1 May 1, 2009 Page 1 of 2 Customer Suite Version Customer Suite v replaces v SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION The Suite automatically installs all (E-CAT) programs using a single installation file. This is an alternative to downloading and installing individual E-CAT programs one by one. The May 1, 2009 Electronic Catalog Suite release automatically installs the following programs: X-Builder Framework v1.03p Packaged RTU Builder v1.19h AHUBuilder v5.99a Self-Contained Units Builder v2.09d Air Terminal Builder v1.09a Separate Sales Coil Selection v1.06 Applied RTU Builder v1.59+ Unit Ventilator Builder v1.10 Commercial Split Systems Builder v1.09g Water Source Heat Pump Builder v4.19j Fan Coil Builder v3.29e Programs marked with the symbol have been updated since the April 3, 2009 release. INSTALLATION PROCEDURES Installation via Internet Download Download the ecat-cec exe file from the Internet site and save it in a folder on your hard disk. Note that the download file size is approximately 190 MB. A fast internet connection is necessary to efficiently download this file. Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the ecat-cec exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions that appear on your screen. Note AutoDesk Volo View Express must also be installed for certain E-CAT programs to function correctly. AutoDesk Volo View Express can be downloaded from the internet site. Installation via E-CAT CD Insert the E-CAT CD-ROM in your CD drive. Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the cdsetup.exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions that appear on your screen. Note AutoDesk Volo View Express must also be installed for certain E-CAT programs to function correctly. AutoDesk Volo View Express can be downloaded from the Carrier internet site. Running the Program Use the following procedure to run the program: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT/E20-II programs. In the Carrier E-CAT/E20-II Programs group click v1.03p. From Electronic Catalog you can run all other E-CAT programs. Minimum Computer Requirements: Hard Disk Space: Up to 556 megabytes when installing software for the first time. The hard disk space requirement is much smaller when updating existing versions of the software. Random Access Memory: At least 128 megabytes (256 megabytes recommended). Display Monitor: At least VGA with 600x800 resolution and 256 colors. Operating System: Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows NT (with service pack 4 or later). Autodesk Volo View Express

2 May 1, 2009 Page 2 of 2 Customer Suite Version INSTALLATION PROCEDURES (continued) Note: Certain E-CAT programs require you to install the current version of Autodesk Volo View Express programs. This program can be downloaded from the E-CAT download table on the internet site. Volo View Express (copyright Autodesk, Inc.) is freely distributed by Autodesk, Inc. as its drawing viewer. Any redistribution of Volo View Express must be in compliance with the Software License Agreement that is displayed during the Volo View Express installation. PREVIOUS VERSION INFORMATION If your computer contains the prior versions of the Carrier E-CAT programs, the E-CAT Suite will automatically replace the prior version when installed. As a result it is not necessary for you to uninstall the prior version before installing the E-CAT Suite. Exceptions only exist for a major version change or a new program and in that case the prior version can be uninstalled before or after installing the E-CAT Suite. In the May 1, 2009 E-CAT Suite there are no exceptions. There are no major version changes in this release. NOTES 1. s. Release sheets for individual Electronic Catalog programs are found in the "E-CAT Product Selection Programs" down load table on the internet site. These sheets describe new program features. 2. Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat Reader v4.05 or later is required to view certified drawings in certain E-CAT programs. If Acrobat Reader is not yet installed on your computer, the latest version can be downloaded from and then installed.

4 May, 2009 Page 1 of 1 X Builder Framework v1.03p X Builder Framework v1.03p replaces v1.03o PROGRAM DESCRIPTION X Builder Framework is the underlying software which serves as the framework tying all Electronic Catalog and E20-II programs together. It can also be used as a central launch portal for all Electronic Catalog software. The software appears as "" on the Start/Programs Menu. X Builder Framework v1.03p includes two changes that are relevant to Carrier sales offices only. INSTALLATION PROCEDURES Installation via Internet Download To perform a full program install, please use the following procedure: Download the ecat-xbf103p.exe file from the internet site and save it in a folder on your hard disk. Close any other programs running on your desktop computer. Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the ecat-xbf103p.exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions, which appear on your screen. After installation you may be asked to reboot. Running the Program Use the following procedure to run the program: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT/E20-II programs. In the Carrier E-CAT/E20-II Programs group click on the v1.03p icon. Minimum Computer Requirements: Hard Disk Space: 30 megabytes. Random Access Memory: 128 megabytes minimum, 256 megabytes recommended. Display Monitor: At least VGA with 600x800 resolution and 256 colors. Operating System: Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows NT (with service pack 4 or later) PREVIOUS VERSION INFORMATION 1. X Builder Framework includes prior versions of E-CAT/E20 Configuration Services. 2. Projects and Tags created with E-CAT/E20-II Configuration Services will continue to work as normal within their specific selection programs. Additionally, all projects created with 32-bit version of E-CAT programs will be available in the Project Tool within X Builder. SPECIAL NOTES 1. Adobe Acrobat, AutoDesk VoloView. Certain X Builder Framework components depend on Adobe Acrobat Reader and Autodesk Voloview drawing viewer. These components are included in the CD installs, but may need to be downloaded and installed separately if you are installing from the internet and your computer does not yet contain this software.

Removed the Racan 39R indoor and outdoor units which are no longer available through AHUBuilder. Added optional factory installed and wired UV-C lights for 39M size extended length cooling coil sections. Added 39L double wall option. Added Electric Heat calculator for 39MW outdoor units. Added Electric Heat performance data to the Performance Report. Modified humidifier calculations to allow selection by steam load (lbs/hr). Added fan motor high heat warning on the Performance and Unit Reports. Modified the default to 1.00" in. wg. minimum static pressure control for VAV fan calculation. In addition, the following problems were corrected: Aerofin coil calculations did not properly account for site altitude. 39L Steam coil performance corrected. Dual-duty coils could show incorrect airflow in performance reports. Performance corrected for 5/8" stacked water coils and 1/2" stacked steam coils. Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the ecat-sd3599a.exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions that appear on your screen. Note that X Builder Framework and AutoDesk Volo View Express must also be installed for AHUBuilder to function correctly. Both can be downloaded from the internet site. Running the Program: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT and E20-II programs. Then choose Individual Product Builders. Finally click on the AHUBuilder v5.99a item. Minimum Computer Requirements: Hard Disk Space: 30 megabytes (for program and submittal drawing managers) Random Access Memory: At least 32 megabytes Display Monitor: At least VGA with 600x800 resolution and 256 colors. Operating System: Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows NT (with service pack 4 or later). E-CAT/E20-II Configuration Services v2.1 Autodesk Volo View Express Note: X-Builder Framework and Autodesk Volo View Express programs should be installed prior to installing and running AHU Builder. Both can be downloaded from the internet site. Volo View Express (copyright Autodesk, Inc.) is freely distributed by Autodesk, Inc., as its drawing viewer. Any redistribution of Volo View Express must be in compliance with the Software License Agreement which is displayed during the Volo View Express installation.

7 April, 2009 Page 2 of 2 AHUBuilder v5.99a PREVIOUS VERSION INFORMATION 1. Project data from AHUBuilder 5.90 through 5.98 is immediately available in version 5.99a. No conversion is required. 2. Project data from AHUBuilder 5.80 through 5.82 can be imported into v5.99a, via the Convert from prior version item on the AHUBuilder File menu. SPECIAL NOTES 1. XBuilder The latest version of X Builder Framework should be installed before installing AHU Builder. 2. AutoDesk VoloView Express must be installed in order to view DXF template drawings in the program. 3. Windows 2000 Users. When running the program on a computer using Windows 2000, on which Adobe Acrobat Reader has not been installed, the program will be unable to display AIRManager wiring diagrams but may not issue any error message. The solution to this problem is to download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader from and then install it.

Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the ecat-rtu159+.exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions that appear on your screen. Note that the current version of X Builder Framework and AutoDesk Volo View Express should be installed for Applied RTU Builder to function correctly. Both can be downloaded from the internet site. Running the Program Use the following procedure to run the program: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT/E20-II programs. X-Builder Framework (current version) and Autodesk Volo View Express Note: X Builder Framework and Autodesk Volo View Express programs should be installed before installing or running this program. Both can be downloaded from the internet site. Volo View Express (copyright Autodesk, Inc.) is freely distributed by Autodesk, Inc. as its drawing viewer. Any redistribution of Volo View Express must be in compliance with the Software License Agreement that is displayed during the Volo View Express installation. PREVIOUS VERSION INFORMATION When Applied RTU Builder v1.59+ is installed it will overwrite v1.59~ automatically. It is not necessary to uninstall v1.59+ before to installing v1.59~. Data created with Applied RTU Builder v1.59+ can be used in v1.59~. No data conversion procedures are required. SPECIAL NOTES 1. XBuilder The latest version of X Builder Framework should be installed before installing Packaged RTU Builder. 2. AutoDesk VoloView Express must be installed in order to view DXF template drawings in the program.

11 April, 2009 Page 1 of 2 Air Terminal Builder v1.09a Air Terminal Builder v1.09a replaces v1.09 UPDATE DESCRIPTION Air Terminal Builder v1.09a includes the following changes: Modified airflow limits for 35N dual duct units. 35N units in existing projects should be validated by opening each tag. Added new 'Steriwall with ½ Dual Density Liner' lining type for 35N dual duct units. Revised the design criteria item "Cooling Load" to read "Primary Air Load" for 36S/T/R Induction units to better describe the data being requested. Added the "EZ Sell" option for 36 Series Induction units. In addition, the following problems were corrected: For 37H Moduline units, the export pallets accessory was incorrectly offered for Quick Ship. For 45X air terminals, a zero primary airflow was incorrectly allowed. Note that the current X Builder Framework should be installed prior to installing Air Terminal Builder. It can be downloaded from the internet site. Running the Program can be used to launch Air Terminal Builder. To start Electronic Catalog: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT and E20-II programs. In the Carrier E-CAT and E20-II Programs group choose the item. From Electronic Catalog you can create new or edit existing tags via the Project tab, or you can directly launch the program via the Programs tab. Minimum Computer Requirements: Hard Disk Space: Up to 37 megabytes Random Access Memory: At least 64 megabytes Display Monitor: At least VGA with 600x800 resolution and 256 colors. Operating System: Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows NT (with service pack 4 or later). The current XBuilder Framework should be installed prior to installing the Air Terminal Builder. Autodesk Volo View Express Please note that Air Terminal Builder requires that you download and install the current X Builder Framework and the AutoDesk VoloView Express programs. Both of these can be downloaded from the E-CAT download table on the internet site. VoloView Express (copyright Autodesk, Inc.) is freely distributed by AutoDesk Inc., as its drawing viewer. Any redistribution of VoloView Express must be in compliance with the Software License Agreement which is displayed during the VoloView Express installation.

Therefore, it is not necessary to uninstall v1.09 before installing v1.09a. 2. Existing Air Terminal Builder v1.09 projects are available immediately. No data conversion is required. SPECIAL NOTES 1. X-Builder Framework. The current version of XBuilder Framework should be installed before installing Air Terminal Builder. 2. Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat Reader v4.05 or later is required to view certified drawings. If this software has not yet been installed on your computer, download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader from and install it. 3. VoloView. VoloView v or later is required to view CAD templates from within Commercial Split Systems Builder. If this software has not yet been installed on your computer, you can do so by running Windows Explorer, navigating to the \VOLO_NEW folder on the E-CAT CD and then double-clicking on the VVE2SETUP.EXE file. Note that if you do not intend to view templates within Commercial Split Systems Builder, this software is not needed. Many users display template drawings using a CAD system such as AutoCAD instead.

14 January, 2009 Page 1 of 2 Commercial Split Systems Builder v1.09g Commercial Split Systems Builder v1.09g replaces v1.09f UPDATE DESCRIPTION Commercial Split Systems Builder v1.09g includes the following changes: Added the ability to perform selections for tags generated by the Carrier E20-II HAP and Block Load programs. These two programs are used to design HVAC systems. Both programs can "publish" equipment sizing requirements which appear as "unselected" tags in the project tree. Double-clicking on an "unselected" tag launches the Product Wizard and initiates equipment selection based on the calculated sizing requirements. This feature makes it simpler to select equipment as it eliminates the need to manually enter sizing requirements. The obsolete Outdoor 24ABR residential model was removed from the builder. In addition, the following problem was corrected: When any Factory Installed Option (FIOP) was selected, an Accessory winter start kit was added to the list of selected accessories. A winter start kit is only required for the Motor Master FIOP. Therefore the program was incorrectly adding a winter start kit for all other FIOPs. Electrical FLA, MCA and MOCP (where applicable) has been added to the Performance Report for the high static motor selections. Updated the guide specification for the 42B product. In addition, the following problem was corrected: The program incorrectly reported the electrical data for a standard motor when a high static motor was selected. The high static motors electrical data has been added and will correctly be reported in the performance report. Add the HumdiMizer option to 48/50TC (Sizes 04-07) Modified configuration rules so low ambient kit accessory (of any kind) cannot be specified if the HumidiMiZer option is already selected. This model line includes the 50AHAC Air-Cooled Self-Contained units and the 50AHWC Water-Cooled units in sizes from 2 to 8 tons. Please note that performance data, certified drawings, guide specifications, weights and dimensions are not yet available for these units, and will be included in a later version when available. From Electronic Catalog you can create new or edit existing tags via the Project tab, or you can directly launch the program via the Programs tab. Data created with v2.09c is immediately usable in SCU Builder v2.09d. There is no data conversion required. However, to make all your tags valid in v2.09d, highlight the Project name in the Projects tree and then click on the button Update and Recalculate all Tags. SPECIAL NOTES 1. X Builder. The lastest version of XBuilder Framework should be installed before installing SCU Builder. 2. Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat Reader v4.05 or later is required to view certified drawings. INSTALLATION PROCEDURES Installation via Internet Download If one of the Separate Sales Coil Selection version v1.00 thru v1.05 is installed on your computer, you can save time by installing a patch update. This is the first procedure below. Otherwise, a full program installation is required. This is the second procedure below. To perform a patch install, please use the following procedure: Download the ecatp-ncs106.exe file from the Internet site and save it in a folder on your hard disk. Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the ecatp-ncs106.exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions that appear on your screen. To perform a full install, please use the following procedure: Download the ecat-ncs106.exe file from the Internet site and save it in a folder on your hard disk. UPDATE DESCRIPTION Unit Ventilator Builder v1.10 includes the following changes: Revised the procedure for selecting accessories. The layout of the Accessory tab has been changed to match the standard format used in other Builders for selecting accessories. Note that although the presentation of this information is different than in 1.08, the accessories that are offered have not changed. Added the ability to perform selections for tags generated by the Carrier E20-II HAP and Block Load programs. These two programs are used to design HVAC systems. Both programs can "publish" equipment sizing requirements which appear as "unselected" tags in the project tree. Double-clicking on an "unselected" tag launches the Product Wizard and initiates equipment selection based on the calculated sizing requirements. This feature makes it simpler to select equipment as it eliminates the need to manually enter sizing requirements. IMPORTANT: This release represents a major version update. Active project tags stored with prior versions of Unit Ventilator Builder will need to be converted to be used in v1.10. The procedure for doing this is outlined in the Previous Version Information section on page 2 of this release sheet. Autodesk Volo View Express Please note that Unit Ventilator Builder requires that you download and install the current X Builder Framework and the AutoDesk VoloView Express programs. Both of these can be downloaded from the E-CAT download table on the internet site. VoloView Express (copyright Autodesk, Inc.) is freely distributed by AutoDesk Inc., as its drawing viewer. Any redistribution of VoloView Express must be in compliance with the Software License Agreement which is displayed during the VoloView Express installation.

Tags in existing projects created with prior versions of Unit Ventilator Builder can be used in v1.10, however tags in these projects must be converted before they can be used with v1.10. To convert the tags, use the following steps: Start Unit Ventilator Builder v1.10. Choose the "Convert Project" item on the File Menu. A window will appear listing all current projects that contain Unit Ventilator Builder v1.0 tags. Select all projects whose tags you wish to convert. Then press OK. Tags in the selected projects will be converted. When you are returned to the program main window, the tags are ready for use with v1.10. The conversion process has been tested with versions 1.06 through Conversion of prior version tags is not guaranteed, but the more recent the tag, the better its chance of successful conversion. If you encounter problems with an earlier tag, you can first run RTUBuilder v1.08 and open the tag to bring it up to v1.08, and then convert it to v1.10 using the process above. 2. Uninstalling Unit Ventilator Builder v1.08. Unit Ventilator Builder v1.10 will not replace v1.08 automatically. Unit Ventilator Builder v1.08 must be uninstalled separately by using the following procedure: Do not uninstall v1.08 until you finish converting v1.08 data to v1.10 format (see item #1 above). Then, from the Windows desktop press Start and choose Settings. On the Settings Menu choose Control Panel. In the Control Panel double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon. In the Add/Remove Programs dialog which appears highlight Unit Ventilator Builder v1.08 in the program list and then press the Add/Remove button. Then follow the directions which appear on the screen. SPECIAL NOTES 1. X-Builder Framework. The current version of XBuilder Framework should be installed before installing Unit Ventilator Builder. 2. Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat Reader v4.05 or later is required to view certified drawings. If this software has not yet been installed on your computer, download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader from and install it. 3. VoloView. VoloView v or later is required to view template drawings from within Commercial Split Systems Builder. If this software has not yet been installed on your computer, you can do so by running Windows Explorer, navigating to the \VOLO_NEW folder on the E-CAT CD and then double-clicking on the VVE2SETUP.EXE file. Note that if you do not intend to view templates within Commercial Split Systems Builder, this software is not needed. Many users display template drawings using a CAD system such as AutoCAD instead.

Click on the System Settings toolbar button while a prior WSHP Builder v4.1x project is open and change the Altitude by one foot, then click the Finish button to convert all the Tags in the project.
