4 Initial Setting Setup your Windows 10 ITE2 NAS need to install in Windows 10 system to start, so we need to set up the Windows 10 system in the ITE2 NAS first. Please connect your ITE2 NAS with monitor, keyboard, and mouse to start setup. First, Windows 10 will ask you to select your language, region, keyboard layout, and other settings. Click [Accept the Microsoft License Agreement], and the system will set up the network automatically. 3

5 In the account settings page, click left-down corner [Domain join Instead] icon and create a local administrator account. *This step is to create a local administrator account, not join the domain. Then, create your user password and click [Next] to confirm the password again and add a hint to the password. *You MUST setup the administrator password or ITE2 NAS program cannot use that account. 4

6 Then, set up your privacy settings for your NAS and the system will run the initial settings automatically. When the installation complete, you should see the Windows 10 desktop. (NOTE: You can choose privacy settings for your specific needs, it will not affect ITE2 NAS program.) 5

7 Install your PDM Power Data Manager (PDM) is a web-based interface provided by ITE2 NAS. For the first time installation or update, it all need to download PDM installation program and install, then PDM can be used by users. Program Installation/ Update Please visit the website: and choose [Download PDM Setup Program] to download the installation program. After finish downloading, click the installation program icon. You can see the Setup Wizard, click [Next] to start to install or update the program. 6

8 Go to [End-User License Agreement] page, check the box [I accept the terms in the License Agreement], and Click [Next]. Choose Setup Type, select [Typical], and click [Next], then click [Install] to start the program installation. 7

9 After completed, click [Finish] to exit the Setup Wizard. After setup process completed, please restart your NAS. 8

10 Initial Login After restart process complete, please open any browser, and enter [localhost] or [ ] in search column. You should see the Initial login page, please select the Windows 10 local administrator account as the system administrator account and enter the password, then click [next]. *If your Windows 10 local account did not create a password, please refer to Create your local account password in Win 10). 9

11 HDD formatting setting After login, the system will guide you to the page for HDD formatting setting. There are two modes of your choice: Quick mode and Custom mode. Quick mode In Quick mode, PDM will provide you different solutions like high performance, high safety, both performance, and safety or single drive solution based on how many hard drives do you have. (Different options available according to how many hard drives do you have). You can choose one of the solutions that you prefer. Click [Format] after choosing, and hard drive will start formatting. 10

If there s only one hard drive, then there will be only [Single-drive] option). When the initialization setting complete, click [Start Now] to start using our PDM system. Custom mode In custom mode, you can choose any available hard drive to set up your initial space/raid mode/partition capacity. The system will give you solutions that depend on the hard drive you choose. Click [Format] after choosing, and hard drive should start formatting. 11

RAID solution 1 Drive Can be used directly, no RAID solution 2 Drives RAID 0, RAID 1 3 Drives RAID 0, RAID 5 4 Drives RAID 0, RAID 5, RAID 10 When the initialization setting complete, click [Start Now] to start using our PDM system. 12

14 Connect to your NAS within the LAN Find the IP address of your NAS First, you need to connect your computer and ITE2 NAS into the same local area network. If you want to manage NAS files, you need to obtain NAS IP address first. There are two methods to get your NAS IP address. After you get the IP address, enter the IP into the LAN computer s browser search column, then you should connect to PDM interface directly. If you want to connect to NAS from an external network, please refer to Access your NAS from the external network. (1) From Windows 10 system: Using the monitor to connect your NAS and log in to the Windows 10 system on your NAS. Go to [Settings> Network & Internet> Ethernet], choose the connected Ethernet, and you should see your IP address of your NAS. (2) From mobile APP: You can use a mobile APP Powercloud, to find the IP address of your NAS in the local area network. 13

15 Getting started Power Data Manager (PDM) Login to PDM For the first time, please open your browser and Enter the IP address of your NAS, then you will see the login page, enter the user account/password to log in. 14

16 Power Data Manager Interface After login, you can see the homepage (the feature icons may change in a different account): Settings: You can set up and manage your system, user, HDD, Network, and so on. 2. File Management: You can manage your files, group files and public files on this page. 3. Micro Blog: You can review and post messages on the micro blog, you can also see the message on the login page. 4. ITE2 Tools: Shows more APPs for the ITE2 NAS. 5. System Control panel: You can change the language, restart/turn off the NAS, and log out. 15

17 File Management You can upload, download, delete, move and share your NAS files in file management page. Please click [File Management] icon on the homepage to access the file management page. Main Space There are four spaces in ITE2 NAS: Public, Home, Backup and Group space. Each space has their different permissions: Space Name Public Home Backup Group Permission All NAS users can access the data in this space. Every local user has their home space; other users cannot access. Space used by the NAS backup function. The user only can access files in this space via PDM or ITE2 APP. The user in the same group can access their group folders in this space. Share Folder Share Folder can create by other NAS partition, and share folder can also set up user access permission; for the operating method, please refer to HDD Management for more information. 16

18 Manage your files 1. Folder List: Review all the folders in this space. 2. Share Link Management: Manage all the file share links that user already created. 3. Upload Task Management: Manage uploading task status. 4. Toolbar: Including create folder, delete files, upload file and upload folder function. 5. Files Explorer: Review all the files in this space/folder. Right-click menu provide download, copy, cut, paste, rename, delete, and share link features. 6. Search bar: Enter a keyword to search the files/documents in this space/folder. 7. Sort by: Sort files by file type, modified date, file size, or file name in ascending or descending order. 8. Display Number: Assign each page s display number of files in File Management. NOTE: User can upload local file/folder to file management by drag and drop method. 17

19 Access your NAS from the external network. If you want to access your NAS files from outside or from an external network, you have to setup DDNS first; then you can use ITE2 NAS mobile APP [PowerCloud] or any of internet browser to access your NAS files. DDNS Settings This function can help your NAS by adding an independent website address so that you can connect to your NAS by this address through the external network. A NAS can have 3 sets of DDNS at most. Click [Settings> Network Management> DDNS Settings] to the DDNS page, then click [Create DDNS] and enter your DDNS name and your . After entering, check [I agree to the ITE2 NAS terms and Privacy Policy] and click [Next] to finish your DDNS settings. After finish settings, you can modify the mail, DDNS name, or DDNS IP address you already set up at any time, or even delete that DDNS setting. 18

20 NOTE #1:Due to ISP will update dynamic IP irregularly (about 7 days), so if you are using DDNS Service, your ITE2 NAS will check/update dynamic IP per 30 minutes. NOTE #2:If your network environment has a router; you need to go to the port forwarding in router setting page and open 80 and 443 port on the NAS IP address. For more information, please refer to DDNS settings. 19

21 Share your ITE2 NAS files with your friends ITE2 NAS can add an account in multi-ways, you can add an account by your own or let your friends using social media account to register. Furthermore, you can create a group that your friends/family/co-workers can share their files. User Management You can create, delete, edit and setting permission to each Local Users and Social Users on this page Create User: You can create a user for the person you share with, such as family, friends, and co-workers. Click [Create User] and create the username and password. Click [Next] and add this user to the groups(optional). Then, click [Finish] to complete the user creation. 20

22 STEP 1. Enter Username and password STEP 2. Select Groups (skip) STEP 3. Check Info STEP 4. Done! 2. Delete selected user: You can select the user you want to delete and click [Delete selected users]. (*When you deleted that user, the home space data of that user will also be deleted). 21

23 3. User list: Review/Edit all the users and users permissions in this NAS. Permissions settings: Define the permissions of each user. You can check user permission settings. The following image is the permission settings list. Delete user: If you want to delete a user, you can click button directly, and it should pop up a message window, click [OK] to confirm the deletion. (*When you deleted that user, the home space data of that user will also be deleted) Edit user: If you want to change the user password and groups, you can click button to go to the [EditUser] to revise the content. 22

24 Group Management The administrator user can create a group and add accounts to the same group, in this group, users can access group space files easily. For group management settings, please go to [Settings> User Management> Group Management] Create Group: Create groups and classify users into each group, such as family group, friend group, colleague group, and so on. Click [Create Group] to go to the create page. Enter the group name and check [share this group folder on my network places] (optional), then click [next]. 23

25 Then, add user to this group and set up group permission, click [Next] to confirm all the group information and group members are all correct. Click [Finish] to complete the group creation. 2. Delete selected group: You can select the group you want to delete and click [Delete selected group]. (*When you deleted that group, the space data of that group will also be deleted) 3. Groups list: Review/Edit all the groups and group members. Delete Group: If you want to delete groups, you can click button directly and click [OK] to confirm the deletion. (*When you deleted that group, the space data of that group will also be deleted). Edit Group: Press button, then you can add/remove group member, or turn on/off [Share this Group Folder on My Network Places]. 24

26 Quota Setting Drives tabs: Switch to different partition quota setting page. 2. Apply to the selected user: Select multi-user and enter the quota, click [Apply] to set up selected user s quota. 3. Users quota info: Review and setup all each users quota in this partition. Click [Click here to set] then you can set up each user s maximum quota. 25

27 Social Management ITE2 NAS can let your social friends use your NAS by their social account. When you want to use this function, the administrator user has to complete [Personalization Settings] Account binding process to let your social friends able to use your NAS. List screening When your friends want to use your NAS, you can go to [Setting> Social Management> list screening] to allow your friends. After allowing, your social friends can also use the social icon to log in to your NAS. Click here to allow or refuse 26

28 Approved list management In this page, you can manage social friends permissions and set their social account to the local account. At first, social friends that allow viewing NAS files only have public space s permission. If you want to revise permission for social user or turn the social user into a local account, you can adjust in [Social Management> Approved list management> Social Account Settings]. When social account turns into a local account, you can manage the account user s NAS permission settings in [User Management> Social User]. 27

29 Personalization Settings You can use the personalization settings to binding your social account (e.g., Facebook, Google+), you can also to permit your Facebook, Google+ friends to log in to your NAS and sharing files. ITE2 NAS provides exclusive social account integration services. Let administrator user can allow social friends log in to NAS by setup personalization settings function. Click [Settings> Personalization Settings] to get into account binding page. (NOTE: you need to completed DDNS settings before using this feature). Account Binding In account binding page, you can click or icon to bind your ITE2 NAS account. After your social account is bound to the local account, you can see a social icon on the login page. After that, you can click the social icon to log in to the NAS more easily. If your social network friends want to use your NAS, they can also click the social icon to apply for your NAS reading and save permission. 28

30 Use ITE2 NAS to share files. When you want to share files with other people who do not have NAS, you can use the share link method to share your NAS files. Create a share link The user can right-click on the selected file in file management, and you can see [Create Share Link]. Click this option, and it should pop up a share link window, click [Create Share Link] icon then the files will be turned into a link and able to share with the external user. If you do not want to share this link anymore, you can click the original file and right-click to select [Create Share Link] then click [Remove Share Link] button to stop sharing. Alternatively, you can find the file in share link management and directly click button. 29

31 Share Link Management The user can manage their share links in [Share link management]. The administrator user can manage all the share links on NAS, and the regular user can only manage their share links. 30

32 Manage Uploading Files When user upload files to NAS, right down corner should show a [Upload Task Processing] status. The user can also click [Check Upload Task Progress] icon to review the task uploading progress. 31

33 Check Upload Task Progress 1. Status Column: User can see the [Finished Task], [Waiting Task], [Uploading Task] and [Failed Task] information. If there s a failed task, you can click [Reupload Failed Tasks] icon to re-upload tasks. 2. Clear All Finished Tasks: Click this icon can clear all the finished tasks in the task list. 3. Stop Uploading: User can click this icon to stop uploading task. If the user wants to resume uploading, the user can click [Resume Uploading] icon, after click [Resume Uploading], the upload task should continue from the previously stopped task. 4. Task List: Display all the uploading files. (Including already finished tasks and wait to upload tasks) 5. Task Progress: Display current uploading file progress information. The percentage represent [File Transfer Progress]; size/total file size]; icon represent [Current transfer speed]. 32 icon represent [Transferred file

34 Video Caption Setting Power Data Manager support SRT caption. As long as the user put video and caption file into the same folder and both video and caption file have the same file name. Play the video file; it should automatically read in the caption file. (NOTE: Caption should save in Unicode code to avoid garbled). In that case, when the video is playing, the caption will be embedding also. If the user wants to turn off the caption, press the right down corner [C.C] icon to turn on/ turn off caption. 33

35 Micro Blog [Micro Blog] can be used as a share/post platform. Even the non-login user can also see the information posted by ITE2 NAS user. You can create a post by editing in micro blog s title and message. Create Micro Blog Go to [Micro Blog] then click [Create], enter the post title and the message you want to post in the pop-up window, press [OK] icon and you can add a micro blog successfully. When you are adding a micro blog, you can also create a micro blog with more content by the following functions; please see the introductions on the next page. 34

36 1. Add images: Click photo icon to add your images to your micro blog. You can press [Ctrl] and select multiple images. 2. Add TXT files: You can directly put your TXT files from your local computer into the micro blog. 3. Switch to HTML mode: Click icon then you can use HTML code to edit your Micro Blog, after editing, press the icon again and you can preview your result. 35

37 Click [OK] after finishing your post. Then you can see your post on the Micro Blog. Hover the Micro Blog preview area, and the magnifying glass icon will appear in the blue area, click it, and you can review the full content of that micro blog. 36

38 Edit Micro Blog Click the icon on the micro blog right down corner and select [Edit]. Then you can edit the micro blog. You can revise content, then press the [OK] icon and the editing process will be successful. Delete Micro Blog Click the icon on the micro blog right down corner and select [Delete]. It should pop up a hint window for you to confirm the deletion. Click [OK] then your micro blog post should be deleted. (NOTE: Administrator has the permission to edit or delete all the micro blogs posted from all users in NAS.) 37

39 Share File to Micro Blog When we are reviewing files in file management, we can share the file directly to the micro blog. All you have to do is to right-click the file you want to share and select [Share to Micro Blog] icon, enter the post content and click [OK]. Then your file should be share to micro blog successfully. 38

40 Settings Click [Settings] on the homepage to go to the settings page System Management: Review about ITE2 NAS, system version, system backup, and control panel in this NAS. 2. User Management: Manage all the users, groups, and social user and quota setting in this NAS. 3. HDD Management: Review HDD information, space management, and folder management in this NAS. 4. 41 System Management About ITE2 NAS You can check your ITE2 NAS Information about Server Name, Model, Serial Number, CPU, Memory, and Developer information. System Version The system automatically scans for the latest version. You can also manual click [Version check] to check current version. 40

42 System Backup To avoid any system data loss, you can click [create a System Image backup] at any time to back up your critical system data to another drive. It usually takes about 30 minutes for the system to back up all the data. You can switch to another page during backup, and it will not be an effect. Control Panel You can set up the NAS system related settings, including allowing the search engine to display web content, enable remote desktop and enable HTTPS. 41

43 HDD Management Review hard drive information, space management, and folder management in this NAS. HDD Information Review hard drive Model, Serial Number, Capacity, and hard drive status for each hard drive in this NAS. Space Management You can create/ delete/ format the space/partition in this NAS

44 1. Create Space: If you have another hard drive that hasn t used, you can use [Create Space] to create a new space. After creating process complete, you can switch to new space page by switch tab. 2. Rescan Hardware Device: Rescan all hardware devices and storage space status. 3. Delete space: Delete the space that has been created. *If you delete the system main space, the system will return to the initial status. 43

45 4. Format: Format all the data and partitions in this space. 5. Create Partition: Use remainder storage to create a partition in this space. 44

46 Folder Management You can create a folder based on a different partition, and setup folder user s permission. Add users Confirm Info. After finish, if you want to edit/delete Share Folder, you can click / icon to access. 45

47 Add hot spare If ITE2 NAS user encounter single hard drive damage (system status: unsafe or abnormal) under RAID 1 type. They can rebuild data by [Add hot spare] method. First, you have to replace the damaged hard drive with a new one. For how to replace the hard drive, please refer to Replace the hard drive in ITE2 NAS part. Once you replace the hard drive, please click [Add hot spare]. Then, select the new hard drive you want to add hot spare, and press [OK]. 46

48 You can see the system status display [Rebuild]. If you did not see the updated status, press [Rescan Hardware Devices] to update the newest status. After finish rebuilding, you can see the status has updated to [Good], and the information about the damaged hard drive was removed. 47

49 Expand space size What can ITE2 NAS user do if they run out of storage space? Under the RAID 1 type, we can use [Add hot spare] method to replace the original hard drive with a larger one. Please refer to the following direction. In the RAID 1 type, take a hard drive out and press [Rescan Hardware Devices] You can see the status has become [Unsafe]. Replace a new hard drive (4TB hard drive in this demo) and click [Add hot spare]. Select new hard drive and press [OK], and the process begins. 48

50 Then you can see the system status display [Rebuild] It means that the system is syncing all the original hard drive s data to the new hard drive. If you did not see the updated status, press [Rescan Hardware Devices] to update the newest status. Wait until the system rebuild finish (rebuilding time may vary on different capacity). System status will update [Good], then replace another hard drive with the same method. 49

51 After you finish another hard drive and finish the rebuilding process, you can see the system status is [Good], but the system capacity did not update. So we have to click [Rescan Hardware Devices]. After rescanning process done, if the status updates to [Initializing], it means the system is upgrading the capacity. If you have done the rescan and the status did not change; you can restart NAS to activate the process. 50

52 When the initializing process finished, restart NAS, and you can see the capacity has upgraded to the newest information. If you want to upgrade the partition capacity, you can hover to select the [Increase partition capacity]. (NOTE: [Increase partition capacity] can only expand the latest partition, the other partitions cannot expand). 51

53 Network management You can set up IP, Wi-Fi, and DDNS setting in this NAS. IP Settings If you want to set up IP address for NAS, click [OK] to start IP Settings. If you choose [Manual input IP address] to create your static IP address, then you can set up your internal IP address for NAS. 52

54 Wi-Fi settings You can set up the wireless network settings on this page. This function would not be available if your ITE2 NAS did not install a wireless network card. Wi-Fi connection You can connect your NAS to the Wi-Fi internet. Click [Search network] and choose your Wi-Fi hotspot, select the network and enter the password, click [OK]. Then you can connect to the internet. 53

55 Power Box Use ITE2 NAS applications, like FTP and mobile website. FTP FTP is a standard protocol for file transfer on the internet. By FTP, the user can send out multiple and large files to their client-side easily. To start using the FTP function, please press [Install] icon. (Please note that if your system already installed the FTP function, you do not need this step). After installation completed, please select [Create Site] icon in [FTP Site Management] page. 54

56 After the site building process completed, we can set up the FTP sharing mode first. There is two mode option: [Sharing Specified Path] and [Sharing User Home Space]. 1. Sharing Specified Path: In this mode, you can assign one of the folders in public space as FTP share folder. After setup process completed, you can review the FTP path under the icon. 55

57 2. Sharing User Home Space: In this mode, each user will have a specific FTP sharing folder owned by themselves. The folder path is [Home Space > FTP]. Then, you can set up [User Rules] and [IP Rules] to allow which NAS users or IP can access the FTP path. First, please delete rules for allowing [All Users], click [Delete Rules]. Confirm deletion then click [Add Rules]. 56

58 In [User Rules], we can set up user s read/write permission. In this demo, we set up user [Annie] can access FTP path but only have read permission. In [IP Rules], we can set up assign IP [Allow] or [Deny] for their access permission to FTP path. Click [Add Rules], set IP XX.XX as [Deny], click [OK] to confirm. 57

59 Then you can see IP XX.XX has been added to FTP deny list. 58

60 Mobile Website A mobile website is a function that can help the user quickly create a company or person s mobile website directly on ITE2 NAS. To use this function, the user needs to assign a set of DDNS; we suggest you go to DDNS Settings page to start setting up more than 2 sets of DDNS. In [Mobile Website Management] page, please click [Download Installation File] to download the related packages for a mobile website. After installation file download process completed, click [Mobile Website Settings]. The first step is to set up a mobile website intranet link. If the user does not have any particular assign, the user can directly use system default settings. After the settings process completed, please click [Next]. 59

61 Then the user needs to set up your mobile website extranet link. You can use NAS DDNS or enter another domain name you have manually. After finished settings, please click [OK]. (Please note that if the user wants to assign DDNS to the mobile website when the user only has one set of DDNS, then the user can only log in to PDM interface through IP address. In order not to affect user browsing PDM interface from an external network, we suggested that user should create more than 2 sets of DDNS.) 60

62 After finish the mobile website initial settings, the user can start to set up mobile website related settings. Please refer to the following introduction. 1. Check Version: Check mobile website version update. 2. Turn/Stop: When the mobile website established, the default is [Turn]. If you want to disable the website, you can switch to [Stop]. 3. Management: Manage website content in mobile website background. For detailed editing method, please refer to the video introduction. 4. Delete Site: Delete all the mobile website content and settings. 5. Mobile Website Intranet Address: Click the link, and the user can preview mobile website content under the internal network. 6. Create Domain Name: Create mobile website extranet address by DDNS or manually enter the domain name. 7. Mobile Website Extranet Address: Click the link, and the user can preview mobile website content under an external network. 8. Delete Domain Name: Delete the domain name correspond to the mobile website. Click [OK] then it should delete the domain name. 61

63 FAQ Create your local account password in Win 10 Due to the PDM initial setting has to enter a password for the administrator s local account. If you did not create a password for your local administrator account, you could click [Windows> Account icon> Change account settings] to get into the settings page, select [Sign-in options] and click [Add] in the password section, then you can create a password for your local account. 62

64 Replace the hard drive in ITE2 NAS When the hard drive damage, we can see the status became [Unsafe]. Please follow these steps to replace your hard drive. Switch to [HDD management> HDD information] and check the damaged hard drive, open the NE-201 directly to replace the hard drive. If the damage hard drive is the first one, please replace the hard drive on the left. If not, please replace the right one. 63

65 Reset ITE2 NE-201 If you need to reset the whole NE-201, there will be separated into two major steps. Reset Windows 10 and reinstall PDM software. Reset Windows 10 Please go to NE-201 Windows 10 OS, click [Windows> Settings]. Enter Windows settings page, select [Update and Security]. Select [Recovery] function, then click [Get started] to reset this pc. 64

66 Enter into the reset this PC page; Windows will step by step ask you to choose some removing option; There is two option available, [Keep my files] and [Remove everything]. Please follow the following options to choose from. Choose [Keep my files] Select [Keep my files] will remove apps and settings, but keeps your personal files in C drive, like images and video files. Then the system should list out the apps that will be removed, please click [next]. 65

67 In the end, Windows should ask you to confirm all the resetting information. Please confirm all the information correct, then click [Reset]. Choose [Remove everything] In this option, select [Remove everything] should remove all of your files, apps, and settings. Then select [No] to remove provisioning packages that let your PC use workplace resources. 66

Click [Yes, add it] to start the installation program; this program takes 5-10 minutes. Please click RAID, then click [Manage> Delete volume]. Please confirm to delete this volume, click [Yes] to start the delete process. *This step completely delete all the volume data, if you have any important data, please do the backup first. 73

76 Appendix Use ITE2-NAS as a Network Drive in Windows OS As a file sharing center in the company or at home, you can map a network drive to your ITE2-NAS storage for windows clients. Please set up in [File Explore> This PC] and click [Map Network Drive> Map Network Drive]. Select an available drive letter from the list. Enter your ITE2-NAS IP address in the [Folder] field and click [Browse]. 75

After you complete the authentication, you can select the folder that you want to connect and click [Finish] and back to the setting page. Click [Finish] again. 78 Use ITE2-NAS as a Network Drive in Mac OS Open [Finder] and click [Go> Connect to Server] to start the setting process. Enter [smb://ite2 NAS IP address or DDNS address] and click [Connect] icon. It should pop up a message window, click [Connect] to continue the process. 77
