The software application uses a secure login process, requiring a user name and password that supports role-based access. Users are assigned to groups, each with certain access rights, which may include the ability to edit and add data or may limit access to data. When a user adds or modifies data within the database, a record is made that includes which data were changed, the user ID, and the date and time the changes were made. This establishes an audit trail that can be examined by authorized system administrators. 5 INTRODUCTION This document provides the software and hardware requirements for ARIA Connect. ARIA Connect is a product for exchange of data between Varian's software and 3 rd party systems using the HL7 protocol (commonly referred to as an HL7 interface engine or software). ARIA Connect is Varian's replacement for IEM and while both products are still supported at this time including being able to be deployed on the same server if desired customers are strongly encouraged to transition to the ARIA Connect product as support for their type(s) of HL7 interface(s) is added.

6 ARIA CONNECT SPECIFICATIONS Currently ARIA Connect supports the interface types as listed in the specifications below. ARIA Connect and IEM can be deployed on the same server as desired when sufficient resources are provided. The following are the technical specifications for supporting ARIA Connect. 7 Recommendations to fine tune Hardware Specification depending on installed interfaces The table hereunder describe the observed interface performance with ARIA Connect running on a server having the recommended HW specifications. All interfaces are running in parallel and each message is processed in sequential order from receipt to response.
