4 Description and Installation of the Application 1 Description and Installation of the Application 1.1 Description A requirement of regulatory agencies (e.g. FDA) is to designate copies as such. Using the Report Manager for creating batch logs allows to recreate batch logs upon request at any time (to generate copies). The application uses SIMATIC IT COM interfaces to distinguish between the first creation of a batch log (original) and copies. 1.2 Installation requirements Microsoft.NET Framework version 2.0 The application has been implemented with the Visual Basic programming language in.net Framework version 2.0. SIMATIC IT Historian FAT Client V6.3 SP1 HF1 The application needs at least SIMATIC IT Historian FAT Client (Version 6.3 SP1 HF1) on the computer on which it shall be executed. Configuring the user for the audit trails When creating batch logs, audit trail data records are generated and entered in the Compliance Service database. This requires a logon to the SIMATIC IT Plant Performance Analyzer server. The user must have at least the following SIMATIC IT resource: access to operating system shell V /18

6 Description and Installation of the Application 1.3 Installation of the application To install the application, proceed as follows: Configuring the batch log in MS SQL To be able to simulate the batch data, you have to create two tables in the SQL database. In the first table (ChargenList), the following general parameters can be entered. This is done in the ChargenTags table to be created. V /18

7 Description and Installation of the Application Figure 1-3 Assigning the measuring points to the batches Installing SIMATIC IT Report Manager V6.3 SP HFC2 The COM interface of the SIMATIC IT Report Manager consists of one client DLL (SimITRepMgrReqLib.dll) and one server DLL (SimITRepMgrReqServer.exe). These DLLs have to be installed and registered on the corresponding computers. This requires the following installations: SIMATIC IT Report Manager Client V6.3 SP1 HFC2 (on the client computer) SIMATIC IT Report Manager Server V6.3 SP1 HFC2 (on the server computer) Note Further information for installing the SIMATIC Report Manager is available in the document RMInstall.pdf that is located in the installation folder SIT\RM\DOC\Documents\Pdf. 8 Description and Installation of the Application It is required that the user who wants to transmit the print job for a batch log to the SIMATIC IT Report Manager with the aid of this application is defined as a user in the SIMATIC IT Report Manager. The user is configured in the Users dialog box of the Central Management Console. Figure 1-4 Report Manager user configuration Note For further information on the user configuration in the Business Objects, please refer to chapter 5 of the online documentation (XIAdministratorsGuide.pdf) that is located in the installation folder SIT\RM\DOC\Documents\Pdf. Report Manager Request Server to send the print jobs to report manager, the Report Manager Request Server should be started. It occurs on the menu Component> Report Manager> Request Report Manager Server from Simatic IT Management Console. Report Manager Report To represent the batch log on paper or as a PDF, the SIMATIC IT Report Manager requires a template. 9 Description and Installation of the Application The delivery of the application includes the ChargenProtokoll.rep template that can be used after creating the described tables and settings and that can be further adapted. Installing After copying the bin directory to the hard disk of the computer on which the application is to be run, the installation is completed. The application can be started by calling the Report Manager.exe file that is located in the bin directory. V /18

10 Program Execution 2 Program Execution 2.1 Brief description The figure below is a diagrammatic representation of the program execution. First the batch for which a report is to be printed out (generated as a PDF) is selected. 2. Subsequently, an audit trail entry is generated in the Compliance Service database and the report status is set to Original if no log has previously been generated on the report. If the report status already has the Original value, the status changes to Copy and an audit trail entry is generated in the Compliance Service database. 3. Then the job to generate the report is transmitted to the Report Manager. This occurs only if the entry in the Compliance Service database has been successful. V /18

Finally, an audit trail entry is generated in the Compliance Service database which indicates whether the report has been successfully printed or not. 2.2 Program execution in detail This chapter describes the detailed program execution. 1. 13 Program Execution 2. Click the Print button to capture the print job as an audit trail in the Compliance Service. In the NewValue box, the text ( original or copy ) is entered to make a distinction between the first version and further versions of the batch log. 3. After successfully inserting the audit trail data record, the application transfers the print job with the arguments (list of measuring points, start time and end time of the batch) to the SIMATIC IT Report Manager. 4. The SIMATIC IT Report Manager updates its data sources according to the supplied arguments and the current audit trail information. After updating the data sources, the job is sent to the printer. To represent the batch log, the SIMATIC IT Report Manager uses the ChargenProtokolls.rep template. V /18
