of up to 50 terminals. For every terminal beyond 50 you should add 1 to the cost of your licence. Band B offers channels between 5500 to 5700 with a max 30dB output, however note that some channels have longer wait times due to the weather radar. These channels are 5600 to 5640 and are best left unselected. Band C offers channels between 5745 and 5805 with a max 36dB output, however note that there is a license to use this within the UK of 50 per annum for up to 50 devices and 1 per device thereafter. Further information on the legal implications of Band C usage can be found on the Ofcom website. Access Point WDS Configuration Device 1 3

The Access Point Status page will show you any associated stations (we should have at least 2) along with the Signal, TX rate and RX Rate. Ideally, we want to see a signal between -30 to -60 with TX/RX rates of 300 The Station Status page will show you the same information but uses a graph instead. As above, we want to see a signal between -30 to -60 with TX/RX rates of 300 on both Station ends. Finished Your link should now be configured. This document is only meant as a guide and there are settings you should change once you have the link up and running. Check your link 12
